EXERCISEEXERCISE triggers multiple metabolic changes to bring about the positive chronic adaptations exercise is so well known for. In the hypermetabolic states that accompany the stress of exercise, nutrients participate in the metabolism of energy and energy stores, hormone synthesis and endocrine function, and the production and proper functioning of many different types of cell components. Pesticide levels of 23 children were measured before and after switching to an organic diet. After just 5 consecutive days, pesticides decreased to undetectable levels, remaining that way until conventional diets were reintroduced.

“In conclusion, we were able to demonstrate that an organic diet provides a dramatic and immediate protective effect against exposures to organophosphorus pesticides that are commonly used in agricultural production. We also concluded that these children were most likely exposed to these organophosphorus pesticides exclusively through their diet.”
