Our readers liked all the segments, specially interview with Madam Tanveer Jahan Khan received an overwhelming re- sponse. We got many messages/emails elaborating this appreciation. Editorial team is thankful to all those, who re- sponded through their apprecaition, suggestions, criticims, opinions and sincere evaluations. Feedback from readers either positive or negative is the soul of our work and it always encourages us to meet the expectations of our valuable readers. On the eve of November 09, 2012, a mega event of P ULISAA was held in the beautiful lawns of University of the Punjab, Lahore. It was named as “An Evening with Amjad Islam Amjad”. The purpose was to provide professionals an opportunity to sit together, to cherish the occasion and enjoy the party. Although a large number of professionals attended the event, yet there is a lot to do to attract LIS colleagues for such memorable gatherings. . Here we would like to draw our readers’ attention towards an important thing. Most of us raise question what professional associa- tions are giving the profession? But we think more important thing is that how much sincere we are towards these associations. Unfortunately we give less and expect much. We forget that these associations are because of us, we are not because of them. If we don’t care of them they will become useless and be perished due to our negligence and negative approach. A report is also included on National Conference by PLA Federal Branch held at Islamabad. Many of the PLISAA members participated in that conference and presented their resear ch papers and showed best capabilities as a researchers. Department of Library & Information Science, P unjab University conducted a workshop. A report about that workshop is also part of t hese pages. Besides this, we took a special interview of Malik Muhammad Sid- dique, a senior alumnus. He rendered his service s for the profession on different levels. My Dear PULISAA Family Members

I feel pleasure while communicating with youthrough this Newsletter and sharing my viewsand thoughts at the end of year 2012 You mighthave entered in 2013 when you receive thisnewsletter I would like to congratulate wholeeditorial team of newsletter and the alumni whocontributed in any way They also deserve appre-ciation because the newsletter is improving asthey are gaining experience and taking criticismpositively The most important thing is the conti-nuity which has increased its acceptability andalumni has started waiting next issue after everyissue I am really happy that Ashraf Shakoori hasproved himself a good team leader and took thewhole team with him Itrsquos not one man show butits team work which is more encouraging andmatter of satisfaction for me as PULISAA familyhead I suggest team to print hard copy of issuesof year 2012 of PULISAA Newsletter and circu-late among members

In eight months we have started our work andcontinuing educa-tion has beenfocused The committee has arranged workshops on different areas withthe help of department We have also constituted another committee tofind out the avenues to organize programmes with collaboration with otherprofessional organizations I am sure they would be able to organizesome massive programmes during the year 2013 PULISAA also orga-nized dinner and alumni spent a beautiful evening with Amjad Islam Am- jad in the lawn of Punjab University Library

I do believe there is always room for improvement so I admit that we

could do much more in 2012 and I also understand that PULISAA execu-tive members worked with full devotion and commitment But we must dobetter and do something extraordinary so shall try for this in the year2013

My dear colleague memberships are always source of strength for everyorganization All regular memberships have been expired after 31st De-cember 2012 So everybody have to renew their membership PULISAATreasurer soon will announce the coordinators to collect fee and renewalof membership All alumni are requested to get membership and be part

The Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS) University of the Punjab Lahore

recently organized two consecutive workshops on Research Ethics EndNote and Turnitin These

workshops were designed specifically for the PU faculty members to facilitate them in conducting re-

