IOT controlled smart Devices

Hardware

• Arduino (UNO Atmega 328)

• Wi-Fi Module(ESP 8266)

• Smart devices/appliances

Arduino (UNO/Atmega)

• The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller( control device which

incorporates a microprocessor) board based on the Atmega328 .

Comments

• Arduino comes in a complete package form which includes the 5V regulator, a burner, an oscillator, a micro-controller, serial communication interface .

• You don’t have to take care of burner, fuse settings, Serial Monitor Softwares etc.

• Effortless functions• Large community• Large number of Default libraries.

Wifi Module (ESP8266)• Low-cost Wi-Fi chip with full TCP/IP stack and MCU

(microcontroller unit) capability produced by Shanghai-based Chinese manufacturer, Espressif Systems.

• The ESP8266 module is a cheap Wireless module. It has SOC(system on chip) that can handle TCP protocols

Smart devices

• Temperature and Humidity sensor• Motion sensor• Smoke detector• Ultrasonic sensor• Infrared sensor

Temperature and Humidity sensor

• It uses a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor to measure the surrounding air, and spits out a digital signal on the data pin

• Humidity measuring range: 20% ~ 9 0% RH (0-50 ) temperature compensation)

• Temperature measuring range: 0 ~ +50 C

Motion sensor• Passive infrared motion detectors (PIR) detect

emitted infrared energy – given off by humans and animals in the form of heat. When there is a sudden increase in infrared energy, an alarm is sounded

Smoke detector

A Photoelectric Type Device, uses a light source to detect smoke . If smoke is present in the room, it enters the optical chamber, having smoke particles scatter and sensor sets of the alarm.

Ultrasonic sensor

Ultrasonic Sensor sends out a high-frequency sound pulse and then times how long it takes for the echo of the sound to reflect back.

Infrared sensor

Infrared sensor is an electronic instrument which is used to sense certain characteristics of its surroundings by either emitting and/or detecting infrared radiation

Appliances

• Lights • Fan• Other appliances

Purposed smart home
