Flat Casing is not compa ble with other Milgard Window or Door offerings.

Do not use Flat Casing on other manufacturers’ products.

Window or Door must be properly installed and flashed prior to Flat Casing installa on.

Milgard Nail Fin Flat Casing does not provide structural support or func on as a water barrier.

6 Remove screw boss from End Cap. Score both sides and snap.

7 Place two Secondary Sill Keys on each end of Sill. Space Keys 2” apart on center.

Skip to Step 8 for Sill Nose without Horns

Repeat for other end of Sill Nose.

Place outer Key against End Cap. Repeat for other end of Sill Nose.

Note: Leg Trim will help align Secondary Sill Keys in correct loca ons.

9 Install #8 x 5/8" Flat Head Screw through Sill into Variable End Cap


10 Place two Secondary Sill Keys on each end of Sill. Space Keys 2” apart on center.

11 Lay out Flat Casing outside face down on a flat surface.

12 Fit joints together.

Note: It is possible to make Flush or Horn Joints with the same parts. Make sure the Sill Nose has the correct joints before moving on to Step 13.

Install Screws

13 Locate all Screw Holes. With Screw halfway ghtened, rotate screw head un l second Corner Key Screw Hole appears.

14 Inject sealant into exposed hole of Corner Keys (half a squeeze per Corner Key).

Repeat for all miter corners.

15 Install #8 x 5/8” Flat Head Screws.

Start screw into second hole and ghten un l head is flush with Flat Casing. Finish

ghtening first Screw.

Note: Sill Joint may have an extra hole on the back of the Flat Casing Legs. The open holes allow different Joint types. There are not any missing parts.

Tighten screws un l flush with Flat Casing.

Sill Nose

Make sure Secondary Sill Key is against End Cap. Tighten screw un l flush with Flat Casing.

Make sure Variable Sill Horns are the same length.

Measure top and bo om of trim assembly to verify equal lengths.

Space Trim Clip 1.5” away from Corner. Tap two Trim Clips into each corner.

If installing Flat Casing with Sill Nose, do not install Trim Clips in Window Sill Accessory Groove.

17 Install Trim Clips onto Window Frame.

Spacing between Trim Clips should not exceed 4 . Add addi onal Trim Clips where necessary for a more secure fit.

If any side of the Window is 47” or longer, tap Trim Clips into side.

19 Place clear or color matched sealant into accessory groove along full length of sill.

18 Apply 1/4” diameter 2” long beads of sealant to back of Flat Casing. Space beads 18” apart.

20 Push Flat Casing onto Window Frame un l it seats fully.

When installing Flat Casing with Sill Nose, slide Sill Nose lip into Window Frame Accessory Groove.

Wipe up any excess sealant.
