♦♦♦♦♦ They have been divided into four on the basis of their origin. ♦♦♦♦♦ Fold mountains, block mountains, relict mountains and volcanic mountains were the example of different forms of mountains. ♦♦♦♦♦ Fold mountains are higher when compared to other mountains. ♦♦♦♦♦ Folding of the plates cause fold mountains to form ♦♦♦♦♦ Himalayas, Alps, Andes, the Rockies are the example of fold mountains. ♦♦♦♦♦ The block mountains are formed as result of uplight of land forms due to faulting. ♦♦♦♦♦ These mountains have flat tops and steep sides. ♦♦♦♦♦ Due to the different weathering processes of prolonged duration, the rocks that are not very resistant get disintegrated and only those resitant part remain. These mountains are called residual mountains. ♦♦♦♦♦ Climate, mineral wealth, Hydro - electric power etc are the various features that dicribes the influence of moutains on man.
