    1. Carved chest is called a Hadley chest.

    2. Portrait by Charles Jervas of Duke of Marlborough, Jervas was born in1675 in Ireland. Died 1739 in London. He was principal painter for KingGeorge I and King George II.

    3. Gentlemans wig box is tole, name on front, and name and address of wigmaker inside.

    4. English Chippendale chest C 1770 with original brass. Matched grainingon front.

    5. Looking glass is Federal. Called a Constitution mirror.

    6. Brass candlesticks are Chippendale, stepped base.

    7. Tall case clock. Made in the Philadelphia area 1780-1790. It is walnut,and is Chippendale design. Case has ogee bracket feet with arched panalbase, arched panel door, quarter columns are fluted- carved rosettes are

    inset with ivory. Flame finials. Made in Kettle (Rutz) town, PA area byclockmaker of Aleman decent.

    8. Chairs are English C 1780.

    9. Portrait of Ellen Montgomery Bell of Paisley, Scotland, C 1810. Thepigment has turned dark, typical of that period.
