FCC is a complete fuel conditioner

providing comprehensive protection

of the fuel system which results in a

clean fuel system with reductions in

running and maintenance costs.

Example of fuel bug

Fuel Bug- the problem

Blocked filters, stuck injectors, internal

corrosion, reduced horsepower and even engine

failure can be caused by a microscopic fungus,

Hormoconis resinae, which is present to varying

extents in all diesels. This fungus commonly

known as the “fuel bug” thrives in fuel storage

tanks using the hydrocarbons in the fuel as a

food source and dissolved oxygen in the water

for respiration.

Hydrocarbons and dissolved oxygen encourage

growth with each fungal cell dividing every 20

minutes. As older fungi die their bodies form a

slime that floats up into the fuel, quickly

clogging filters and narrowing fuel lines. Sludge

adhering to the fuel lines and tank walls

produces corrosive hydrogen sulphide which

causes metal defects in fuel system components

and pitting of the injectors. A unique Rust

inhibitor protects from corrosion.

Microbial growth can be prevented by

eliminating water from the fuel tanks and

ensuring they stay uncontaminated. Biocide

treatment on the other hand will kill any

bacterial and fungal growth but creates a sudden

mass of dead cells which only adds to the

problem.

product applications

naturally safe

FCC is pH neutral and contains no

hydrocarbons, sulphur, phosphorous,

nitrogen or metallic ingredients.

It is nontoxic, non-hazardous and

non-flammable.

Under normal conditions of combustion

it will burn to form CO2 (carbon dioxide)

and H2O (water).

Used in hydrocarbon and Bio-fuels it

causes the fuel to burn more efficiently,

thereby reducing harmful emissions.

effect on emissions with FCC

Nitrous oxides: No effect

Carbon emissions: FCC will significantly

reduce HC

( unburnt hydrocarbons)

Carbon monoxide: CO will reduce as the

cleaner burn means that a

higher conversion to CO2 will occur in

the combustion

chamber rather than in the atmosphere.

CO2 will

increase due to the reduction in CO

Sulphur: FCC will not allow sulphur to

form sulphurous acids.

This has a less detrimental effect on

the environment

FCC is a complete fuel

conditioner blended with

magnesium providing

comprehensive protection of

the heavy fuel oil systems

which results in reductions in

running and maintenance

costs.

Product application

Designed and formulated to

treat all forms of Heavy Fuel

Oil

Suitable for gas turbines

Eliminates corrosive vanadium

deposits

As effective as FCC is cleaning

out the complete fuel system

Easy to use

Economical rate of 1:4000

To be blended with the service

tanks

Auto dosing systems can be

retrofitted

Vanadium molten deposits

Corrosion initiates from the

Vanadium in the fuel which forms a

low melt glaze during combustion

with other metals in the fuel like

sodium, aluminium, iron, as well as

sulfur and oxygen. These low melt

glasslike compounds not only

corrode equipment but prevent

heat transfer to water in tubes.

Additionally these low-melt

compounds form a hard glaze

when they cool that make cleaning

very difficult.

These corrosive vanadium

compounds reduce efficiency in

heat transfer, resulting in lost BTU's

and a more costly power output.

Treating Vanadium deposits

Testing results using FCC-V has

evidenced that at the correct

dosage and specifications, this

corrosion can be prevented. FCC-V

creates a vanadium compound

during combustion that has a higher

melting point and is noncorrosive,

giving a more complete combustion

and eliminate the black smoke from

exiting the stacks and thereby lead

to less toxic environmental

emissions, greater and more

effective and efficient fuel and plant

operations

B.A.R.C. BITUMEN &

ASPHALT REMOVER &

CLEANER

New technology allows low volatility

products derived from alternative

sustainable sources to produce superior

results without the traditionally

accepted risks.

This technology is now available to

address the environmental issues

surrounding the removal of bitumen

and asphalt

technical specifications

Derived primarily from natural edible

plant oils, and are free of VOC and the

customary traditional solvents

MSDS available on request

how it works

BARC has a similar molecular

structure to bitumen, resulting in

the rapid penetration of the

bitumen down to the adhered

surface. Spreading itself between the

bitumen and the surface it

effectively lifts the bitumen from

the surface.

Holding the particles in solution

allows them to be removed to

waste or can be separated, allowing

the Bitumen to be recycled

Being chemically similar allows the

bitumen to dissolve in the BARC.

Once rinsed off it leaves behind a

film that makes for easier

subsequent cleaning.

As a direct superior replacement for

Kerosene/diesel it not only speeds

up the whole cleaning action, it

makes it easier the next time around

too and so making effective savings

in labour and downtime

PREPARATION:

• Lanotec Anti-Spatter will give best results when applied to a clean, dry surface.

• It is understood that not all areas can be cleaned or dried before application, but the applicationof Anti-Spatter will give far more benefits on a dirty surface than not applying Anti-Spatter at all.

