Jo-Anne, head of sales, says: “I have been here since 2001, having come down the A1 from Lincolnshire and am happily settled in Highbury. I love the eclectic mix of cafés, bars, shops, Exmouth Market and the old traditional pubs and antique shops.

The summer trend of street food and dining out on the pavements is lovely and very special!”

The Narrow BoatST PETER’S STREETOn the canal, this popular pub is always serving great food – for lunch and for supper. A Sunday roast to die for! Great staff and dog friendly.

Prawn On The LawnHIGHBURY GROVEA fully licensed fishmonger and restaurant serving only the freshest seafood and tapas style dishes. The menu changes daily and aims to be as seasonal and sustainable as possible.

The AlbionTHORNHILL ROADA true local pub, but also a lovely restaurant. Always buzzing and has a great atmosphere. In the summer we spill out into the garden and in the winter we huddle by the bar!

ZaffraniCROSS STREETA lovely, smart restaurant cooking Indian food with a modern twist. So tasty! The restaurant has a modern feel and the staff are faultless – this is a restaurant for a treat.

Local restaurants A few of our favourite places to eat

Mem & LazTHEBERTON STREETA delicious fresh and authentic Mediterranean restaurant, always busy and very popular!

Welcome to IslingtonNorth and East London are as cool and urban as ever. The sharp edges have now been rounded off by the improvements in image and infrastructure that have been brought about by the London Olympics and Overground Rail line.

A while ago, this part of London was considered the poor relation in comparison with central and south-west locations, but not any more. Islington, Dalston and Hackney are the front runners for both local and international buyers and tenants. The beautiful mix of Victorian and Georgian terraced properties, alongside new developments, provide a stunning architectural back drop and although prices have seen growth in the past year, Islington remains relatively good value.

Islington has a wide variety of shops from the Essex Road to Upper Street, from the village enclave of unique boutiques on Cross Street to the buzz of Angel Central with the cinema complex.

Wild SwansA women’s boutique selling a variety of Scandinavian designer clothes and shoes. Always busy and always on trend.

TribeA riot of colour with rugs and kilims. A really well stocked independent shop with something for everyone’s floor!

TigerA lifesaver for gifts and things you didn’t know you needed – but now can’t live without!

JigsawA must have shop on the high street for lovely jumpers, pretty skirts and tailored jackets.

ShoppingHighlights beyond the High Street

We are so lucky to have The Regent’s Canal under our noses. The Canal life of joggers, cyclists, cafés, vegetable boxes and boats is so unique it has a life of its own.

Regents Canal CaféA perfect stop off for a Sunday morning coffee and catch up with the dog.

The Almedia TheatreA modern Studio theatre with a big reputation and a popular restaurant and café.

Exmouth MarketA loud, colourful, enticing road with lunchtime street food. On the street behind there are popular restaurants and independent shops.

The Union ChapelA working chapel hosting a variety of events including top musicians and comedians. Sitting in the pews with a glass of wine and great acoustics, listening to Midge Ure – brilliant!

“For me, it is “Country living in the centre of London” – my road

is a quiet, tree-lined, no-through road in a

conservation area, where you can hear the birds sing and park outside

of your front door! Exit my house and head left, and in 5 minutes I am in the hustle and bustle of Islington, with its many

bars, restaurants and excellent transport links.

What more could one ask for.”
