The system: world-uniqueA high-resolution comparator balance, precise weight handler, vacuum chamber: together they form the M_one, the most used weighing system in the world for fully automatic mass determination up to 1 kg under constant pressure or vacuum.

Pressure-controlled atmosphereThe cleverly constructed vacuum chamber allows measurements at extremely constant ambient condi-tions ranging from normal atmos-pheric pressure to an underpres-sure of 10–6 mbar. This ensures a constant air density for less uncertainty influence of air buoy-ancy correction. The maximum measurement evaluation of 10 ng (0.00000001 g) and an accuracy of 100 ng (0.1 μg) is attained for smallest measurement uncer-tainties.

Weighing range up to 10 kgBeside the M_one, the M_10 gives you utmost precision for standard 1:1 comparison up to 10 kg weighings as well as various patterns of downward calibration. Yet placing the compensation weights is easy and fast.

Programmed automation and flexibility. You can configure the entire measuring process according to your requirements. The Windows® based software performs the measurement completely automatic with just one keystroke.

Comparison in every form. The weight handler with its STAR-shaped weighing pan and four or six platforms takes standard cylindrical or spherical weights in any combination. Under vacuum, practically error-free comparisons between weights of different volume become possible.

Robotic systemSystems like the a_Comparator Line are completely automated turn-key solutions. The a107 and a5 have an unsurpassed resolution toward nanogram accuracy up to 100 g with 0.1 μg (100 ng) read-ability. Each have a large weight magazine for high productivity, a 3-axis robot and Windows® based controller.

Increased productivity At the start of the calibration proce-dure you insert the mass-standard weights and the weights for testing into the holders of the magazine. The robot then takes the individual weights, transfers them to the weighing pan, and returns them after weighing. You can program the sequence and weighing pattern according to your needs.

Easy data managementNeedless to say, all weighing operations, references, alloca-tions, and results are automatically comprehensively documented in a Windows® based software.

Easy operationThe a_control software is Windows® based soft-ware. You can program your procedures practi-cally any way you like. Or use the familiar stand-ard programs.

Productivity included18 weights fit into the magazine of the a1000 Comparator.

High performance as standardThe magazine of the a107 Com-parator measures 30 weights with 0.1μg (100ng) accuracy up to 100g.

Large magazine, efficient weighing pan The magazine of the a5 Comparator has three rows each with twelve weight carriers. You can therefore load 36 weights and automatically perform corre-spondingly numerous downward weight calibrations. Thanks to the special weighing pan, the robot can place up to three weights on it simultaneously.

Cutting-edge technologyWith their extraor di nary res o lu tion and incom par able repeat abil ity, the AX107H, AX106H, AX1006 and AX10005 Com par a tor Bal anc es com prise a class of their own. They meet the high est re quire ments for accuracy up to 0.1 μg (100 na-nograms) and the determination of weight pieces of up to 10 kg. Human error is eliminated due to fully automatic operation.

Cleverly designed turntableWith the AX107H and AX106H the efficiency is increased by placing several weights on the turntable for each weighing position. This enables you to calibrate the weight decade 10 - 100 g by dissemina-tion without the aid of disc weights.

Saves results automaticallyComparison weighings are carried out completely automatically. The measurement data are captured, evaluated, and recorded automatic-ally in a Windows® based software. The standardized system structure and controls make operation easy. All measurement results are com-pletely traceable at any time and stored in a comprehensive report.

Automatic climate evaluationClimatic data can be read directly into the controller using our op-tional highly accurate measuring station Klimet A30.

Wide weighing rangeThe entire weighing range of the AX1006 is available to you – from 0 to 1011g. This makes it pos sible to use the Comparator Balance with out any restrictions, even for testing non-metric weights.

Saves timeBy simply switching in tare weights, the AX10005 can be quickly and easily set to the desired weighing range such as 1, 2, 5 or 10 kg.

Determining the density and volume of solid bodies is very important both in industrial (e.g. materials manufacturing) and in metrological applications. In metrology it is recommended to specify the volume and density on calibration certificates for weight pieces in the OIML accuracy class E1 or lower, when used above cer-tain sea levels.

Especially versatile: VC1005XThe VC1005X is used to determine the density and volume of OIML weights and spheres. The VC1005X covers the range up to 1 kg.

Especially reliable: P20 DensityTo be used in combination with XP-L Comparator Balance. With the Windows® based software, density determination is performed accurately and easily from 2 kg up to 20 kg.

In Mass Metrology, weights are used according guideline of OIML or ASTM that are categorized into accuracy classes E1, E2, F1, F2, M1, M2 and M3 or class 1 to 7 respectively. When determining the weight, the maximum allowed measurement uncertainty of the whole process must be equal or less than 1/3 of the maximum tolerance (mpe) of the weight under test with level of confidence k=2 or 95%. The main contribution factors of the combined measurement uncertainty are following:

Uncertainty of the weighingis the repeatability of the compara-tor with a defined number of weight comparisons per process. The more repetitions of ABA / ABBA are performed, the lower repeatability influence to the weighing uncertainty. METTLER TOLEDO is performing the calculations of the weighing ranges uppon the guaranteed load depend-ent repeatabilities in ABA weighing mode.

Uncertainty of the reference weight The reference weight being used should be at least one class higher than the test object, e.g. E2 standard weights should be used to calibrate weight pieces in class F1. The uncer-tainty contribution of the mass stand-ard is herewith only 1/9 of the MPE of the test weight.

Comparator application rangesThe illus tra tions below show the calculated weighing ranges for OIML weights according OIML R111, based on 5ABA (Class E1 at K=2), for simplified comparison of performance and weighing ranges of different models.

Uncertainty of air buoyancy correctionThe density of the weights (standard and test weight) and air should be close as possible to the conven-tional density of weights (8000 kg/m3) and air (1.2 kg/m3) to achieve smallest uncertainties.

Uncertainty of the balanceSmallest readability and good re-peatability qualities ensure a mini-mum effect on the uncertainty.

METTLER TOLEDO DefinitionsMETTLER TOLEDO defines the weigh-ing ranges of the comparators for re-alistic processing at customers site.

weighing process uncertainty is 80% of the maximum allowed uncertainty (1/3 MPE). The other uncertainty influence factors are covered by the 20% for an stand-ardized environment.

Important The stated specifications and technical data apply only under good ambient conditions. Disruptive factors at the place of installation such as strong drafts (especially from air conditioning equipment), excessive vibra-tions, physical effects of the items being weighed (e.g. magnetic fields or electrostatic charges), or ambient conditions outside the allowable tolerances, may have adverse effects on the specifications.
