Job Description Graphic Designer / Social Media Manager

Characteristic/Essential Duties and Functions:

Graphic Designer

• Provides in-house graphic design services for a wide array of projects - print and electronic - that promote all programs

• Evaluates "big picture" - target audience, message and appropriate medium - before initiating design process.

• Manages projects from initial creative concepts through layout and proofing to final production.

• Preserves brand integrity across department for all projects.

• Successfully delivers projects on time and within budget.

• Handles in-house color printers, including troubleshooting, usage reports and orders supplies.

Social Media Manager

• Supports organization’s social media presence.

• Takes lead in developing appropriate, timely posts specific to each channel - and based on organizational social media strategy.

• Tracks social media analytics to evaluate and increase successful social media engagement.

• Evaluates emerging technology and makes recommendations for change, as needed.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Computer Science, Marketing or related field

• Minimum five years relevant experience (graphic design, layout, photography, videography, electronic media) preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Demonstrated commitment to Christian Science and mission of Adventure Unlimited

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign and Photoshop

• Ensures consistent design of materials and communications

• Effectively manages multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities and works well under pressure

• Understands print and production processes

• Balances multiple projects and meets deadlines

• Supports team collaboration and works well independently

• Possesses proficient organization and communication skills

• Employs basic HTML knowledge

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The employee must meet physical demands in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. While performing the job duties, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close vision for extended periods of viewing a computer screen(s), distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
