The ILO is devoted to promoting social justice and internationally recognized human and
labour rights, pursuing its founding mission that social justice is essential to universal and lasting
peace.
The choice of internship at the ILO Office for Japan is mainly due to three considerations. The
first one is based on the significance of the ILO’s work, and to contribute to the promotion of
social justice. The second one is to expand the international perspective with the accumulation of
practical experience. The third one is familiarize with the culture of international organizations,
and to further enhance the ability to work in a diverse environment. The internship has provided
me with enrichment and improvement of information and skills.
Office main duties:
― Representation
― Liaison with constituents and other partners
― Public Relations (inc. holding events)
― Research
According to the needs of work, you can make full use of bilingual work. Transfer work
information from Geneva headquarters in a timely manner, and support the office’s public
information efforts. It is also a great feature to learn while working, and to learn more about the
latest work of the ILO.
In Omote-sando, the greatest pleasure is sure to find a variety of delicacies during lunch break.
Do not be surprised to meet famous entertainers sometimes.
Whether it is a novice or a departing partner, you
may receive an invitation from everyone to have
lunch. This is also the best gathering, with a
harmonious atmosphere and free speech.
“Decent Work can lift whole communities out of
poverty and underpins human security and social
peace... It is not just a goal – it is a driver of
sustainable development.”
Guy Ryder,
ILO Director-General
In the era of economic globalization, being familiar with a multicultural work environment,
serve more people in need of support, and make my own contribution to the promotion of social
justice in the future.
If you are willing to engage in such a meaningful work in ILO, please don’t hesitate to register.
This is also the first step toward this goal.
