Medellín, Colombia - El Alumbrado Navideño

En Colombia, las navidades se inauguran extraoficialmente el día 7 de diciembre, el

"Día de las Velitas". Por la noche, las calles se decoran con velas y linternas de papel,

que iluminan las ciudades y pueblos en un resplandor amarillo en honor a la

Inmaculada Concepción. En muchas ciudades, e incluso en los pequeños pueblos

rurales, los vecinos se reúnen y decoran los barrios, convirtiendo las calles en virtuales

"túneles de luz". La ciudad de Medellín se convirtió en un popular destino turístico

durante la temporada de vacaciones debido a este despliegue de luces.

Argentina, ropa interior de color

Una tradición femenina local y muy popular es el uso de ropa interior de color rosa.

Para algunos, la costumbre es de origen pagano ligado a la procreación y la fertilidad;

para otros, está más ligada al cristianismo y el período litúrgico de Adviento, cuando

se encendía una vela rosa como símbolo de la alegría que generaba la llegada de

Jesús al mundo. Esta costumbre se transmitió de generación en generación como
