Career Essentials, an afterschool work-readiness and career exploration program for high school students (October 15 - February 4) The Internship Program, a paid mentored internship program, with work-readiness training and career exploration activities o Fall 2018: Rolling applications; limited internship opportunities; interns work 10-12 hours per week after school Fall Finance Internship Program, a paid mentored internship program at Morgan Stanley, with work-readiness training and career exploration activities for students interested in pursuing a career in the Finance field. Interns work 10-12 hours per week and there are limited opportunities. Deadline to apply is September 23, 2018. Please see below for more detailed information about these programs. Career Essentials Students in the Career Essentials program attend one orientation and thirteen weekly two- hour workshops, each held in our office in the Financial District. Participants in the program learn how to professionally interview, present information to a group, behave in a professional environment, manage their time, and create an effective resume. Each student also participates in two career exploration field trips that give them a chance to learn about different industries and network with professionals who are willing to share career advice and insights from their own lives. Career Essentials affords students an opportunity to learn and form relationships with other students from all five boroughs. Students will receive a small stipend upon successfully completing the program. Accepted students will attend the program from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays this fall from the week of October 15 th through the week of February 4 th . The program is open to all high school students in New York City, but we consider it especially appropriate for underclassmen to prepare them for future internship opportunities. We have 100 total spots available for this fall. Applications for Career Essentials are due September 21 st . Interested students can apply online at this link; if you have any questions please email [email protected]. The Internship Program During the school year, students in The Internship Program participate in paid internships; they work between 10 and 12 hours per week at a New York City business, non-profit organization, or government agency. Additionally, interns receive ongoing support from Futures and Options staff and attend regular work-readiness workshops and career exploration field trips. The program is open to New York City high school students 16 years of age or older.

Program Description

Internship Opportunity: Participants work 10-15 hours per week after school in paid mentored internships in the finance sector.

Career Development: Interns attend work-readiness training and career exploration workshops during the program

Internship Wage: $13.00/hour (NYS Minimum Wage) Futures and Options Support: Program coordinators provide

interns with guidance, mentoring and on-site visits.
