BACKGROUND
Wise Sales is an online retailer of power equip-ment and lawn mowers, specializing in excel- ent customer service and post-sale support. Wise Sales has an extremely loyal customer base and a slew of 4- and 5-star reviews.
PROBLEMS & CHALLENGES
Past SEO companies had built a large number of low-quality backlinks and content, highly fo-cused on Wise Sales’ biggest revenue driver, the Honda EU2000i Generator.
In the months prior to our help, sales for this generator had fallen significantly, from $233,000 in August 2013 to just $71,000 in January 2014. Iterate began with an intensive backlink review, sorting through thousands of backlinks in search of low-quality directories, paid link farms, and comment spam initiated by previous SEO com-panies. After presenting the client with a risk/benefit assessment, Iterate disavowed hundreds of low-quality links and began producing highly quality blog posts and infographics, which, saw a quick improvement in organic traffic and rankings.
