You have chosen a ŠKODA vehicle, which is fitted with an Infotainment Radio Blues (hereaftercalled the unit) – we thank you for your confidence in us.

Please read this Owner's Manual carefully, because the operation in accordance with these instruc-tions is a prerequisite for proper use of the unit.

For a detailed description of some functions listed in these instructions, see the Owner's Manual foryour vehicle.

Switching the unit on/off

Switching the unit on and off manually› Press to switch the device on or off.

Turn on device automaticallyIf the device was not turned switched off using the button before the igni-tion was turned off, this will automatically switch on after the ignition hasbeen switched on.

Switching off the unit automaticallyIf the vehicle key is pulled out of the ignition lock while the unit is switched on,the unit will switch off automatically.

If the vehicle is fitted with the starter button, the device will switch off auto-matically after the engine is switched off and the door is opened.

When the ignition is switched off, the unit switches itself off automatically af-ter approximately half an hour (prevents the vehicle battery being drained).

The device can be turned off automatically under certain circumstances due tothe protection against the vehicle battery discharged or the device protection.

The device informs you of this via a text message on the device display.

NoteWhen the device is switched on, the audio source and operating mode thatwere active before switching off will be restored.

Setting volume

The clock is set using rotable adjuster 2 » Fig. 1 on page 4.

The change in volume is displayed on the screen of the unit.

Increase the volume› Turn rotable adjuster 2 to the right.

Reduce the volume› Turn rotable adjuster 2 to the left.

Muting› Adjust the volume using rotable adjuster 2 to the left to 0.

The symbol appears in the display when the sound is muted. .

Playback interruption occurs (pause) if media were being played at the timethe volume was reduced.

CAUTION■ High volumes can cause sound resonance in the vehicle.■ The car speakers may be damaged if the volume is set too loud.

NoteThe device supports the volume setting of the currently received TP-traffic an-nouncements.

Operation using the buttons/dial on the multifunction steeringwheel

Set valueThe desired value of the selected item will be set to one of the following ways.

If the device is not being operated, the display switches off after a few sec-onds in the last selected mode of Radio or Media.

Sound settings

The unit allows analogue radio reception of FM and AM frequencies.

CAUTION■ Car parks, tunnels, tall buildings or mountains can disrupt the radio signaleven causing it to fail completely.■ For vehicles with window antennas do not stick foil or metal coated stickersto the window as this can lead to interference.

Each frequency range has two storage groups each FM1 and FM2 or AM1 andAM2.

NoteIf a radio station should broadcast RDS data information in the FM frequencyrange, then the name will be shown in the device display instead of the fre-quency of the broadcasting station.

Save radio stations

Read and observe on page 8 first.

Storing manually› Hold one of the preset buttons - .

The station is stored in the selected position.

The storage is confirmed by an acoustic signal as well as the display of thestored position selected.

Automatic storage› Press the button.

In the device display the following text appears AutoStore ... and in the currentstorage group (e.g. FM1), six radio stations are stored with the strongest signal.

Select radio stations and search

Read and observe on page 8 first.

Select radio stations from the list of available stationsThe device will automatically search for available radio stations in the back-ground, which can be selected immediately after turning on the power.

› Press the or button.

There will be a change to the previous or next channel.

Select radio stations from station buttonsBy pressing the respective button - , the device changes to the stationsaved under the given position.

Manually selecting a radio station› Press the Manual button.› Press the or button repeatedly and set the desired value of the fre-

quency range.

Station scan› Press the or button.

A search commences in the selected direction and stops at the next stationwith sufficient signal strength.

Search available stations (Scan)› Press the Scan button.

The search is started.

This function plays all the available stations in succession for a few secondseach.

Pressing the button again ends the search and the current station will beplayed.

This chapter describes the settings of the Radio mode and contains informa-tion about the function of the traffic program (TP).

Settings

› Press the button repeatedly.

The following menu items are displayed in sequence.■ TP - Sets the Traffic■ Yes - Traffic news is being received■ No - Traffic news is not being received

■ Scan - Browse available radio stations■ Press - Start the scan

■ Manual - Manual selection of a radio station■ Press - Start the manual selection

■ Search - Sets station selection (operation of or button)■ Stations - Select from the list of available stations■ Pre-sets - Choice from the station buttons

TP traffic

The function allows the reception of traffic information.

Turn Traffic Information mode on› Press the TP Yes button.

Traffic info reception off› Press the TP No button.

FM frequency rangeIf the radio station currently selected broadcasts traffic reports, then this willbe shown in the device display.

If the radio station currently selected does not broadcast traffic reports, thenthis will be shown in the device display.

AM frequency rangeNo traffic reports are broadcast in the AM frequency.

If the FM Frequency range traffic information station is available, then this isshown in the device display.

