School & Staff
Achievement Day 23 June 2018 was a day of celebration of achievements and recognition of the efforts by the
students of Holy Family as the school commemorated the day of its Achievement. It was
organized by class XII and began with a prayer followed by lightning the lamp. The shining stars
of class XII board exam students of Holy Family who secured 90% and above were honored
followed by the subject toppers. Students of class X were also rewarded for their great
achievement in the board exam 2018-19.

FOUNDATION & FOUNDRESS DAY CELEBRATION
The Foundation & Foundress
Day at Holy Family Convent Senior
Secondary School was celebrated
with great vigor and enthusiasm on
2nd July 2018. The programme was
organized by the students of Class
IX B with an intense and passionate
feeling remembering the life and
work of Foundress Blessed Mariam
Thresia.
INVESTITURE CEREMONY
The Investiture Ceremony held on 07 July 2018 was organised by X C under the leadership of
Mrs.Omana Pillai. The participation of whole class and their sincere effort to make this
programme a successful one and truly remarkable
were appreciable. Investiture ceremony witnessed
the installation of the school cabinet donning the
mantle of accountability and taking a pledge to
emancipate their duties to the best of their abilities. It
signified the reliance that the school consigned in the
newly invested office bearers.
World Nature Conservation Day
On 28 July 2018 Saturday IX D had their class
talent show on the theme ‘World Nature
Conservation Day.’ The theme of the day was
based the topics such as save paper, save tree.
It was presented through a skit, group dance
and group song. Prajakta Mam, Joshwa Sir and
Bhawana Mam helped the students to make the
program a memorable one.
Independence
Independence’- the word itself is so evocative that by hearing itself we feel the spirit of freedom.
To feel this freedom, this year as usual the students of class IX ‘A’ with the cooperation, help &
support of teachers contributed in making this day a memorable and redolent one. First and
foremost national flag was hoisted by the Manager Rev. Sr.Ancy Maria along with Principal
Rev. Sr. Catherine and Administrator Rev. Sr. Mercy. The programme started with a prayer
dance and further it continued with dances, patriotic song and dance/drama depicted on the
struggles of
soldier’s life.
Many cultural
events took
place especially
N.S.S. skit
which added
glory to the
program. These
cultural events
helped us to
feel the spirit of true independence from the core of our heart and dramas reminded us our duty
towards the nation.
Eid Celebration
Students of Class IX C showed their talent through their programme on the theme Eid.
Celebration was started by serving a sweet ‘sewaiyan’ to our chief guest Rev.Sr. Principal. All
the students participated enthusiastically. A speech on the importance of Eid was delivered. The
programme started with a sufi song (aaya tere dar par). After the song, a skit was presented to
depict the significance of the festival, by
narrating a scene of Sudan’s condition.
Group dances by boys and girls were also
performed. Words were beautifully arranged
in the form of rhymes (poem).The
programme concluded with the vote of
thanks. At last Sr. Principal addressed the
students and gave them greetings of the
festival. Everybody appreciated the programme.
Teachers’ Day Celebration
On behalf of all the classes of Holy Family Convent Sr. Sec.
School, Teachers’ Day of the Session 2018-19 was organized
by the students of class – X A with full zeal and Enthusiasm
under the Leadership of Miss Reena Parwani – the class
teacher of X A.
The entire
Program was based on the story of a boy (name
Chintu ), who was not ready to go to School as he
did not know the importance of teachers in one’s
life. The program began with the Dance Drama
depicting different creations of God, There were
many entertaining programs like Punjabi Dance, Semi classical Dance, Skit etc.
Diwali and Dussehra
The much awaited and loved festivals of light and victory, Diwali and Dussehra, were celebrated
with traditional fervour at Holy Family Convent Sr. Sec. School on 3rd November, 2018.Students
of class VII B presented their talent show on this occasion. The program started with the prayer
song which connected the audience to their creator. They performed two skits on the theme to
‘celebrate eco friendly Diwali’ and to take steps to save our country from different types of
pollution. They also highlighted the significance of this important day and took chance to speak
about this day through speech. There were two beautiful dances performed by girls on theme of
Dussehra and by another group on Diwali by which they cheered the audience.
Guru Nanak Jayanti celebration Guru Nanak Jayanti celebration was
organized by students of Class VII C on 22
November 2018. Guru Nanak Jayanti is
celebrated on the occasion of the birth
anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji. It is also
known as Gurupurab. This festival is
celebrated by the Sikh community all over
the world with much devotion and happiness.
