is not necessary to set these switches at this point in the Aculab installation.

Cloning Aculab Protocols

If a protocol is not listed in the Aculab Card Configuration protocol list (Step 12b), it could be because the

desired protocol is a derivative of one of the generic protocols listed. MELCAS is a good example. In this case,

clone a listed Aculab protocol and call it MELCAS.

Updating Aculab Firmware Files

The Syntellect Aculab CD contains CCS (ISDN) and CAS protocols that may be more recent than those

delivered in the standard installation documented above. These newer protocols and their Readmes reside

in the CD’s \CCS Firmware and \CAS Firmware directories. These files (Files with .P4R extensions) can be

copies into the Aculab installation directory (Step 6, above), \Program Files\Aculab\GUIInstaller\Firmware.

This can be done manually or by executing the firmwareUpdate.bat batch file located at the root of the CD.

Copying Aculab DLLs

Aculab installation does not copy necessary dlls from its directory to \Winnt\system32.

1. Copy “C:\Program Files\Aculab\API\Speech\dll\proslib.dll” to “C:\winnt\system32”

2. Copy “C:\Program Files\Aculab\API\Call\dll\acuapi.dll” to “C:\winnt\system32”

Copying Aculab Utilities to the Vista System

The Syntellect Aculab CD contains various tools and utilities that may be needed for diagnostic purposes in

the future. It is recommended that you copy all of these to a directory on the Vista system.

The utilities reside in \Tools and Utilities. Copy them to c:\Aculab\Tools and Utilities (create the directory).
