COURSE INFORMATION IOSH MANAGING SAFELY Format and length of the course. This is a four and a half day course. Morning and afternoon sessions will have a short refreshment break and there will be a light lunch served on each of the full days. It is designed to get managers up to speed on the practical actions they need to take to handle health and safety in their teams. Intended learning outcomes After completing the course the attendees will: Gain the knowledge and tools to tackle the health and safety issues they are responsible for Understand why health and safety is such an essential part of their job Manage health and safety more Effectively and efficiently bringing additional business benefits and cost reduction Content introduction on health and safety risk assessment controlling risks understanding responsibilities identifying hazards investigating accidents and incidents measuring performance and protecting our environment This course is presented with no jargon and in an innovative format which will give managers the confidence and enthusiasm to put their training into practice when they return to work. Confirmation of understanding Students will sit a written exam on day five of the course and will need to submit a project based upon their job, including hazard management and risk assessments, which will confirm their understanding of the subject.
