3.26 Major Activities during the year in the sphere of extension activities and Institutional Social Responsibility
• Social Awareness Rally to create awareness about anti dowry, anti tobacco, save girl child, save water, pollution, free environment, tree plantation, illiteracy. Swach bharat abhiyan, iodine deficiency, anti corruption in the people was organized through NCC
• Our NSS volunteer Ku .Shraddha Jalgawkar actively participated in the State level Training Camp on Disaster Preparedness, organised by SNDT women’s University, Mumbai from 25 May -3 June 2015.
• On 26th August 2015 an awareness seminar was organised for two hours by NSS unit for the students by Sankalp Education Academy on Employment Opportunities in Banking Sector. About 300 students attended this seminar.
• A poster painting competition was conducted in the college. The students made about 50 posters pertaining to the various issues of education such as necessity of education, educational problems of girl child, career options and social responsibility. The posters were on display in the college notice board for a week to bring about awareness among other students
• The volunteers actively participated in the Cleanliness Drive Campaign initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They cleaned the entire college premises. The volunteers took an oath to devote weekly 2 hours (yearly 100 hours) for Cleanliness and to continue the chain by involving 100 community people and to spread the awareness of Cleanliness.
• On 18th January, 50 NSS volunteers administered pulse polio drops to children of different areas of Gandheli. NSS volunteers went door to door for administration of pulse polio drops to children in the residential areas especially for those who could not attend the Pulse Polio Centre
• Participation in NSS Republic day parade camp was a matter of great pride of our college Our NSS Volunteer Asif Shaikh was selected for NSS Republic Day parade. . He got an opportunity to participate and give command to N.S.S. Indian troop in the RD parade on Rajpath in New Delhi on the day of 26, January, 2016 .
• For consequentially three years our NSS volunteers are being selected for SRD parade. Our NSS Volunteer Ku. Sandhya Shinde was selected for SRD parade this year. She was gave an excellent performance on 26th January at Mumbai.
• A cycle rally was organized for “Save The Girl Child” on 27th June through NCC • A walkathon was organized by Rashtraprerak Yuva Sanstha on account of Youth

• Dept. Of Home Science Study on SNP of ICDS in Aurangabad District,. Conducted meeting with 25 AWW and 15 Helper, in AWC Turkabad Taluka Gangapur . Dist Aurangabad Conducted survey on FOOD HABITS
• .Dr.Pramila Bhujade of NSS gives ‘Sharma Saphalya’award for NSS best Volunteer to understand the dignity of labour.
• Smt.S.T.Vasekar of Dept.of sociology initiated an activity ‘Vruttavedh’ based on the collection of information through newspaper cuttings related with socio economic issues.

Criterion – V 5. Student Support and Progression
5.1 Contribution of IQAC in enhancing awareness about Student Support Services
5.2 Efforts made by the institution for tracking the progression
Contribution of IQAC in enhancing awareness about student Support services can be elaborated as follows:
1. Cultural committee is formed to motivate students to participate in various cultural activities conducted at local, university, state and national level.
2. Sports department is active in motivating students to participate in various National and International sport events. 3. Examination committee and internal co-ordination marks committee is formed for tracking the progress of the students.
4. IQAC runs ‘Earn and Learn’ scheme for students through financial aid from University
5. IQAC organizes industrial academic visit to expose the students for practical experience.
6. The college has made provision in the areas of student welfare, field study and educational tour etc.
7. IQAC makes the students aware about various scholarships.
8. Discipline and Anti-Ragging committees observe discipline in the college.
1. Department of Home Science maintains contact numbers of all the students, particularly post graduate students.
2. Home science club is formed which is involved in departmental activities
3.Anniversary and Important Events Committee organised various programmes like celebration of anniversaries and different competitions like organising lectures ,dental health check up, Poster exhibition, study tour, One day workshop on Introduction to Constitution ,made constitution available for reading and many such programmes throughout the year.

1 . Six students attended workshop ‘SANKHYKI’ at Narsee Munjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai on 20-21/11/2015. The workshop was on ‘Campus to Corporate, career in Statistics and Analytics.

