and one of a constituent Campuses of Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
The IOF, founded as Nepal Forestry Institute in Singh Durbar,
Kathmandu, in 1947, was shifted to Suping (BhimPhedi) in 1957 and
again to Hetauda in 1965. The IOF was run by the Department of
Forests until July 1972, when it was incorporated into the Tribhuvan
University, where it started its new existence as the Institute of
Forestry. In order to meet the growing demands for skilled and
competent forest and natural resource professionals in the country,
the IOF-PC has been administering well designed educational
programs in academic environment conducive to fulfilling students’
quest for knowledge and pragmatic skills through their involvement in
course work and research activities.

Doctoral Program in Forestry run under the IOF Dean’s Office. .
Objective:
The objective of IOF-PC is to produce competent, efficient and
practically oriented forest and natural resource professionals
through well-structured educational programs run in an
academic environment conducive to effective teaching,
learning and research in order to address practical problems
as well as current needs and interest of the nation and the
world in forestry and allied fields.
As teaching and research at PC preserve and enrich the creative learning traditions, it dreams to become a center of excellence in forestry and related fields by developing suitable working environment with proper planning and management of the available resources, faculty and staff.
