DIFFERENT TYPES OF TV ADVERTS

• Promotional ad/ Product placement: This particular advert is provided by marketers of businesses to increase sales of their product, this can range from clothing adverts to cleaning product adverts

• Sponsorship: This advert follows a television program, or appears before or during the breaks

• Political: These adverts follow the voting system and tries to appeal to the citizens of a certain area to persuade them to vote for a certain party to win an election

• Infomercial: These adverts are often known as teleshopping and shown from the late hours of night to the early hours of the morning, these adverts usually run for a much longer time than other adverts, they can stream for about 30 minutes

• Network Promos: Television adverts which are shown often e.g. compare the market

TARGET AUDIENCE

The target audience of my advert will be young women aged 16-25. To ensure I achieve the intended target audience I will use models of the target age mentioned to display who the clothes are meant for. I will also use music which young people listen to, which may be heard in a club or listened to often, I will achieve this by finding common tracks people of my age listen to. In addition to this I will make the models seem as if they have attitude which implies that the clothes they wear give them confidence, this then appealing to teenage girls.

MY ADVERT

I am going to create a promotional advert as the advert I intend to make will promote clothes of a strictly web based outlet. I have been influenced by stores such as boohoo, missguided etc.

I will also create two auxiliary tasks alongside my advert which will be a web pop up and sponsorship sequence which will be suitable to follow before and after television programs and the breaks which are included in them.

COMMON THINGS I HAVE NOTICED BETWEEN ADVERTS

• Female models are mainly used

• The prices of clothes are sometime shown

• A music track plays in the background

• There is usually a promotional code which displays possible discounts e.g. 20% off for students

• The music played is usually up beat and relates to the advert and describes the clothes and the style it is

PRODUCTION COMPANY

As a production company I think I would use E! Entertainment Productions due to the television shows they produce which are in relation to the topic of fashion, for example:

• Fashion Police

• How do I look? From retro to modern flair

• Glamour’s 50th biggest do’s and don’t’s

However the issue with this company is that it is not UK based and therefore creates a financial issue, however the advert could be aired on the E! channel which would be very beneficial because the target audience of the E! channel is the same as the target audience of my advert. It is very important to have my advert following programs that were made for the same age range as my advert, as then this will

I will use clothes appropriate to the narrative which will be clothes suitable for nightlife and appropriate to the time of year for day time clothing, however it will still be clothes that are currently in trend

I will use upbeat music as it reflects the idea of having attitude when wearing the clothes, it will also interest the target audience I want as the majority will recognize the track