If the FM frequency range does not show any traffic information station as be-ing available, then the device display will show this.

Note■ If traffic information is just being broadcast, then TRAFFIC is shown in thedevice display.■ Should this radio station not transmit traffic reports or the signal is not avail-able, then the device automatically searches in the background for another TPstation.■ During playback in Media mode or a radio station in the AM range, trafficnews is received from the previously selected FM radio station.

The device allows you to play audio files in various formats and to connect dif-ferent source types » page 13.

For an audio source with a split into several areas memory, only the contentsof the first manufactured range is read.

WARNING■ Never place external audio sources on the dash panel. They could bethrown into the passenger compartment during sudden driving manoeu-vres, thereby injuring the occupants.■ Never place external audio sources close to the airbags. They could bethrown into the passenger compartment when the airbags are deployed,injuring the occupants.■ Never hold external audio sources in your hand or on your knees whiledriving. They could be thrown into the passenger compartment during sud-den driving manoeuvres, thereby injuring the occupants.■ Always route the connection cable of the external audio source such thatis does not restrict you when driving.

CAUTIONDo not store any important data on the connected external sources. ŠKODAassumes no responsibility for lost or damaged files or connected audio sour-ces.

NoteSee the owner's manual of the specific manufacturer for operating the exter-nal audio source.

The unit only switches between connected audio sources with playable con-tent.

The device can be connected to the audio sources connected to recognisemax. 1024 directories and play max. 6500 files. The device can play a max 1024files from a directory.

The unit will play the contents of the connected audio source by alphabeticallysequenced directory and file name.

SD memory card

Read and observe and on page 11 first.

The SD memory card slot 11 is located on the front of the device » Fig. 1 onpage 4.

Inserting an SD memory card› Push the SD memory card into the available slot with the cut edge to the

front right until it “locks into place”.

Playback starts automatically.

Removing an SD memory card› Press the inserted SD memory card.

The SD memory card “jumps” into the eject position.

CAUTION■ Use only SD memory cards with a standard size. When using smaller SD cardswith the adapter the SD memory card can fall out of the adapter while drivingdue to vehicle vibrations.■ Due to differing quality requirements of different card manufacturers, it isnot always possible to guarantee playback from SD memory cards.■ It may not be possible to play some or all files on the SD memory card, ortheir playback may be limited.

USB input

The MDI input is above the storage compartment in the front center consoleand is identified by the symbol » Fig. 6 .

The USB input audio source can be connected directly or via a connecting ca-ble.

Connect the USB audio source› Plug the USB audio source into the corresponding well.

Playback starts automatically.

Separate USB audio source› Disconnect the USB audio source.

Charge USB audio sourceWith the ignition on after connecting the USB audio source, the charging proc-ess is automatically started (applies for audio sources where charging via theUSB connector is possible).

The charging efficiency can be different compared to the charging from theusual mains power supply. Connected audio sources can be supplied / loadedwith a current of max. 1.0 A.

Some connected audio sources may not be recognised and cannot be charged.

The charging of the connected audio source is automatically stopped afterswitching off the ignition.

CAUTION■ Extension cords, or reducers can impair the function of the connected audiosource.■ A video playback is not supported.

Note■ When operating together with the connection of the audio source, the re-spective operating instructions are observed.■ We recommend that you use extension cords from ŠKODA Original Accesso-ries.

AUX input

Read and observe and on page 11 first.

The MDI input is above the storage compartment in the front center consoleand is identified with the lettering » Fig. 6 on page 12.

Connecting AUX audio sources› Insert the plug of the audio source in the corresponding well.› Select the menu item using the button AUX.› Start playback on the connected audio source.

Disconnect AUX audio source› Disconnect the connector of the audio source.

CAUTION■ The AUX input must only be used for audio devices.■ If an external audio source is connected to the AUX input, which is equippedwith an adapter for external power supply, the sound will be impaired. This de-pends on the quality of the adapter which is used.

Note■ The standard 3.5 mm stereo jack plug is used for the AUX input. If the exter-nal devices do not have this jack plug, you must use an adapter.■ The AUX input can be activated / deactivated » page 13, Settings.■ We recommend that you use extension cords from ŠKODA Original Accesso-ries.

CAUTION■ At the time of publication, the device has been tested with most audio sour-ces available in the various markets. However, it is possible that some audiosources or files will be unreadable or unplayable.■ The GPT Standards (GUID Partition Table) method structured signal sourcesare not supported by the device.■ Files that are protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologycannot be played back by the device.

Note■ We recommend that you use class 4 SD memory cards and higher. This guar-antees the fastest possible access to the audio files.■ For a good playback, we recommend using files with a smaller degree ofcompression (for example, a bit rate of at least 160 kb / s or higher compressedMP3 files).
