TECHNICAL SKILLS (1)

ALFA MECCANICA activity is mainly focused on “high precision machining”.

The internally performed operations are:

3-4-5 axis NC milling, NC turning NC multi axis turning EDM operations (die sinking and wire cutting) trimming and drilling of honeycomb panels (both with aluminum

alloys skins or with carbon fibers skins) ND Controls (F.P. Inspections) manual GTA welding dynamic balancing operations, assembling operations (bushings, bearings, inserts, nuts) functional tests of manufactured components (pressure tests,

flow tests)

ALFA MECCANICA is used to work with all aerospace high technology materials as

Aluminum Alloys, Stainless Steels, Titanium Alloys, Nickel Alloys(Inconel, Hastelloy),

etc… and very often also to manage the raw material procurement process from

properly certified and controlled Suppliers

TECHNICAL SKILLS (2)

ALFA MECCANICA is supported by a network of properly selected and certified supplier Companies to perform several non destructive controls and special processes as, for instance:

NC grinding non destructive controls (FPI-RX-MPI) Laboratory controls (as metallurgic controls of raw materials) heat treatments forming of sheet metal parts normal and vacuum brazing operations welding operations surface treatments (painting, oxidations, plasma coatings

application, etc.) Shot peening operations Titanium cleaning

In case of external processes utilization ALFA MECCANICA normally carries the full

responsibility of the finished parts.

“Production Engineering Department” is equipped with four CAD-CAM workstations

and the proper software to receive from Customers 2D-3D files (CATIA 5 and

ENOVIA VPLM software to manage CATIA files) and to generate internally all the NC

programs for the machining centers using CAD-CAM software (as MOLD PLUS,

WORK EXPLORER – MASTER CAM- WORK NC, etc..).

During the development phase of new products ALFA MECCANICA very often

supports Customers with “concurrent engineering” activity with the target of

obtaining the best compromise between the engineering requirements and the

associated manufacturing costs.

MAIN CUSTOMERS / SAMPLES OF RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS (1)

Samples of some recent achievements:

The development (design and manufacturing under AVIO AERO control), of a

new configuration of six AGB adapters manufactured starting from bars

instead of from castings with the target of improving the quality of the

finished parts and the reliability of the manufacturing process.

The production in very short time (three weeks from drawings availability)of

the first sets of parts for new Commercial Airplane Development Program

(two wing brackets in Aluminum Alloy and of a significant number of

components of the Airplane Flap Structure and Fairing in Titanium Alloy).

ALFA MECCANICA MAIN PECULIARITIES

ALFA MECCANICA is very appreciated by current Customers for the following main

characteristics:

Very flexible Customer oriented production organization

Prototypes manufacturing capability, built up mainly in Space Business,

that means the habit of working following Engineering instructions (as

generated during development Programs) and the attitude of obtaining

good parts at the first shot.

Excellent performances (both for quality of parts and consistent on time deliveries ) in production programs.

ALFA MECCANICA could be considered a “potential Supplier” by new Customers because of the following characteristics:

Financially sound Company (demonstrated by the significant investments

made during the still in place world wide crisis period). As a matter of fact

in 2008 ALFA MECCANICA moved from the previous plant of 1500 square

meters to a new plant of about 10.000 square meters, of which 5700 are

now covered, ready for several new machining centers installation.

Since 2008 five new machining centers, 2 EDM new machines and a ND

testing facility have been installed. As a consequence the staff has grown

from 30 persons in 2008 to the actual 50 persons.

Significant expansion capability of Production Activity (available in a short time) due to:

o the brand new machining centers/tools installed o the covered area still available for new machine tools installation o the present level of activity (one shift + two shifts for 3 lathes and 3

machining centers )
