Board of Education To Whom It May Concern, Please consider this letter as an initial application for the position of Superintendent for Flagler School District. I will include my resume describing my work and administrative experience within the general attachments. I will also include recommendations and licensing information. I currently hold the position of Superintendent for the Beecher School District. I have held this position for the past two plus years. I am also looking forward to working with a more progressive school district. Prior to becoming the Superintendent I served as the District Administrator/Principal in Princeton Wisconsin for six years, as well as the District Administrator/Principal for an additional six years total with the Lomira School District in Wisconsin. As you can see from my resume, I have continued to work on my Educational Administrative degree. While my degree has taught me the basics in educational administration theory, my thirteen years as a District Administrator has given me the opportunity to apply this knowledge to real-life situations. Furthermore, being actively involved in community activities has helped me develop effective time management, communication and leadership skills. I believe these skills are critical to the success of any administrator. I enjoy having many different roles and responsibilities. As an administrator I am fulfilled by the daily interaction with and supervision of quality staff members. In addition I have worked very close with our bookkeeper ensuring that our budget of $12.5 million dollars has stayed balanced. My responsibilities include staffing and program development, working close with salary and benefits, along with being the board’s liaison for negotiations. I put the needs of the students first and I enjoy working with other staff members as their supervisor. I believe I am sensitive to their needs while being committed to helping them develop as professionals. Finally, I have also held the title of Human Resource Director, Director of Operations, Curriculum and Finance, which would be beneficial as your next superintendent. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to learn more about Flagler School District. Please contact me if you have any questions concerning my education/experience or would like to schedule a time to discuss possible career opportunities. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Jeffrey McCartney