The same spirit was exhibited by the students of class VII C through various vibrant and colorful
performances. The programme started with a soulful prayer song seeking God’s divine presence
throughout the programme. Zahabiya Hussain through her short speech illustrated the life and
preaching of Guru Nanak.
Farewell
Farewell is not the end of life. But it is an occasion to stage on the bond of relationship and
connectedness to one another. Holy Family Convent Sr. Sec. School echoed with the blessings
on the morning of 22-12-18 when the entire family came together to bid adieu to the outgoing
2019 batch of class XII. Students of class 11th organized farewell programme with great
enthusiasm and of course endeavored to leave a trial of reminiscence behind for the twelfthies.
There was a spate of dance, laughter and music as the hosts impressed the audience by
showcasing their vast repository of skills. The farewell party was celebrated fervor at school
campus. The Principal Rev. Sr. Catherine addressed the outgoing students as the heart and soul
of Holy Family Convent Sr. Sec. School. She asked the students to trust God and channelize
their ability towards the right path. She blessed and wished them success in the future endeavors.
Grandparents’ Day Grandparents are like shady trees that have an ever welcoming attitude towards life. They are
always there to offer their cool shade to the next generation.
The first Grandparents day was organized with the objective of inculcating love and respect for
the elderly on 20 December 2018. The Grandparents of the students of Class V were honoured
with a colourful and unique presentations put up by the enthusiastic students of the Primary
section. The appealing part
of the programme was a

negligence and loneliness of
the grandparents in the
families. This skit along
with other programme
stirred the hearts of
Grandparents and brought
tears in their eyes.
Mementoes were honoured
to the Grandparents as a mark of reverence.
VARIOUS CLUBS
NSS Plantation Day
“He that plants trees love others besides himself”
Plantation day was celebrated by NSS student on 3rd July 2018.
Trees were planeted under the leadership of NSS in charge
Mrs.Sarita Asnani.
Tree like Coconut, Lemon, Mango were planted at the grounds
of the Noviciate House of Holy Family. Students were made
aware about the importance of tree in human life and their ecological and environmental values
Visit to Karuna Sadan
To develop and break the shell of selfishness and then to get in touch with the realities of the life,
on 3rd August 2018, students of class X of Holy Family Senior Sec. School visited “KARUNA
SADAN” a Hospice for men, who have been abandoned by their families or relatives. The
charitable institution was established by Bhopal Arch Diocese. Brother SAHAYA SABIN is
presently in charge of the inmates.Students’ contribution for them was in form of sanitary items
like bath soap, toothpaste, brushes etc. They also distributed ladoos and enjoyed with them. Our
Sr. Principal Sr. Catherine contributed rice and cooking oil for them.
PRAKRITI MAHOTSAV
Prakriti Mahotsav was celebrated in Holy Family Convent School Bhopal with great vigour and
enthusiasm on 16th August’18, as per the guidelines of board to protect our environment for us
and for our future generations. co-club students took active part in plantation drive and enjoyed
the success of ‘Mission green campaign.’
REGIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE
Students from class 8th and 9th were taken
to Regional Science Centre on 20.11.18 for
science Fiesta. There, they were shown
various models like anemometer,
seismograph etc. Nukkad Nataks were
presented to highlight the various issues
taking place. They also went through
various objects there. The Fiesta was
organised to motivate students for learning
science with fun. It boosted up the minds of the students with a quality based education of
science. Azmia ma’am accompanied the students to the science centre. It was a great learning
experience
TALENT SHOW
Cultural Heritage of Madhya Pradesh
The programme began with an introduction of the a quote to start with on Heritage theme
followed by a prayer song. It was a soulful
performance by the students. Plants were
presented to the Principal, Administrator and
Vice Principal as a token of love. A “Talk
Show” was conducted about the ancient history
of Madhya Pradesh. Girls sang a melodious song
“Madhya Pradesh Gaan” followed by the “Baate
Yaaden Madhya Pradesh Ki” based on the
history of Bhopal. A beautiful dance drama
based on the song “Yeh Hamara
Cultural Heritage of Manipur and Nagaland
“Manipuries take the pride of a rich cultural heritage.” A colorful programme of “Cultural Heritage Of Manipur And Nagaland” was held on 26th
October 2018 at Holy Family Convent Sr. Sec.
School by the students of class VI C. The day
started by welcoming Sister Principal with
bouquet of flowers. The students gave a rocking
dance performance and Flock dance of Nagaland
which won everyone’s heart.
