Students Corner A Poem by Ruqayya Shaheed Khan BBA-8

Life At SZABIST

With anxiety and fear I look around,

Fresh faces and environment, everything so profound.

Aware I was of getting ragged and bullied,

Yet this was something I couldn't concede.

Peals of laughter always echoed when I passed.

I pacified myself saying “this wouldn't last"

Few introductions here and there,

Proved to alleviate most of my fears.

Slowly with days new friends were made,

some left but most stayed.

Days began passing with fun and enjoyment,

Lots of outings, activities and assignments.

After every three weeks were the hourly,

Studying the last minute made us cranky.

Yet we managed to ace our tests,

because to the teachers we made several help requests.

Every reason we found to bunk the lectures,

escaping all teachers and hiding in the corners.

The semester ended and a new one began,

the same cycle started all over again.

Four years of college have gone by,

to the days of glory we say goodbye.

Now we reminisce the bygone days,

The parties, merrymaking and the birthdays.
