WELCOMEDear Community,

Previously, going “global” caused headaches in the boards as it was considered to be linked to investments and risks. Not being global in our times is not an option; as mobility, it is a prerequisite in a “real time” world. In contrast to economic cycles, technology cycles are more short-lived. Therefore new ways of process and system deployment and consequent sustain models need to be developed to keep up the speed and keep production in synchronization with the consumers` demands. Otto Schell, DSAG Board Industry Solutions and Business Processes and Head of Globalization Workgroup

Internet of Things, Industry 4.0 or mobile solutions - with their possibilities to optimize current business or to head for new markets and new customers, enlarge and enrich our global SAP Landscapes and Enterprise Architecture. On one side, we still struggle to find the best fitting ERP architecture, on the other side new challenges force us to think in other directions. We are looking forward to discuss with you and to exchange experiences of global Enterprise Architecture.

Frank Schellenberger, DSAG Speaker Workgroup Global Application Architecture

Operating and supporting a global SAP landscape is on the agenda of more and more companies. With our Globalization Symposium we offer you information and a platform for exchanging experiences on all levels of support. Starting from basic questions such as handling country versions in order to deal with challenges of governance frameworks for global template implementation. I would like to invite you to meet other companies to share best practices for managing global SAP landscape.

Jan Schuback, DSAG Speaker Workgroup Support of existing Global Landscapes

While some companies still face the challenge of global roll-outs, many others are constantly extending their footprint with new countries and new functionalities – thus fulfilling globalization is a prerequisite. Some countries are more challenging than others and we have gathered quite a representative sample of these in track 1. However, new trends in technology and functional requirements need to be incorporated as well; consequently, there is cause for thought on problem analysis, agile methods and non-core functionality roll-outs added.

Dr. Gunter E. Seidel, DSAG Speaker Workgroup Global Rollout & Project Management

What is new @ SAP Globalization Services? Learn about tools and support for your global implementations. As SAP Counterpart from SAP Globalization Services for the DSAG Globalization Workgroup, I would like to welcome you to our conference. In the last years, we have continuously intensified our cooperation in order to provide the best joint information rollout for all customers organized in the DSAG. I am looking forward to talking to you personally during this event and continuing the discussion about interesting globalization topics.

Dr. Detlef Werner, Director – SAP Globalization Services

Getting from awareness to action will be addressed through the 7th DSAG-Globalization-Symposium. Years of experience in the Internet of Things or Industry 4.0 world together with diverge aspects will open minds to move forward and will trigger new collaboration models.

We look forward to welcoming you in Berlin!

Otto Schell

While some companies still face the challenge of global rollouts, many others are constantly extending their footprint with new countries and new functionalities. Some countries are more challenging than others and new trends in technology and functional requirements must be incorporated. This track will allow newcomers to gain an overview of how to monitor best practices and give global program managers the opportunity to exchange ideas about the ongoing challenges facing their programs.

No Industry and no Line of Business stay where they are. Enabled by technology, global markets are disrupted and business models invented. The DSAG-Keynote will reference key observations and encountered challenges of globalization with SAP.

Industry 4.0 opens up new perspectives for Germany’s industry, both as lead market and as lead supplier of Industry 4.0 solutions. In this context, some urgent questions need to be answered: What business environment has to be established to develop a lead market for Industry 4.0 in Germany? Which markets are most interesting for lead suppliers and who are competitors? This keynote will provide answers based on two analyses: An international assessment of current approaches, drivers and challenges, and a forward thinking scenario analysis of developments in the environment of Industry 4.0.

New technologies and initiatives such as Industry 4.0, Internet of Things or SAP HANA as well as related changes of business models are starting to show more and more effects on our global application landscapes and architecture. Sometimes initiatives are acting globally, sometimes they are isolated locally. A global Enterprise Architecture Management supported by methodologies, transparency and tools covering Business-, Data-, Application- and Technology-Architecture is one important prerequisite. This track will show you approaches to handle the complexity and discuss how global architecture evolves in your companies in the future.

Operating and supporting a global SAP landscape is an item on more and more companies’ agenda. Complexity has been rising over the last years and is challenging the support organization. Managing legal changes comes more into focus. Delivery of projects in conjunction with stable environments is prerequisite in a real time production world.Within this track, we offer you relevant information and a platform for exchanging experiences on all levels of support. Be invited to meet other companies to share best practices for managing global SAP landscapes.

Globalization must be taken into account even for the first new country in your ERP systems. With SAP Globalization Services, customers can easily prepare for global software rollouts and maintenance of any size. The diverse services, tools or information sources assist in the construction and adaptation of an appropriate international IT topology as well as configuration of SAP solutions for country-specific characteristics. Rollouts can thus be carried out in less time and with correspondingly lower costs. This track shows the tools and services of global SAP systems and how they can be maintained effectively.

Welcome and Introduction
