• Shield Volcano • Built from layers of runny lava from multiple quiet eruptions
• Shallow, broad slope creating a flat, wide volcano
• Example – Name: Mauna Kea– Location: Hawaii

• Composite Volcano • Alternates between quiet and violent eruptions
