IT Academy Overview
The IT Academy is a 9-10 week summer internship program designed to expose students to a variety of careers in the Information
Technology (IT) field and prepare individuals for careers upon college graduation. The application process is invitation only through our
various education programs (i.e Career Pathways Program, MassMutual Scholars) and collaborations.
To apply:
1. For 12th grade students, please return the IT Academy Registration Form to your MM Achiever Club Advisor by March 24th.
See your MassMutual Achiever Club Advisor for assistance or if you have any questions. They are there to help!
2. For 12th grade and college students, college level positions are for current 12th grade students and college students in their 1st, 2nd or
3rd year of college. Please review the college level positions below and determine which ones are of most interest to you.
3. Please check back periodically, as the jobs available may change.
4. You will be able to apply for your top 5 choices. Please use the IT Academy Preference Form to indicate your preferred positions
for consideration.
5. Please submit your resume, cover letter and preference form to [email protected] no later than April 1st. Any
submissions made after the deadline or incomplete applications will not be considered.

1. Get your resume and cover letter together! And don’t wait until the week of the deadline. You can get help at your school by
seeing your School to Career Coordinator/Career Centers or FutureWorks by appointment (book early).
2. Participate in the IT Academy College Position Information Session (online meeting only). Note: you will also be receiving an
Outlook meeting invite by March 29th that will have the link included in the body of the meeting invitation on your calendar.
3. Interviews will be held April 18th – April 29 at MassMutual, 1295 State Street, Spfld, MA campus. Be sure to put a hold on your calendars.
4. Check your email daily, as we will be communicating to candidates regarding interviews via email and will expect a response within 24 hours to confirm your interview appointment(s).

Position Description
Account Management is a new team at MassMutual that was built as a direct response to MMWay Wave 6C who is focused on making IT more efficient, easier to navigate, and easier to do business with. The division is accountable for the delivery of IT programs, projects and enhancements for the benefit of our business partners and MassMutual as a whole. There are three primary roles on the team: The Account Manager, Delivery Manager, and Account Ambassador.
The Account Manager (AM) is a trusted, value added technology advisor and advocate, demonstrating strong
understanding of our partner’s business domains. Provides proactive consulting, collaborative creation of joint vision &
strategy, portfolio planning & delivery aligned to key business outcomes, and is a champion for continuous
improvement ensuring that our IT organization meets our partner’s expectations.
The Delivery Manager (DM) is responsible for the overall delivery and financial health of the projects within the
portfolio. The DM will develop and maintains an IT portfolio via a dashboard that that summarizes project and
portfolio health, as well as IT service performance for communication to senior IT and Business Management. The DPM
analyzes and aligns portfolio performance, risks and measures through business focused outcomes, advises in priority
negotiation of competing deliverables and assists in the development and maintenance of prioritization and demand
management processes. The DPM monitors financial and resource forecasts and ensures an overall plan that supports
on schedule and on budget IT delivery.

Position Description MassMutual is a Fortune 100 insurance and financial services company with a razor-sharp focus on protecting the company’s information assets. We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated business analyst intern to provide support on a variety of projects and assignments. Support includes assisting with projects, documenting processes, developing/maintaining various communications, supporting business analysis roadmap deliverables, and contributing to the overall success of the Business Analysis Shared Services Organization through team work and collaboration.

You will provide support for basic Business Analysis (BA) activities such as elicitation and documentation of business processes, business rules, and requirements leveraging industry best practices. You will also be a key player in helping the Business Analysis discipline continue to grow and evolve by helping drive and complete items on the Shared Delivery Services BA roadmap.
You’ll do this by:
Assisting in the gathering and documenting of business, functional, and non-functional requirements
Providing support for facilitation of requirements gathering sessions
Performing analysis of business processes, procedures, data and rules
Reviewing and providing feedback on team members’ work product
Assisting in development and review of standard work and documentation of best practices
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
Owning and driving small to medium size problem solves related to business analysis
Participating in team huddles including team, project and intern huddles
Developing visuals to support the business analyst practice and associated metrics
Primary Skills Required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Listening, interviewing and questioning skills to help elicit and identify requirements
Strong interpersonal skills to help build and foster relationships Ability to work in a group setting and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
Strong problem solving and logical skills
Basic knowledge of Word, EXCEL, and PowerPoint
