The main aim of the project is to control devices according to weather conditions based on high sensitive sensors.
AIM:
INTRODUCTION
We all know that the modern industries are focusing in automation of
their processes where all the works is being done by automated
machines and the role of man power is decreasing day-by-day.
This project is an extension of the industrial automation to domestic
side for better utilization of energy.
Here we are planning and working on automation of lighting system
of rooms.
Through this project we will be able to control the lights as well as its
illumination.
In short we will be able to control the lights qualitatively as well as
quantitatively.
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
Here we are taking into account
Human Presence.
Daylight level.
Amount of illuminance.
Region of presence in a large room.
No. of persons in the room.
COMPONENTS
The main components used are as follows:
1.Microcontroller AT89C51.
2.Timer IC555.
3.Infrared sensors
4.LED.
5.Relay.
6.Transistors as a switch.
7.LDR(Light Dependent Resistor)

CIRCUIT
A smaller computer.On-chip RAM, ROM, I/O ports...Example: Motorola’s 6811, Intel’s 8051, Zilog’s Z8 and PIC 16X.
Microcontroller:

RELAY:A Relay is an electrically controllable switch widely used in industrial
controls, automobiles, etc…
inductor
The relay's switch connections are usually labeled COM, NC and NO:
COM = Common, always connect to this, it is the moving part of the switch.
NC = Normally Closed, COM is connected to this when the relay coil is off.
NO = Normally Open, COM is connected to this when the relay coil is on.
OPERATION OF RELAY:
Transistor can be used as an electronic switch, in
grounded-emitter configuration.
How the Transistor act as a switch ?
what is a transistor?
A transistor is a semi conductor device commonly used to
amplify or switch electronic signals.
LIGHT EMITTING DIODE (LED)
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light
source. LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many
devices, and are increasingly used for lighting.
An LDR is an input transducer (sensor) which converts brightness (light) to resistance. It is made from cadmium sulphide (CdS) and the resistance decreases as the brightness of light falling on the LDR increases.
Light Dependent Resistor (LDR):
In this project we are working to automatically turn ON & OFF
lights as a person enters or leaves the room or a part of the room or
the region in which we want to control the lights.
Not only this we will also control the lights of a big hall by turning
on the lights of that part only in which someone will be present
keeping the remaining lights off.
Through this we will also manage the quantity of light required
and accordingly turn ON the lights. Eg- Working on PC and reading
a book does not require same amount of light.
DESCRIPTION
THIS SYSTEMS PROVIDE THE ABILITY TOAUTOMATICALLY POWER A
DEVICE BASED ON PROGRAMMING
INTERFACES ALLOW USERS THE ABILITY TOTOGGLE POWER TO LIGHTS AND FANS, DIM LIGHTS,AND PROGRAM LIGHTING AND AC LEVELS.
APPLICATION:It can also be use to control the lights in conference halls, libraries, schools, colleges, industries, hospitals, theatres, etc.
It can also be used at railway stations, bus stands, airports, etc aswe all know lights are turned ON through out the day.
It can also be used to control lights on highways and city roads.
In short we can find its use at every single place where lights areused.
This project can also be extended to control a no. of other devicesalso like fans, Air conditioners, etc.
To save the power and reduce the human energy in the normal conditions based on sensors to control the devices.
We can control devices depend on sensor values. So, we can save power also. By using this we can implement a power management system with bidirectional visitors counting.
