CBR is a systematized approach of
Rehabilitation, Equalization of opportunities,
& Social integration of all people with
disabilities within community development,
which is implemented by using Locally
available resources, through combined
efforts of disabled people themselves, families, &
communities; & provide appropriate health,
educational, vocational & social services.
WHAT IS CBR?
In the process, PWDs are also made
aware of their own role and
responsibility, as they are part of the
community.

WHAT IS CBR?
Islam & CBR
Islam is the complete code of life None is perfect → defects & shortcomings If all people were equal, there would be no need
for gratitude. PWDs gifted with other talents & capabilities Integral part of society (He doesn’t create
garbage) They have to be “Next to you, Not Far”
O mankind! We created you from a single pair of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may
know each other (not that ye may despise each other).