need of learning research ethics and the use of

Turnitin software for plagiarism checking value of

proper citing in research and using EndNote soft-

ware for managing References Dr Shafiq Ur

Rehman coordinator of the workshop welcomed

the participants and introduced them with work-

shopThe workshop consisted of four sessions

In the first session Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen pre-

sented an overview of the research ethics to be

followed in research writings from the research

design to the reporting stage The second session

was hands on practice conducted by Dr Nosheen

Fatima in computer laboratory of the department for

Turnitin

Next day in the third session Dr Khalid

Mahmood highlighted how to identify and format

citing elements in the text and in reference list

bibliography

In the last session Dr Shafiq Ur Rehman explored

various features of EndNote software through

hands-on practice on searching sorting importing

and organizing references electronically with Mi-

crosoft Word option Cite While You Write

(CWYW) In the concluding session Dr Kanwal

Ameen appreciated the participants for their deep

interest in the workshop The participants also

applauded the efforts of DLIS for organizing such

a useful and much needed workshop and sug-

gested more workshops for in-depth learning At

the end the chairperson distributed certificates to

the participants In total Forty six faculty members from 25 teaching departments attended the work-

shop

Alumni associations play a very important role in providing linkages between senior and junioralumnus and bridge a gap between them by providing opportunities for get together and share their mem-oirs and experiences It also makes a channel of conversation between them for a very successive careerbuilding career counseling to juniors and sharing of experiences

Punjab University Library and Information Science Association (PULISAA) is also providing suchopportunities for its alumni the library professionals faculty and the students In the second meeting of thePULISAA it was decided to celebrate annual dinner on November This time the event drew its scheduleafter Eid-ul-Azha and so Eid Milan programme was also amalgamated in this event of memorization andfurther more positive nod from the famous poet ldquoAmjad Islam Amjadrdquo this dinner became very significant for

the library professionals and it became a verybeautiful evening with Amjad Islam Amjad

The dinner was organized in the lawnsof Punjab University Main library and the chieflibrarian Ch Muhammad Hanif provided its organ-izational charges Mr Asif Bilal and his team triedput their maximum under the supervision of presi-

dent PULISAA Muhammad Shahid Soroya andpatron Dr Kanwal Amin for making this event asuccess to PULISAA A very large number ofalumni attended this event

Afghan Amjad Aslam Amjad were renownedguests of this event Old alumnus wanted to seeMadam Tanvir Jahan Khan among them and sheconfirmed her participation in this dinner but due toher illness she on the eleventh hour could not par-

ticipate however her message to alumnus wasdelivered by Muhammad Ashraf Shakoori VicePresident PULISAA

Dr Nosheen Fatima Warriach Secre-tary PULISAA conducted the stage and made thisevent very successful by her remarks MuhammadShahid Soroya in his presidential address appreci-ated the management team and coordinators fororganizing a wonderful evening He thanked ChHanif Dr Ramzan and Dr Khalid Mahmood fortheir continuous support He shared future pro-grammes with alumni and also thanked the alumni for coming from different cities of Pakistan Mr Soroyaexpressed his commitment to strengthen the activities of PULISAA and to organize more such type of gath-erings with the help of team members Dr Kanwal Amin shared her views and beautifully addressed to herteachers her colleagues and the entire community of students

Director General National Library of Pakistan specially came from Islamabad to participate in thisdinner and he was very happy to be among information professionals and told that it was a very happy gettogether He advised to carry on these activities

Amjad Islam Amjad made this event joyous with her poetry He recited number of his famous poems to theaudience on their demand in this evening with him on this annual dinner He remembered his days andlinkages with the professionals and expressed that librarians have provided him a very powerful literaryreviews to make him famous to this stage He remained busy in giving autographs to his fans and for photosessions

The dinner came to an end but enhanced the memoirs of the alumnus to keep their link with their

institution alive and to connect with their fellow professionals Days gone will never come but their memoirs

smooth the environment for the days to come

Malik Siddique First of all I would like to thank thePunjab University Library and Information ScienceAlumni Association (PULISAA) newsletter team forstarting series of interviews about the life stories ofpioneers of the PULISAA newsletter These inter-views being conducted by young professionals willthrough light on the life and efforts of their seniorprofessionals who had worked hard for the better-

Coming to your question I was born on 5 November 1943 in district Shiekupura where I completed my matriculation fromFarooqabad School After that I passed intermediate and graduation examinations from Govt College Shiekupura

