We know the facts; interprofessional education and practice improves

patient outcomes and staff engagement, and helps reduce medical errors.

For over 20 years, the Center for Academic Strategic Partnerships for

Interprofessional Research and Education (ASPIRE) has advanced team-

based care through interprofessional research, scholarship, education and

clinical practice. With the support of the UVA School of Nursing, School

of Medicine, Health Science Library, and public and private grants, the

Center for ASPIRE has provided teamwork training to hundreds of UVA

graduate and undergraduate nursing and medical trainees, as well as

faculty and clinicians from a wide variety of healthcare professions.
