Amatola Water Board is a state-owned, South African water utility established in November 1997 and is mandated to render water services to water sector institutions, to local government and other customers in the Eastern Cape.

Invitation and Scope of WorkTender No. AW-PROC/086A: Construction of 5Ml Reservoir and Flocculation ChamberTenders are invited for the construction of a 5Ml High Level Concrete Reservoir and a Flocculation chamber at Sterkspruit Water Treatment Works. Only tenderers who are registered with the CIDB, or are capable of being so prior to the evaluation of submissions, in a contractor grading designation equal to or higher than a contractor grading of 6CE, and those who satisfy the criteria stated in the tender data, will be eligible to tender.

Tender No. AW-PROC/086B: Construction of 2km uPVC PipelineTenders are invited for the construction of a 2km, 160mm uPVC Pipeline from the Eastern Bulk Main to the Voyizana booster pumpstation. Only tenderers who are registered with the CIDB, or are capable of being so prior to the evaluation of submissions, in a contractor grading designation equal to or higher than a contractor grading of 3CE, and those who satisfy the criteria stated in the tender data, will be eligible to tender.

Compulsory Pre-Tender Clarification and Site MeetingA compulsory pre-tender clarification meeting for both tenders will be held at 11:00 on Thursday 17th June 2010 at Sterkspruit Water Treatment Works, 1 Herschel Road, Sterkspruit. The meeting site is located at the following co-ordinate points:

Tender Conditions • Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA) principles shall apply,

whereby submissions will be evaluated accordingly to the provisions of the Act. • Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Status will be scored in

accordance with the DTI Codes of Good Practice and bidders must submit their valid B-BBEE verification certificate, as issued by a SANAS accredited verification agency, with their tender, in order to be eligible for B-BBEE points.

• Thefollowingevaluationcriteriawillbeapplied:Price70points,Quality20pointsandB-BBEE 10 points.

• AmatolaWaterdoesnotbinditselftoacceptthelowestoranytenderandreservestheright to accept any tender.

• Tenderswhichare late, incomplete,unsignedorsubmittedelectronicallywillnotbeaccepted.

• Alltendersaretoremainvalidforaperiodofninety(90days)fromtheclosingdateofthe submission.

• ATaxClearanceCertificate(anoriginalSARScertificate)mustbesubmittedwiththetender document in order to be considered.

• FailuretocompleteallsupplementaryinformationandtheReturnableSchedulesmayresultinthetenderbeingdeemednullandvoid(eliminated).

• Tender Forms (Form C1.1: Form of Offer and Acceptance) that are incomplete orincorrectly completed will result in the disqualification of the tender.