InfoPULISAA Did you come to this field by choice or incident

Malik Siddique This was totally incidental because when I came to Lahore in 1967 after completion of my graduation I wanted tobecome lawyer and applied for LLB in Law College Later a friend who met on the way suggested me to apply for admission inlibrary science also

InfoPULISAA How and when did you join library science

Malik Siddique In 1968 I got admission in library science diploma course for one year I stood first in diploma examination andafter 20 days of my diploma result I got my first job I joined as Assistant Librarian (BPS-11) on 20 October 1969 in the PunjabUniversity Library

InfoPULISAA Would you brief on Governmentrsquos criterion of promotion for MLIS diploma holders

Malik Siddique The designation for the diploma holders in library science was assistant librarian but in Punjab Governmentthose who joined college or university got the designation of librarian In 1969 according to Punjab Governmentrsquos official notifica-tion the librarian was able to get BPS-17 while Assistant Librarian BPS-16

InfoPULISAA Have you worked for any organization

Malik Siddique From1969 to 1974 we worked hard for status and designation of librarian To achieve this purpose we estab-lished Punjab University Librarians Association (PULA) On the platform of PULA we demanded our rights MrMushtaq BasheerAli Malik who were our senior teachers also got promotions in grade 16 and 17 the same year

InfoPULISAA Did you go to Karachi University for MLS and if not what was the reason

Malik Siddique I wrote an application to my authorities for getting MLS admission in Karachi but they refused The authorityasked me to resign if I wanted to go to Karachi University for MLS At that time I couldnrsquot go to Karachi University for MLS due tofinancial constraints

InfoPULISAA When did you pass your MLS

Malik Siddique I passed MLS in 1976 from the University of Punjab with distinctive marks

InfoPULISAA Have you introduced any distinctive servicefacility for MLS professionals

Malik Siddique For MLS degree holders we introduced a new structure for the librarian in the Punjab University Library Thehierarchy of Chief Librarian Deputy Chief Librarian Senior Librarian and Assistant Librarian was established

InfoPULISAA When did you join Library Science Department of Punjab University

Malik Siddique I joined Punjab University Library Science Department as a part time faculty member in 1977 till1982 Then I joined this department as a lecturer in 1988 to1993 I served it for almost 10 years

InfoPULISAA Would you recall about other colleagues in the faculty

Malik Siddique When I joined Mushtaq Ahamed was head of the department Afzal Haq Qurshi and Madam Umera Shah were

Malik Siddique I taught many renowned students but I feel proud of Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood and Dr Rafique Awan who didtheir PhDs later It is interesting that I learnt computer from my student Prof Dr Khalid

InfoPULISAA Why could you not do M Phil or PhDMalik Siddique There was no M Phil or PhD facility for Library Science in the Punjab University at that time Only two degreeswere being offered by the department ndash diploma and MLS The Ph Ds from abroad did not prefer to serve here but went to KuwaitSaudi Arabia and Malaysia When Prof DrKhalid became head of the department heintroduced M Phil and Ph D degrees in2005

InfoPULISAA Why did you say goodbye to the department

Malik Siddique In 2003 I got retired fromthe University of Punjab after completing 60years of service

InfoPULISAA What about your contri-bution in PULSAA newsletter

Malik Siddique I contributed two articles inPULISAA newsletter on Inductive Methodsof Research and Library Science Literaturein Pakistan

InfoPULISAA What kind of role thedepartment can play in present marketsituation of LIS

Malik Siddique Todayrsquos library market of LIS has gone beyond the traditional LIS The responsibility of library schools has alsobeen increased in compiling curriculum and counseling of students I feel that students from library schools lack confidence whenthey come to the market which do not let them flourish They have to suffer in the field due to lack of communicative skills Thelibrary schools should play effective role to build confidence and communicative skills during the academic studies according to themarket requirements

InfoPULISAA How can the image of our profession can be improved

Malik Siddique Commitment and hard work are key to raise status of our professionals and profession

