Romina Munoz ITECC 299 Level 3 Activity - Synthesis Project 1.1 In the beginning of the class, my score of learning preferences stated that I was a visual learner. I scored 3 on sensing, 3 on reflecting, 9 on visual and 2 on Global. The results of this survey showed that I was definitely more of a thinker and I thought. I strongly believe that illustrations do enhance my learning and help me to locate information I need very quickly. I truly enjoy this learning mode. I’m the kind of student that likes to solve the problem step by step to fully understand new concepts. I believe that at the end of this class I’ve become more of a verbal learner, which has helped me improve communication skills. 1.2 My thoughts about my own learning preference haven’t changed since the beginning of the class because I’m still a visual learner. The best way to learn for me is by visualizing the stuff I am learning. Having examples of the subject matter I’m being introduced to is crucial to fully understand the content of it. 2.1 At the end of this class my thinking about the concept of learning preferences has changed in the sense that I now know there’s an appropriate learning path according to your own personality. For instance I didn’t know I was a visual learner until I took the survey. The results of the survey were very helpful in helping me identify what learning strategy work best for me.

Level 3 Activity - Synthesis Project

1.1

2.2

I strongly believe that knowing your own learning preference does make a great impact in the student success. As I said before, the results of the survey we took in the class were crucial for me to find out what learning strategy worked better with my learning process. Once you indentify your learning strategy you will have the tools you need to be successful in your field of studies.

3.1

At the beginning of the class, I chose to be a learning warrior in my learning pathway. I chose to learn in depth about the different technologies. I chose iPad, mp3 and game simulation as my learning strategies. I believe it succeeded because I keep using all of these technologies to improve my studies. I haven’t changed my learning strategies since I’m doing well with it. I believe this strategy works really well with me. I believe that if I worked in a group my learning pathway can help me in the sense that I will have a broader knowledge about new technologies such as iPads, mp3 and game stimulations.

3.2

I haven’t changed my path way because it has worked really well with me. I am now able to benefit from all these new technologies and be successful in my studies. I believe that these technologies are very helpful and do make an impact in my learning process if I use them the right way.

4.1

The activity that helped me get a broader understanding of how to use a technology to learn was the Tech Quest (level 2 activity) on Predict, Use, EvaluateiPods& mp3 players. These technologies had a great impact in helping improve my grades for other classes. With mp3s and iPods you have the opportunity to listen to class lecture recordings very carefully, pause or rewind any part of the lecture to improve your learning. It’s a very effective technique and you can study at your own pace.

4.2.

I believe that the activity that help me get a deeper understanding of how to use a technology to learn was the Tech Quest ( Level 2 activity) on Predict, use, evaluate Pod casts. This activity was very helpful to get a deeper knowledge of how to use pod casts as a tool to improve my grades. The pod casts activity incorporated the active strategy as you need to apply it when aligning with pictures to the information being taught. The variety of pictures were very creative and illustrated the stuff that was being discussed. Since I am a visual learner I got a deeper understanding on how to use this technology to succeed in school.

4.3

The activity that worked best for learning with others to use technologies was the Level 3 activity part 1 (Pod casts – Apply Concepts to Another Class). This activity was helpful because I could actually apply my knowledge on how to use pod casts to be successful in my other courses. Since there’s almost a pod casts for every other subject being taught at school, it was easy to find them on the topics of my interest and use them to get more information for my classes.