LOVE FOR LANGUAGES
“GREAT ABILITY DEVELOPS AND REVEALS ITSELF INCREASINGLY WITH EVERY NEW ASSIGNMENT”.
A talent show is an event in which participants perform the arts of singing, dancing, lip-
syncing, acting or other activities to showcase skills.
Young children have an ocean of
hidden talents amongst them and it was
displayed at Holy Family Sr. Sec. School
on 11/1/19 on the topic of Love for
Languages by the students of class VI B.
The program was started with welcome
speech. The students sang song and
enthralled the audience with their
scintillating performances. Many students of class VI B displayed their talents by dancing on
entertaining music and left the audience spellbound. The students, dressed in colourful dresses,
were full of confidence and enthusiasm prior to their performance. The class representative had
given the speech on importance of English in today’s world.
SEMINARS
TEACHERS’ WORKSHOP: EXTRAMARKS
It becomes the responsibility of the teacher
to ensure that the teaching learning process
does not exhaust the minds, but enlightens
the participants. The understanding of
education has transformed completely in the
age of technology .It is no longer a
unilateral dealing with the textbook
accompanied by chalk and duster teaching.
Information is widely available, one only
needs to channelize it and mould it to
students’ needs. Teachers have become facilitators.
In keeping with the same, school management organized a workshop with Extramarks . The
workshop was held on Tuesday, 12th June, 2018 for all the three wings teachers in the Library. It
was a revision class for the old teachers and an introductory class for all the new members of the
family.
Multiple Intelligences
A was commenced on the topic Multiple
Intelligence on 13th June 2018 under the
headship of Rev. Fr.Sunny Jacob. The
Seminar stared with a soulful prayer song
sung by Mr. Harsh Sharma our Music
teacher. As per the tradition lighting of lamp
by the guest was done. Our NEW Principal
welcomed the guests and all the members of
three schools gathered for the seminar-St
Alphonsa, Fr. Agnel and Holy Family
Convent Sr Sec School. Rev Fr. Sunny Jacob
started the session introducing him. He emphasized that quality of students depends on the
quality of the teachers. Father said education should be foundation of the society. He
highlightedthat a good teacher must have following abilities- 1.musical-rhythmic 2.visual-
spatial 3.verbal- linguistic 4. Logical –mathematical 5. Bodily-kinesthetic 6. Interpersonal 7.
Intrapersonal 8.naturalistic. Based on this they should teach in the class.
He also explained the concept of IQ and said that according to Howard Gardner it is proved that
IQ is not at all right parameter to measure the intelligence of a person .Each and every student is
special success don’t matters only with marks .It is only that “NOBODY IS USELESS
,PERHAPS USED LESS”.Father also explained various theories-Appreciative enquiry theory
and 4E’s under it 1.Equity 2.Employability 3.Excellence 4.Expansionand also explained
Erikson’s eight psychosocial stages which decides the
behavior and personality of the person
CORPORATE SAVING PACKAGE SBI
A seminar was conducted for teachers on corporative saving
package.
Our Dear Sr. principal extended a warm welcome to SBI
officers. The nature of the package was explained to the
teachers. They said the package can be customized depending upon the business relationship
between the institution and bank. It was also explained that package variants eligibility was as
per gross monthly income of the employee.
Workshop for Science Teachers
The training-workshop took place on 22nd and 23rd on June 2018 at FR. Agnel Senior Secondary
School. Bhopal MP.The training team arrived at the venue one day before, on 21st June 2019, in
order to meet for fine-tuning of the agenda and coordination of facilitation. Almost all CBSE
schools from Bhopal and the adjoining areas participated in this Chemistry program. Trainers
and participants had a chance to present the outcomes and recommendations from the training
workshop and the heads of agencies had a chance to comment on and fine tune the
recommendations
Workshop on Capacity Building for Teachers of Class X Mathematics
A capacity building program on Mathematics for teachers of Class X was conducted by CBSE
on 21 & 22 July 2018 at MPS International School, Jaipur. The goal of this programme was to
bring the Mathematics educators together from various parts of Rajasthan and other states. This
programme provided a common platform to the Mathematics educators to exchange their ideas
and teaching strategies.
The following were the main points discussed
during the two days programme:
1. Theory of Multiple Intelligence
2. Constructivism
3. Bloom's Taxonomy
4. Question Paper Design
5. Spatial Thinking
6. Gender sensitization
7. Some common errors done by students in Mathematics
Stress Relief Seminar
A seminar was conducted on 6th October 2018 by
Rev.Sr Asha, a councilor and kind hearted person,
for the welfare of the student of class IXth and Xth.
