MICRO PELLETSThe development and manufacture of pellets and micro pellets are among the primary core competencies of Umang

Pharmatech. The micro particles or microspheres, microcapsules, micro pellets have been used for different purposes in

pharmaceuticals which are falling in the size range of 100 – 600 micron solid particles over extended period of time. A major

breakthrough occurred when potential application of candy seeds in sustained release preparations was realized and

embarked on the development of tiny (micro) drug pellets that could be loaded in capsules. Not only was the process directly

applicable to drug candidates, but also the candy seeds or nonpareils, upon drugs were layered, with or without sustaining

material. However, it was the major success of the long acting cold remedy that partially fuelled a renewed interest in the

development of extended release Pelletization micro products. Micro pellets are preferably used when taste masking of APIs

must be provided (e.g. for ODTs, oral liquids, sachets, stick packs, dry suspensions, Rapid Mouth Dissolving Films). Taste

masked micro pellets are an interesting preparation in particular for paediatric, geriatric and veterinary drug products. Micro

the MUPS tablets with different pellet quantity or combining pellets.

HOTMELTUmang Hot-melt extrusion (UHME) has been used in the

pharmaceutical and food industries since the 90s. In the

1990s, Umang Pharmatech recognized it as a promising

technology for enhancing the solubility and bioavailability of

poorly soluble actives.

Umang Pharmatech Uncompromising quality.

Umang Hot Melt Extrusion is a continuous process which utilizes either one or two screws housed in a heated jacket. The

polymer is melted by the heated jacket and mixed with the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) by the screw which also

forces it through the die, where the polymer cools and transitions back to the solid state. The extruder can be configured with

multiple heating and cooling zones. Ingredients can be injected at multiple points along the length of the extrusion barrel, which

is usually equipped with ports to accommodate sensors for monitoring the extrusion process. UHME is a very flexible process.

Once optimized UHME can achieve high production outputs and can be used for forming a variety of solid dosage forms,

including tablets, transdermals, thin films and suppositories.

Sustain Release Pellets are standard technology from Micro

Pellets to standard size to 1mm Pellet. Coating can be applied

from water and organic solvent based liquids. Fluid bed

Coating is a standard process for coating. Our facility can

design water / Solvent based coatings for sustain release

technology. In special cases top coat of drug layers and critical

functional coatings can be applied on pellets with the highest

precision on our equipments.

ENTERIC COATED PELLETSThe advantages of encapsulated enteric-coated pellets as

dosage forms are discussed. An enteric-coated tablet may

take from approximately 0.5 to more than 8 hr to pass from the

stomach to the duodenum.. It is hypothesized that enteric-

coated pellets will reduce intestinal side effects that may occur

with enteric-coated tablet preparations. . Umang Pharmatech

has done various advance research of enteric coated pellets

formulated using fluidized bed. Three separate layers, the drug

layer, the barrier layer, and the enteric layer, are coated onto

the inert core pellets. The pellets are optimized with the acid

resistance and drug release in simulated intestinal fluid. The

concentration of the enteric polymer plays a vital role in acid

resistance, while the type of enteric polymer affected the drug

release in simulated intestinal fluid.

POROUS SPHERESPorous spheres are new invention in solid dosage form design.

It is considered to provide Pharmacokinetics advantages

compared to monolithic dosage forms. Typically porous

spheres can be filled with actives to define a extension to your

new product life cycle. Different dosage strengths existing

similar drug release characteristics can be achieved from one

blend by varying the formulation.


CUT FILMSUmang cut fast dissolving film formulation is a unique

formulation filled in capsules that disintegrate 5 times faster

than standard pellets. These films can work in a pH dependant

Umang Transdermal drug delivery system has many advantages over conventional modes of drug administration, it provides

a controlled predetermined rate release of medicaments, it avoids hepatic metabolism, ease of termination of therapy and long

duration of action. Basic layout of a Umang Transdermal Patch Umang Transdermal dosage forms are formulations that are

applied to the skin for systemic absorption. It enables administration of specific quantities of a drug by a patient for a long

duration of time. They are usually in the form of patches which allows delivery of a drug at controlled rates. A transdermal patch

is a medicated patch which is approximately less than 40cm2 in size. The basic structure of a patch comprises of a clear

backing which is impermeable to any external matter such as moisture, a drug reservoir which contains the active

bitterness of pharmaceutical medicines plays a critical role in patient compliance, as the oral administration of bitter drugs is

often hampered by their unpleasant taste which leads to non-compliance and further worsening of diseased condition.
