b) The Local Maiden Representative that has been removed from her duties will retain her maidenhood status within her chapter. The new Local Maiden Representative will be chosen as stated above. (Article 3, Section 4.)

Article 5. Maidenhood Eligibility

Section 1. A full patched IOMC member must indicate a desire for his wife or significant other to become a Maiden. As her sponsor, he is responsible to ensure that her conduct is positive and does not detract from Iron Order business or operations. Unless that specific chapter has decided as a whole to not have Maidens, the decision whether or not a woman can become a Maiden rests solely with her sponsor.

a) A full patched IOMC member may only have one (1) Maiden at a time unless special approval has been granted through the Special Recognition Process. (Article 6, Section 2)

Section 2. Potential Maidens must be supporters of both the IOMC and IO Maidens.

Section 3. Maidens may only be sponsored by one (1) Iron Order member at a time.

Section 4. In the event that a Brother and a Maiden separate / divorce, special considerations will not be made unless approval is granted through the Special Recognition approval process. (Article 6, Section 2)

Article 6. Honorary Maidenhood

NOTE: Effective November 01, 2014 the International President has terminated the previous process for granting honorary maiden status, to include both Local and Nomad Honorary Maidens.

For the current process, see below in Section 2.

Section 1. All current “Honorary” and “Nomad Honoraries” will be grand-fathered and recognized under their current Chapter or with their current Nomad and must abide by the following guidelines.

a) All “Honorary” Maidens must have an IOMC brother as an “honorary” sponsor. The sponsor is responsible to ensure that her conduct is positive and does not detract from Iron Order business or operations and for communication and forum access purposes. She will not wear a sponsor patch but will wear the Honorary patch instead.

b) If the “Honorary” Maiden’s sponsor leaves the club for any reason, the Local chapter must assign her another “honorary sponsor”. Failure to do so will result in her forum access being suspended until the issue of honorary sponsorship has been resolved. I) If no “honorary” sponsor is assigned within thirty (30) days, “Honorary”

status will be terminated. II) In the case of the above involving a Nomad Honorary, her status will be

terminated unless another Nomad chooses to sponsor her. The International Board will not assign a new sponsor, but this does not prevent a Nomad from volunteering to do so.

(Article 6. Continued) Section 2. Special recognition may be granted to an individual in the rare occasion where they show

extreme loyalty and exceptional support to the IOMC. To request a new Honorary Maiden : a) The Local CP may request special recognition by contacting their National Maiden

Manager in their region and provide written documentation for why the special recognition has been requested.

b) The National Maiden Manager will then send the request to all the Maiden Managers, Maiden Liaison and the International President for considerations of this special recognition.

c) In the case of a separation/divorce between a full patched IOMC member and a Maiden, her previous sponsor must be in agreement with the Local Chapter Presidents request for Special Recognition before approval can be granted.

d) If proper contact, documentation, and approval has not been received, Special Recognition will be denied.

Section 3. An Honorary Maiden cannot transfer chapters since her “Honorary” status is attached to her sponsoring chapter. If she leaves her current chapter voluntarily or due to relocating, Honorary Maidenhood will be terminated.

a) If another chapter wishes to retain her, they must put a new request through the approval process (Article 6, Section 2) or another Full Patched IOMC brother can make her his maiden.

Section 4. Since a Maiden can only have one (1) sponsor at a time, if an IOMC Member asks an “Honorary” to be his Maiden, then the “honorary” sponsorship is terminated and the brother is now responsible for the conduct of that Maiden and she will wear the patch of her new IOMC sponsor. If after the Honorary status has been terminated, and the relationship with the brother ends, her Maidenhood status is terminated.

Section 5. All “Honorary” Maidens must comply with the guidelines and responsibilities outlined in Article 6, Section 1 and Article 8 of this document.

Section 10. General Interactions with Other Maidens. In the event that a Maiden has any issue or problem with another Maiden, she will take it to

that Maiden, Woman to Woman. If the issue is not resolved, she may take it to her sponsor, who will address the matter Brother to Brother.

Section 11. Non-compliance by a Maiden of any of these responsibilities may result in a temporary suspension from all chapter and/or Iron Order activities. Extreme Non-compliance may result in termination of Maidenhood. (Article 15 & 16)

Article 9. Maiden Precautions

Section 1. From time to time, events may arise that require the brothers to respond to unexpected situations, emergencies, or issues. In situations like this, it is essential that Maidens remain attentive yet out of the general action until either the situation is resolved or they are directed to take a particular action. In conclusion, the IO Maidens were organized to recognize the IOMC members’ wives and significant others within the club and the Motorcycle Club community at large. This

recognition is earned from the entire Iron Order family and should be considered an honor and privilege. We have a love for the club and lifestyle it provides us, as well as cherished

bonds with one another. These guidelines are to safeguard our interests and prevent over-complication. It is our duty to make sure all future Maidens will uphold the simplicity

we have set forth, so that we are guaranteed indefinite enjoyment.