InfoPULISAA Any other memory of professional life

Malik Siddique Every moment of life is memorable because it becomes our past but the welcome and farewell functions andtours especially of Murree Narran Kagan are unforgettable

InfoPULISAA What about your family

Malik Siddique I have a happy family of a wife and four children including three sons and a daughter hold MSc degrees and en- joying family life

InfoPULISAA Life after retirement

Malik Siddique Life after retirement is Alhamdulillah going also good After retirement I joined ldquoShirkat Ghardquo and now I am work-ing as a researcher for Nazria Pakistan Foundation I wrote two other books with the collaboration of ldquoNazira Pakistan Foundationincluding ldquoContribution of Muslim Scientistrdquo and ldquoThe Creation of Real Estate in South Asiardquo

InfoPULISAA What difference do you feel between jobs in public and private sectors

Malik Siddique The difference between public and private sectors is point of encouragement The public sector usually does notencourage its staff while private sector encourages its employees and utilize their skills in a better wayI want to share the samecase happen to me when I was the student of MLIS I want to take thesis as a course that time Dr Mumtaz Ali Anwar was the headof the department he took my interview for the thesis permission the first question in the interview was ldquocan you do itrdquo that time Iseems like to be Pendu(villager Guy) maybe thatrsquos why he thought that how can he do it but I said ldquoYes sir I can do it rdquo And Iobtained 180 marks out of 200 in my thesis

InfoPULISAA Any advice or message for new professionals and PULISAA team

Malik Siddique My advice for the young professionals is that they should work hard and be confident to have the capacity to doeverything If they are committed they can chase every task For the students I want to suggest dear try to learn read or learnfrom the original text or produce them in your own writing not merely rely on others notes The PULISAA is doing good work MayAllah give success to all of you at every step of life

Pakistan Library Association Federal Branch organized a National Conference in the beginning

of his tenure from 12- 14 November 2012 The theme of the conference was ldquoCareer development of LISprofessionals and overall improvements of Librariesrdquo

My Dear PULISAA Family Members

I feel pleasure while communicating with youthrough this Newsletter and sharing my viewsand thoughts at the end of year 2012 You mighthave entered in 2013 when you receive thisnewsletter I would like to congratulate wholeeditorial team of newsletter and the alumni whocontributed in any way They also deserve appre-ciation because the newsletter is improving asthey are gaining experience and taking criticismpositively The most important thing is the conti-nuity which has increased its acceptability andalumni has started waiting next issue after everyissue I am really happy that Ashraf Shakoori hasproved himself a good team leader and took thewhole team with him Itrsquos not one man show butits team work which is more encouraging andmatter of satisfaction for me as PULISAA familyhead I suggest team to print hard copy of issuesof year 2012 of PULISAA Newsletter and circu-late among members

In eight months we have started our work andcontinuing educa-tion has beenfocused The committee has arranged workshops on different areas withthe help of department We have also constituted another committee tofind out the avenues to organize programmes with collaboration with otherprofessional organizations I am sure they would be able to organizesome massive programmes during the year 2013 PULISAA also orga-nized dinner and alumni spent a beautiful evening with Amjad Islam Am- jad in the lawn of Punjab University Library

I do believe there is always room for improvement so I admit that we

could do much more in 2012 and I also understand that PULISAA execu-tive members worked with full devotion and commitment But we must dobetter and do something extraordinary so shall try for this in the year2013

The Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS) University of the Punjab Lahore

recently organized two consecutive workshops on Research Ethics EndNote and Turnitin These

workshops were designed specifically for the PU faculty members to facilitate them in conducting re-