She enriched everyone about the things they should
and shouldn’t do in their lives while they are going
through the learning process. It was very much
motivational and inspiring.
Exposure Programme
Udaygiri Caves
On 12th November a group of 8 students of class XII from humanities stream went on educational
trip to Udaygiri caves as a part of their curriculum to gain knowledge about the 5nd century caves of
ancient India . The journey started with a prayer
and message by the Principal Rev Sr.Catherine.
Students were accompanied by their subject
teacher Mr. Ashish along with Azima Mam.
Udaygiri caves contain iconography of
Vaishnavism, Shaktism and Shaivism. The site has
important inscriptions of Gupta Dynasty
belonging to the reigns of Chandragupta II
Kumargupta.In addition Udaygiri has a series of rock shelter, ruinedbuildings,I nscriptions, water
system etc. There were twenty caves in total. This trip helped the students to learn more about the
past and they gained a lot of knowledge and understanding towards their subject with lots of
enjoyment.
State Museum
On 31st Oct. 2018 H.F.C.S.S organized one day excursion to study outside the classroom for the
students of XI class (Humanities Stream) with their mentor Mr. Ashish and Sr. Anupa. Journey
started by a motivational message and prayer by our principal Rev Sr.Catherine.
The students were excited to learn more about the glory of the past of the Indian
civilization.Students observed many sculptures which were well organized and displayed with a
short description in both English and Hindi. For coins, textiles, sculptures etc. This museum has
a section for each. They also observed several wonderful spectacles and artefacts. It was an
informative visit to fascinate the students by showing the progress of material through the ages.
All the students were very happy, joyful and grateful to the school to send them to learn in this
way. The trip ended by 4.00 P.M
Tribal Museum
On 1st Nov a group of 14 students of humanities stream of class 11th went for an educational trip
to tribal museum as a part of our history curriculum. This trip to museum proved to be very
useful. The tribal museum is a
complete place to look for the culture
and traditions of the various tribes
that lived and still living in the
regions of M.P and others States. It is
beautifully constructed museum with
the great architecture and there were
many houses made of woods, along
with many tools, worship places,
,goddess and there different practices. The students enjoyed learning about the tribes, their
customs and traditions of various tribes of M.P and other states. All the students were very
thankful to the HFCS to give them opportunity to learn outside the classroom .All captured many
moments in camera. After spending time there, at 3:00 pm we reached back to school with lot of
knowledge and sweet memories. We are very thankful to our principal Rev Sr. Catherine for
giving this opportunity.
Nidaan
Nidaan Institute of Rehabilitation organised an event on project presentation on 10th October
2018 to celebrate mental health day. The
theme of the competition was 'social
cognition’, social cognition refers to how
people perceive, interpret and reason
opinion about themselves and other beings.
Five students from the humanities
department participated and enacted the
topic along with posters showing mental
health and cognition and PowerPoint
presentations defining the enactment
theoretically. They presented a skit on the
topic social cognition, basically targeting attitude, impression formation and attribution. The
theories of social cognition were presented with color themes which represented 4 types in social
cognition. The theme of the play was ‘colors ’. The Holyfites secured the first prize .
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE It was a matter of delight that our Principal Rev.Sr.Catherine attended the international
conference “HARMONY- 2019 Interface of Cosmic, Ethical and Religious Orders” at Christ
University Bangalore.
Our Achievements
Report On Math Relay
On 17th Nov. 2018, Eastern Public School celebrated their signature event that is
‘Math Relay’. The event was organized in four stages and two categories.
This event was quite similar to the event 4*100 relay. At each stage students had to solve
a new set of math calculation. All questions were based on general logic and
reasoning. No calculators were allowed during the event. Each participant was supposed
to do the calculation in the sheet and final correct answer should be written in the
space provided. The process for both categories was same. Holyfites bagged the First Prize
in both the categories.
KG INTER
SCHOOL
DANCE COMPETITION
Inter School competition for KG students were organized by St. Joseph Co-Ed School in their
school’s premises. Altogether 10 schools participated in the grand event exhibiting colourful
performances as the theme was “Festivals of India”. Our KG students gave an extremely
captivating show which conquered everyone’s heart and bagged the First Prize for the school. It
was a proud moment for the entire school fraternity, especially for the two teachers who worked
hard to teach the little ones.
