Using the GeoMedia INI Wizard for ArcView Shapefiles By CAST The best way to ensure that your ArcView files are read properly is to use GeoMedia's INI Wizard. 1. Make sure that the ArcView shapefiles that are in the same folder are in the same coordinate system. 2. Navigate and look for the file called GeoINIwz.exe. If this file is not on the desktop, make a shortcut and place it on the desktop. You'll probably find the file at C:\Program Files\GeoMedia Professional\Program. 3. Doubleclick the icon to begin the wizard. 4. Check New INI file. Click next. 5. Choose ArcView for your data server. Click next. 6. Browse to find the folder holding your ArcView Shapefiles. 7. Click on Create/Modify Coordinate system file. 8. Select the correct coordinate system and parameters and save the coordinate system file in the same folder as your ArcView Shapefiles. 9. Click next. The next screen will show the keywords as being Coordinate System. Click next again. 10. Click Finish. You should now be able to open your shapefiles without coordinate system problems.