DLIS in her inaugural address emphasized on the

need of learning research ethics and the use of

Turnitin software for plagiarism checking value of

proper citing in research and using EndNote soft-

ware for managing References Dr Shafiq Ur

Rehman coordinator of the workshop welcomed

the participants and introduced them with work-

shopThe workshop consisted of four sessions

In the first session Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen pre-

sented an overview of the research ethics to be

followed in research writings from the research

design to the reporting stage The second session

was hands on practice conducted by Dr Nosheen

Fatima in computer laboratory of the department for

Turnitin

Next day in the third session Dr Khalid

Mahmood highlighted how to identify and format

citing elements in the text and in reference list

bibliography

In the last session Dr Shafiq Ur Rehman explored

various features of EndNote software through

hands-on practice on searching sorting importing

and organizing references electronically with Mi-

crosoft Word option Cite While You Write

(CWYW) In the concluding session Dr Kanwal

Ameen appreciated the participants for their deep

interest in the workshop The participants also

applauded the efforts of DLIS for organizing such

a useful and much needed workshop and sug-

gested more workshops for in-depth learning At

the end the chairperson distributed certificates to

the participants In total Forty six faculty members from 25 teaching departments attended the work-

shop

Alumni associations play a very important role in providing linkages between senior and junioralumnus and bridge a gap between them by providing opportunities for get together and share their mem-oirs and experiences It also makes a channel of conversation between them for a very successive careerbuilding career counseling to juniors and sharing of experiences

Punjab University Library and Information Science Association (PULISAA) is also providing suchopportunities for its alumni the library professionals faculty and the students In the second meeting of thePULISAA it was decided to celebrate annual dinner on November This time the event drew its scheduleafter Eid-ul-Azha and so Eid Milan programme was also amalgamated in this event of memorization andfurther more positive nod from the famous poet ldquoAmjad Islam Amjadrdquo this dinner became very significant for

the library professionals and it became a verybeautiful evening with Amjad Islam Amjad

The dinner was organized in the lawnsof Punjab University Main library and the chieflibrarian Ch Muhammad Hanif provided its organ-izational charges Mr Asif Bilal and his team triedput their maximum under the supervision of presi-

dent PULISAA Muhammad Shahid Soroya andpatron Dr Kanwal Amin for making this event asuccess to PULISAA A very large number ofalumni attended this event

Dr Nosheen Fatima Warriach Secre-tary PULISAA conducted the stage and made thisevent very successful by her remarks MuhammadShahid Soroya in his presidential address appreci-ated the management team and coordinators fororganizing a wonderful evening He thanked ChHanif Dr Ramzan and Dr Khalid Mahmood fortheir continuous support He shared future pro-grammes with alumni and also thanked the alumni for coming from different cities of Pakistan Mr Soroyaexpressed his commitment to strengthen the activities of PULISAA and to organize more such type of gath-erings with the help of team members Dr Kanwal Amin shared her views and beautifully addressed to herteachers her colleagues and the entire community of students

Director General National Library of Pakistan specially came from Islamabad to participate in thisdinner and he was very happy to be among information professionals and told that it was a very happy gettogether He advised to carry on these activities

Amjad Islam Amjad made this event joyous with her poetry He recited number of his famous poems to theaudience on their demand in this evening with him on this annual dinner He remembered his days andlinkages with the professionals and expressed that librarians have provided him a very powerful literaryreviews to make him famous to this stage He remained busy in giving autographs to his fans and for photosessions

The dinner came to an end but enhanced the memoirs of the alumnus to keep their link with their

institution alive and to connect with their fellow professionals Days gone will never come but their memoirs

smooth the environment for the days to come

Coming to your question I was born on 5 November 1943 in district Shiekupura where I completed my matriculation fromFarooqabad School After that I passed intermediate and graduation examinations from Govt College Shiekupura

InfoPULISAA Did you come to this field by choice or incident

Malik Siddique This was totally incidental because when I came to Lahore in 1967 after completion of my graduation I wanted tobecome lawyer and applied for LLB in Law College Later a friend who met on the way suggested me to apply for admission inlibrary science also

