Association of Jewish Family & Children’s Agencies Jewish Family & Children’s Service 2015 Annual Report Chaplaincy Outreach Nursing homes visits were made to 642 residents with outreach to 65 different facilies. Twenty parachaplain volunteers donated 460 hours through friendly visits and/or assistance with observance of Jewish holidays. Child Abuse Prevenon Program 1,197 presentaons were made to 26,942 children, parents and teachers introducing personal safety skills and prevenon informaon focused on keeping children safe from sexual abuse and exploitaon. Clinical Services (Including FMHC and BISC) Families received 4,826 counseling sessions, represenng 19,472 people, addressing issues focused on: abuse, depression, anxiety, interpersonal relaonships, mental and physical illness, marital conflict/divorce, bereavement, parent-child relaonships, school behavior and social skills. School Based Social Work Services 2,104 hours of consultaon, mental health-focused educaonal groups, crisis intervenon and brief counseling services were provided to children, families and educaonal staff in the Jewish Day Schools, public schools, congregaonal pre-schools, camps and at the Jewish Community Center. 281 (unduplicated) children were served. ElderLink St. Louis Informaon and referral services were provided to 1,733 older adults and their family members through telephone calls and website visits. 760 individuals parcipated in 6 community educaon programs. 50 GateKeeper trainings reached 223 individuals. Financial Assistance 353 families, represenng 552 people, received financial assistance to help with short term crisis situaons due to unemployment, under-employment, high medical or ulity bills or other unexpected expenses. Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry 5,135 families, represenng 16,758 people, received more than 3,623,546 food and personal care items from the food pantry. There were a total of 27,825 visits (including deliveries) to the pantry in 2015. 193 volunteers donated 18,722 hours of service to the HKJFP through assisng clients, stocking shelves, sorng goods, registering new clients and more. In-Home Services for Older Adults and Adults with Special Needs 129 individuals received a total of 26,844 hours of in-home services. Informaon and Referral 3,068 individuals were provided informaon on community resources, risk assessment and crisis intervenon. Program Highlights