3.Career Guidance & Counselling committee organised following activities
i.Amol Sonawane delivered a lecture on preparing for the TISS, Mumbai on
03.07.2015. Amol is an alumnus of the college and is presently taking the Human
Resource Management course in TISS. He was felicitated on this occasion.
ii.Prathamesh Kharat delivered a lecture on preparing for Gokhale Institute of
Economics & Politics, Pune on 22.07.2016. Prathamesh is an alumnus of the college
and is presently taking the PG course in Agriculture Economics Management in
Gokhale Institute of Economics & Politics, Pune. He was felicited on this occasion.
iii.Amol Sonawane gifted eight books on various topics useful for preparing for
competitive examinations for aspiring students.
iv.A Workshop on Mental Ability and Reasoning was organized on 23.12.2015.
Amol Sonawane was the resource person.

College conducts departmental activities to enhance the practical knowledge of the subject. Following departments introduced various innovative activities for the students-
1. Department of Music organized Indian classical music concert, Gazal Gayan and Thumari & Dadara. This activity helped the students to learn the art of performance.
2. Department of History organized a visit to History Museum in Dr.B.A.M.University in the month of January. It was very informative for all the students. Students of History arranged Poster Exhibition. Department also arranged a visit to Aurangabad Caves. These practices gave practical experience to the students
3. Department of English arranged elocution, debate and essay writing competition. This gave encouragement for the creativity amongst students.
4. Department of Home Science organised demonstration and hands on training in paper/cloth bag making. This activity was helpful to create awareness about environment friendly activities in the institution. Fruits and vegetable preservation training was helpful to inculcate entrepreneurial skill among girl students.
5. Department of Hindi organized Essay Writing and Poetry recitation competition for students on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. Literary Association of the students Formed by the department is actively organizing various events. These activities are helpful to introduce Hindi Literature to the students.
6. Department of Microbiology arranged guest lecture of experts on the following topics-‘Fascinating World of Microbes’, ‘Enzymes’, ‘Fermentation Technology’ and Water Pollution-Causes and Remedies’. Department encouraged students to attend workshop on DNA Technology in Deogiri College. All such activities enriched students by new trends in the subject.
7. Department of Statistics visited NSSO, Aurangabad. This activity helped students to understand the data collection, analysis and publication of statistical reports. Students of statistics attended workshop on ‘Campus to Corporate, career in statistics’ in Mumbai.
8. Library organizes Book Exhibition on the important occasions like birth anniversaries of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam , Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. This practice is helpful for students and staff to create awareness regarding rare collection of books. Library conducts orientation for students.
9. Department of Zoology organized model and charts competition for the students. Wall paper ZOO NEWS practice is very helpful to know the updates in life sciences. Excursion was organized to katraj zoo and snake park ,Pune.
10. Publication of NAVRAS college magazine is a regular practice of the college. It is an important source of expressions and interests of the students.
11. One day study tour to Yevala, Kalaram mandir Nashik and other places of Nashik related to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was organized by Anniversary and important events celebration committee. This tour was organized on 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
12. Girls and boys hostel students organizes various activities on the occasion of Ganpati Festival and Birth anniversary of Kranti Jyoti Savitribai Phule. Lecture series was organized for seven days during Ganpati Festival.

Best Practices I
1. Title of the Practices : State Level Elocution Competition sponsored by Alumni
2. Goal :-
The aim of this practice is to bring as many students as possible from across the state under one roof and discuss about the prevailing issues.
3. The Content :-
The college has a rich tradition of participation and bagging prizes in various inter – collegiate, and state level elocution and debate competitions, keeping this in view the alumni decided to hold state level debate competition annually.
4. The Practice :-
The college along with Alumni organized an Elocution competition on 16th January 2016. It received an over whelming response from across the state. The topics for the competition were.

Prizes of Rs. 5000/-, 3000/-, 2000/-, 1000/- and 2 consolation prizes were given. A separate Prize of Rs.1000 was given to student from rural area.