• Shake container to ensure product is mixed correctly. Colder climates will require extra agitation.

• A light spray over the work and/or jig will prevent welding spatter sticking to the surface. A simplewipe with a cloth or rub with a wire brush will remove all spatter.

• Anti-Spatter may be pre-applied to parts and will act as a rust preventative as long as the productis not cleaned off the parts.

• Application of Lanotec Anti-Spatter to gloves and aprons will dramatically increase the life ofboth.

• Apply product sparingly, using the hand spray bottle. Spray over area to be protected. In mostcases one pump of the hand sprayer containing Lanotec Anti-Spatter will be sufficient to protectthe area coated.

• When applying to objects via spray, hold 30cm away from object. Start from the top and coatevenly from one side to the other.

• When coating vertical surfaces, always start at the top and work down using the same mistingtechnique.

• Coverage is approximately 20m² per litre. Only one coat is required.

REMOVAL:

• Where removal is necessary any strong solvent will remove Lanotec Anti-Spatter.

• Lanotec recommends the use of Lanotec Citra-Force or Lanotec PowaWash.

• Does not require removal for products to be galvanised. It is removed in the galvanising process.

PREPARATION:

• Lanotec General Purpose will give best results when applied to a clean, dry surface.

• It is understood that not all areas can be cleaned or dried before application, but the applicationof General Purpose will give far more benefits on a dirty surface than not applying GeneralPurpose at all.

• Lanotec General Purpose is soluble in oil, and therefore light oils on machined parts do not needto be removed before lubricating.

• Where short term mothballing of equipment is the ultimate aim, a good clean with a powerfuldegreaser before application of Lanotec General Purpose will give best results. Lanotecrecommends Lanotec PowaWash or Lanotec Citra-Force.

• Remove sources of ignitions, voltage and flame before use.

APPLICATION:

• Shake container to ensure product is mixed correctly. Colder climates will require extra agitation.

• Lanotec General Purpose can be applied via spray, brush, roller or lambs wool applicator.

• Lanotec provides a 750ml trigger bottle and a 1.5L pump up pressurised sprayer, for small tomedium coating jobs. For larger jobs recommended application is via a pump-up garden-typesprayer with Viton seals.

• Coverage is approximately 20m² per litre. Only one coat is required. If overapplied the coatingwill become tacky, and debris will stick to it. High pressure water blasting will remove the debrisand leave the Lanotec General Purpose behind.

• When applying to objects via spray, hold 30cm away from object. Start from the top and coatevenly from one side to the other.

• When the surface looks wet, you have applied enough product.

• Allow one hour drying time before putting equipment to use.

• If dust adhesion is undesirable, Lanotec General Purpose can be buffed to stop dust adhering.Dust and dirt adhesion is only to the protective coating, and when coating is removed equipmentwill revert back to original appearance.

REAPPLICATION:

• Reapplication is recommended every 3 months or when further lubrication is required.Reapplication is not required if stored out of direct sunlight (i.e. in a warehouse).

• Visual inspection is recommended daily until a suitable service interval has been identified.Reapply where required during service intervals.

• Wipe dirt and dust away from surface.

• Reapply as per application instructions above.

PREPARATION:

• Shake or stir Lanotec Release Agent concentrate to consistency before mixing with water

• Add concentrate to container then add water to achieve your desired dilution rate

• High quality sprayer recommended (Chapin brand or similar)

• For best results apply to a clean dry surface

• Apply a fine even coat with quality sprayer

• When using as a bond breaker, apply to the top of cured panel in 2 even diagonal opposingcoats. In extreme heat, the panels can be sprayed with water before Lanotec Release Agent isapplied, this reduces the amount of Release Agent absorbed by the cured panel

• If it rains after application, feel for waxy surface and judge if further application is required

• Continued use on formwork leaves surface clean after stripping; no cleaning required betweenpours, simply spray, pour, strip and repeat

• For best results, apply to the horizontal before erection (steel & aluminium) where practical

• Non staining for coloured concrete

• Can be applied after setting polystyrene block outs (does not affect polystyrene)

• If mopping the finish, use a new clean mop pre soaked in Lanotec Release Agent

• Safe for fibreglass, PVC, polypropylene and rubber moulds

• High performance for bullnose moulds

Timber Seal

PREPARATION:

• All new (green) timber structures should be allowed to settle for a minimum of 3 months beforeapplying any coating system. If treated before this, there is a risk of resins and tannins rising tothe surface, causing black spots.

• If the timber is freshly milled or “green”, only apply inside joints and on bolts and fastenings.Allow timber to weather further before applying Timber Seal.

• Previously untreated timber should be treated against mould and/or fungus spores (use anybroad spectrum agent) before applying Timber Seal.

