I welcome all of you in the 8th Year of The RCD Megapolis and special welcome to the members of our Interact Club of The Frank Anthony Public School. Megapolis in these eight years has seen its ups and downs and as you have been informed by Sanjiv and IPP Tarun, last year has been the best so far, with membership increasing from 9 as on 1st July 2009 to 23 as on 30th June 2010. The Club has the right balance of youth and experience in terms of age and the number of years put in Rotary service.

All this under the able leadership of our IPP Tarun Vohra, and in appreciation I have no hesitation in saying this on behalf of the entire club

Thank You Tarun

Taufa Kabul Karo.

I joined Rotary five years ago in 2005 and the first thing that attracted me was the relentless efforts of Rotary and Rotarians for eradication of Polio. I was always present at our Polio Booth on every NID without fail. These past five years have been both fascinating and fulfilling for me. But until last year, when my club members decided that I should be the President for the year 2010-11 believe me

JUST THE THOUGHT BROUGHT BUTTERFLIES IN MY TUMMY

The preparations for the this year started from 4th October last year itself when our First President Elect Meet took place and thereafter PEM -2, PEM-3 and finally Presidents-Elect Training

Seminar in the month of May this year in Amritsar.

PETS was not just fun and frolic

But is was serious business as well . There were regular sessions

where our learned PDG`s and other District Officials apprised us of our job responsibilities and how to carry them out effectively, the objectives of Rotary and how to achieve them in the coming year.

Although the training was tough

But it also gave us an opportunity to express ourselves.

And above all our DG Amit ji apprised us about the thought behind the theme for the year 2010-11.

How R.I President Rtn.Ray Klinginsmith translated the five avenues of service in 4 simple words to explain to the Non Rotarians of the world what Rotary does

BUILDING COMMUNITIES BRIDGING CONTINENTS .

Tarun has set the bar. We have to reach there and try to better it. We have a lot to do this year. I have set certain targets for myself

and my Team which I would like to share with all of you.

Koshish, our pilot project of imparting non formal education to children of the migrant laborers and daily wages earners, and E-learning under the same banner, would continue to be my top priority.

I will work tirelessly to eradicate polio from our District and our country.

`Khoon Daan Maha Daan` , this area was slightly neglected last year, but I assure you all my team will go all out to compensate for the last year as well. We Conducted 7 Eye camps and 190 cataract operations. I am committed to doing that this year as well.

I am working towards a matching grant to start an X-Ray facility and a maternity and child care facility under the Rotary banner in a charity hospital coming up in Najafgarh with our cooperating partner Human Care International. Water Conservation and Sanitation would be another area of focus for me in the coming year and we have applied for the matching grants for these two projects as well.

Children are both our investments and returns. Rotary International recognizes the untapped potential of young boys and girls and gives them an opportunity to foster their active interest in the community and develop into leaders with high Integrity. Megapolis is sponsoring its first Interact club of ‘The Frank Anthony Public School’ and the office bearers will have the privilege of being pinned today. There are more schools we are in talks with, for many more Interact Clubs.

Dear Amit ji, I assure you that with the help of every member of the club, our club trainer, who undoubtedly is the Best Rotarian in the district

And my dedicated TEAM

And with the support of the ever helpful District officials

we will work towards Building Communities and Bridging Continents. And make you and the District proud.

We are a young and promising club with high aspirations and

determination to make a difference. And when this question

comes up in the club,CAN WE DO IT? There is only one

answer that comes out, the same answer that US President Barak

Obama gave his voters,

“YES WE CAN”.

Before I hand over the mike to Rt. Anne Jyotsna Dyal to introduce the Team for the year 2010-11,

I would like to once again thank you all for being part of today’s ceremony.

Enjoy the Evening.
