What is Nanotechnology?
What is Nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology is the world of atoms.
The are different types of nanotechnology, including nanoparticles, nanocrystals, and nanotubes.

Nanotechnology will be able to help humans in many ways, including:
Protecting our armed forces and soldiers.

Nanotechnology will be a source to increase survival in our soldiers by using new materials made using nanotechnology.

Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies
This is an institute with a goal to increasing the protection and survival rate of U.S. soldiers.
Launched with the United States Army Research center along with founding members, including Dupont® and Raytheon®

Artificial Intelligence, and Nanotechnology
Artificial Intelligence, and Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology will be used in developing new machines to enhance the future’s artificial Intelligence.Artificial intelligence is the brains of a
robot, telling it what to do. An example of this is our RCX, but the
robot in the photo to the right would have a memory much more complex.

This is what NanotechnologyMay look like in the future.

Super Uniforms Super UniformsWith nanotechnology, we could have
a uniform that could block out biological weapons, and even heal their wearers.
Using micro fibers and carbons put together with nanotechnology, we could help save the lives of thousands of soldiers.

Super HumveesSuper Humvees
A Humvee is currently the army’s primary vehicle, replacing the Jeep in 1979.
Recently, tires have been going flat in Iraq, and the army needs a solution.
Special materials in tires can help make them puncture resistant, enabling the Humvees to go faster and farther.

Improvements!!!Improvements!!!The army has been supported by aircraft
companies, including Boeing® and Lockheed Martin®, to develop stronger, yet lighter materials for military jets.
These days, a soldier can carry 130 lbs on a march(source www.forbes.com). Using nanotechnology, almost all of those materials can be lightened, making it easier to walk, maneuver, and most importantly, protect our soldiers.
We want to design a backpack that is lighter and more efficient than the ones currently used.
All of this is thanks to nanotechnology!
