Block version for:Retail Portfolio Use

The brand mark lock up can be used wherever the ISPT brandmark would have been used in the past on retail specific documents. For specifics, refer to the ‘ISPT Retail Centre Brand Hierarchy’ available on Image Bank.

To assist our teams in communicating this message, two versions of the ‘meaning lockup’ have been created. You can download both versions from Image Bank/Retail/Retail Portfolio Level Documents/Places with Meaning ISPT Brand Lockup.

Where the design and colours are in line with the ISPT brand. The box is dominant around the tagline, and is best suited with ISPT branding is being applied.

Outline version for:Property UseFor use where the property is the hero brand. The colour block is lighter so it will align better with the property branding. The ‘work lockup’ is the support branding, and often is applied to the footer of the design.

Websites are the exception, as the footer can require excess scrolling. In these circumstances, to be visible in web based design, the lockup must be brought up in the design (ie the header). Both landscape and stacked versions are provided, however landscape is always the preferred representation of the lockup.

An alternative version when the landscape version doesn’t suit the design.

The ‘brand lockup’ is used in full ISPT brand colours only and never reversed out of the clock of outline colour.

Colour

The ‘Places with Meaning’ brandmark must always appear on a white background. White should be incorporated into the design process from the beginning, or if that is not an option a white panel must be added for the ‘Places with Meaning’ to appear on. Please note that this panel must be unified with the rest of the design, and not a standalone white block.

Background

The ‘meaning lockup’ is usually placed either on the top left or bottom right of the design.

Position

Allow sufficient white space around the ‘meaning lockup’ so it is clear and not cluttered.

White Space

No other secondary or support logo may exceed the size of the ISPT logo component in height and width. For property led communications, the property brand may be larger in size.

Proportion (sizing)

Use the ‘meaning lockup’ exactly as it is. To not extend or distort the brandmark. Do not use any elements of the brandmark in isolation. Do not add drop shadows or any other elements and effects to the lockup.

Usage

Positioned in the bottom left of a poster Positioned in the top left of an EDM

Some questions and answersIs the ISPT brandmark (without the tagline) used anymore at retail property level?

It will only be used where space is an issue, however this should be a rare occurrence. When briefing design aim to use the brand lockup for both new and re-designing of publications. Use of the ‘proudly owned by’ ISPT version is discontinued.

Which ISPT brandmark do I use when there is a block of logos?

In a large block of logos (ie retail development hoarding) using the brand lockup may look unbalanced so it may be a case by case call. If the landscape master version does not suit the layout of the design, please also remember the stacked lockup alternative. Until there have been a number of situations where the brand lock up is applied it’s hard to define a single approach.

The ISPT blue is not in keeping with the property brand colours?

All ISPT properties that have undergone a branding process since 2012 should have considered the requirements to use the ISPT brand as a support to the property branding. As part of logo and colour palette development, sample designs are an effective way of testing the two brands together.ISPT’s brand architecture addresses this issue as we create a family of brands.

ISPT branding hasn’t always been used in community engagement communications and retail campaigns, with the tagline ‘places with meaning’ it is not being added to this type of communications, why?

ISPT branding is used within community engagement communications in situations where it adds to the message and does not clutter design. Some PMC teams are choosing to use the brand lockup as it builds a connection and value proposition with their community.

Where do I access the logo files and guidelines?

Image Bank is where ISPT and our properties store all of our digital assets including logos so its easy to share across our teams and our business partners. Go to Retail/Retail Portfolio level documents/look for the folder named ‘Places with Meaning ISPT brand lockup’.

If the ISPT brandmark is being used at your property (ie entry doors, wayfinders, floor stickers) the website and tenant directories then plan a changeover to the brand lockup when items are being replaced or updated. Anything electronic can be changed quite quickly via your design team.

How is branding handled for JV’s?

Branding is agreed up front with the co-owners and rolled out throughout the JV asset. Usually just the ISPT logo is used.
