Example: Students complete a teacher-developed WebQuest to develop baseline knowledge about sensors and their many uses in today’s world. They then use Internet research strategies to find answers to new questions raised by their WebQuest learning experience.

Technologies: Web-based research tools such as WebQuests, Hot-lists, or Treasure Hunts. Internet Search Engines, on-line libraries, on-line encyclopedias, etc.

Example: Students use teleconferencing, Skype, or speaker phone technology to collaborate with students from a different school district. Later, they develop a slide show which they send to those students as an e-mail attachment to communicate the main findings from their engineering design project.

Technologies: Web boards, teleconferencing, speaker phones, e-mail, Web meetings, presentation software (ex. PowerPoint), word processing programs, desktop publishing software, digital cameras, video editing software, photo-editing software etc.
