Project will involve application of theoretical concepts to specific sector/industry. Group will have to conduct research using both primary and secondary sources to gather detailed information on following aspects of the allotted industry/sector. Industry setting and evolution of the industry Special strategic issues facing the industry (such as changes in governmental policies, changes in demographics, globalization, etc.). Industry structure Industry attractiveness, driving forces & Key success factors i.e. what does it take to succeed in this industry, Industry players and their strategies. You are also expected to discuss which strategy seems to be most successful in the industry, and why. Performance of major players of the industry (Last 3 years) Final Output: A comprehensive report outlining the above mentioned information about the industry and companies within the industry. The report shall be of about 50 pages, neatly presented in typewritten form in A4 size sheets to the PMC. Relevant appendices may be attached. Each member will individually indicate her/ his contribution in the report. The project report has to be submitted in both soft & hardcopy. The report would contain the work done by the group based on the primary and secondary data collected by the group. It would follow the sequence suggested below. 1

Viva-Voce/Presentation: From 7th Jan to 20th Jan, 2016. (Student groups shall fix up a time prior to the viva with the instructor and shall appear together in the group.)

Evaluation: It will be on the basis of group performance as well as individual performance. Project Report will be assessed on the following parameters:

Technical correctness and comprehensiveness: the degree to which prescribed content requirements have been met.

Critical Thinking: the ability to integrate information and ideas & carry out a rational and in-depth analysis and the ability to identify key strategic management issues.

Organization and writing skills: overall written communication skills, appropriateness of language, structuring and referencing.

Originality

Viva Voce will be assessed on the basis of individual contribution and learning derived from the process.