• High levels of tannin and oily resins or high moisture content in the timber will affect thepenetration rate of Timber Seal which can lead to a poor finish of the coated surface. It isimportant that the timber is clean and dry before applying Timber Seal.

• Can be used on timber previously coated with decking oil. Timber must be showing signs ofdryness before applying Timber Seal.

• If the timber has turned grey due to weathering, sand surface lightly and clean thoroughly beforeapplying Timber Seal. To restore colour without sanding, see below in regards to using tint.

• Ensure timber is dry, and free of dirt & dust before applying Lanotec Timber Seal - High pressureclean then leave 24 hours to dry.

APPLICATION:

• Shake container to ensure product is mixed correctly. Colder climates will require extra agitation.

• Refer to coverage guide. Measure area of timber to be protected. Only use the recommendedvolume of product. Over application will cause tackiness on the surface of the timber.

• For decking surfaces and other dressed timber, Timber Seal is best applied by spraying via agarden type sprayer. A flat lamb’s wool applicator may be used to evenly spread the appliedproduct. For the underside of external decking and structural timbers, apply by spray, preferablyprior to construction.

• The final coat of exposed dressed timber surface can be polished/buffed to the natural wax toremove residue, maximise the protective seal and to highlight the natural grains.

• 6 hours drying time is recommended.

• Lanotec Timber Seal is compatible with most oil based tints, if the timber is dry it will accept a tintmixed into the Timber Seal at a rate of 2.5% (25ml per 1L). However it is advisable to conduct apenetration test with an off-cut or in an inconspicuous area first.

• Timber Seal is not compatible with acrylic water based products.

• For best results use Lanotec Type A Grease on end grains; and all fasteners - to lubricate thefastener, and to seal the hole.

Timber Seal

REAPPLICATION:

• A simple water test should be carried out on previously treated structure. If the water beads, thetimber is still protected. If the water is absorbed, reapplication is required.

• Typically an annual reapplication is all that is required; although two applications isrecommended in the first 12 months, to ensure adequate build up below the surface of the timber(as lanolin has an accumulative effect).

CLEANUP & CLEANING:

• Use Lanotec Citra-Force or mineral turps. For cleaning decks use warm soapy water.

• If Timber Seal is over applied resulting in a tacky surface, the excess can be cleanedoff using a solvent or degreaser. Lanotec Citra-Force at 1:10 parts luke warm water isideal for this purpose.

• Refer to coverage guide. Measure area of timber to be protected. Only use the recommendedvolume of product. Over application will cause tackiness on the surface of the timber.

• All timbers are different and display differing rates of absorption, i.e. hardwoods are lessabsorbent than softwood such as pine. This should be taken into consideration when determiningcoverage rate.

• For the best results Timber Seal PLUS should be applied to clean, dry surfaces, by a garden-type sprayer or roller.

• Lanotec Timber Seal PLUS is compatible with most oil based tints, if the timber is dry it willaccept a tint mixed into the Timber Seal PLUS at a rate of 5%. However it is advisable to conducta penetration test with an off-cut or in an inconspicuous area first.

PREPARATION:

• Lanotec U.P. will give best results when applied to a clean, dry surface.

• It is understood that not all areas can be cleaned or dried before application, but the applicationof U.P will give far more benefits on a dirty surface than not applying U.P. at all.

• Lanotec U.P. is soluble in oil, and therefore light oils on machined parts do not need to beremoved before coating.

• Lanotec U.P. will stop surface rust in its tracks, so no need to remove surface corrosion.

• Where corrosion is intense, the removal of large chunks and flaky areas will reduce the amountof product required.

• Where long term mothballing of equipment is the ultimate aim, a good clean with a powerfuldegreaser before application of Lanotec U.P. will give best results. Lanotec recommends LanotecPowaWash or Lanotec Citra-Force.

• Remove sources of ignitions, voltage and flame before use.

APPLICATION:

• Shake container to ensure product is mixed correctly. Colder climates will require extra agitation.

• Lanotec U.P. can be applied via spray, brush, roller or lambs wool applicator.

• Lanotec provides a 750ml trigger bottle and a 1.5L pump up pressurised sprayer, for small tomedium coating jobs. For larger jobs recommended application is via a pump-up garden-typesprayer with Viton seals or an air-driven or air-less painting system.

• Coverage is approximately 20m² per litre. Only one coat is required. If over applied the coatingwill become tacky, and debris will stick to it. High pressure water blasting will remove the debrisand leave the Lanotec U.P. behind.

• When applying to objects via spray, hold 30cm away from object. Start from the top and coatevenly from one side to the other.

• When the surface looks wet, you have applied enough product.

• Allow one hour drying time before putting equipment to use.

• If dust adhesion is undesirable, Lanotec U.P. can be buffed to stop dust adhering. Dust and dirtadhesion is only to the protective coating, and when coating is removed equipment will revertback to original appearance.
