Spring 2013 COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis course introduces the student to the interpersonal dynamics of crisis counseling from a biblically-based and Christ-centered perspective. The student will be presented with an overview of the crises that can impact the individual and the family and will be given practical ministry guidelines to promote pastoral care and healing. The course will include instruction on the application of biblical principles to crisis situations, practical guidance in helping others recover from the losses of life, the phases of a crisis, and the process of crisis intervention. Topics will include trauma, death, suicide, loss, and grief and their impact on the family unit including children and adolescents.
