REVISION TIPS

If we look at education as a three-legged stool: one leg is the teacher, one leg is the student and one leg is the parent or carer. Each leg of the stool needs to make an equal contribution to stay balanced. It is clear that parental/carer engagement and involvement makes a significant difference to the educational outcomes of young people. It is your support of their learning within the home environment that makes the maximum difference to their achievement.

As we move away from coursework to summative examinations it is crucial the students learn good habits and routines around preparing and revising for an assessment. Contained within thisbooklet are the topics and skills that will be assessed as well as useful strategies and websites to use for revision. In addition, subject teachers will be setting homework and class tasks thatconsolidate learning and prepare students for success in their end of year assessment.

End of year assessments for all core subjects will be taking place in the sports hall in preparation for mocks at Christmas and the real GCSE’s next summer. Students will be given an exam timetable before half term and option subject exams will be completed during lesson time.