InfoPULISAA How and when did you join library science

Malik Siddique In 1968 I got admission in library science diploma course for one year I stood first in diploma examination andafter 20 days of my diploma result I got my first job I joined as Assistant Librarian (BPS-11) on 20 October 1969 in the PunjabUniversity Library

InfoPULISAA Would you brief on Governmentrsquos criterion of promotion for MLIS diploma holders

Malik Siddique The designation for the diploma holders in library science was assistant librarian but in Punjab Governmentthose who joined college or university got the designation of librarian In 1969 according to Punjab Governmentrsquos official notifica-tion the librarian was able to get BPS-17 while Assistant Librarian BPS-16

InfoPULISAA Have you worked for any organization

Malik Siddique From1969 to 1974 we worked hard for status and designation of librarian To achieve this purpose we estab-lished Punjab University Librarians Association (PULA) On the platform of PULA we demanded our rights MrMushtaq BasheerAli Malik who were our senior teachers also got promotions in grade 16 and 17 the same year

InfoPULISAA Did you go to Karachi University for MLS and if not what was the reason

Malik Siddique I wrote an application to my authorities for getting MLS admission in Karachi but they refused The authorityasked me to resign if I wanted to go to Karachi University for MLS At that time I couldnrsquot go to Karachi University for MLS due tofinancial constraints

InfoPULISAA When did you pass your MLS

Malik Siddique I passed MLS in 1976 from the University of Punjab with distinctive marks

InfoPULISAA Have you introduced any distinctive servicefacility for MLS professionals

Malik Siddique For MLS degree holders we introduced a new structure for the librarian in the Punjab University Library Thehierarchy of Chief Librarian Deputy Chief Librarian Senior Librarian and Assistant Librarian was established

InfoPULISAA When did you join Library Science Department of Punjab University

Malik Siddique I joined Punjab University Library Science Department as a part time faculty member in 1977 till1982 Then I joined this department as a lecturer in 1988 to1993 I served it for almost 10 years

InfoPULISAA Would you recall about other colleagues in the faculty

Malik Siddique When I joined Mushtaq Ahamed was head of the department Afzal Haq Qurshi and Madam Umera Shah were

Malik Siddique I taught many renowned students but I feel proud of Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood and Dr Rafique Awan who didtheir PhDs later It is interesting that I learnt computer from my student Prof Dr Khalid

InfoPULISAA Why could you not do M Phil or PhDMalik Siddique There was no M Phil or PhD facility for Library Science in the Punjab University at that time Only two degreeswere being offered by the department ndash diploma and MLS The Ph Ds from abroad did not prefer to serve here but went to KuwaitSaudi Arabia and Malaysia When Prof DrKhalid became head of the department heintroduced M Phil and Ph D degrees in2005

InfoPULISAA Why did you say goodbye to the department

Malik Siddique In 2003 I got retired fromthe University of Punjab after completing 60years of service

Malik Siddique I contributed two articles inPULISAA newsletter on Inductive Methodsof Research and Library Science Literaturein Pakistan

InfoPULISAA What kind of role thedepartment can play in present marketsituation of LIS

Malik Siddique Todayrsquos library market of LIS has gone beyond the traditional LIS The responsibility of library schools has alsobeen increased in compiling curriculum and counseling of students I feel that students from library schools lack confidence whenthey come to the market which do not let them flourish They have to suffer in the field due to lack of communicative skills Thelibrary schools should play effective role to build confidence and communicative skills during the academic studies according to themarket requirements

InfoPULISAA How can the image of our profession can be improved

Malik Siddique Commitment and hard work are key to raise status of our professionals and profession

InfoPULISAA Any other memory of professional life

Malik Siddique Every moment of life is memorable because it becomes our past but the welcome and farewell functions andtours especially of Murree Narran Kagan are unforgettable

InfoPULISAA What about your family

Malik Siddique I have a happy family of a wife and four children including three sons and a daughter hold MSc degrees and en- joying family life

Malik Siddique Life after retirement is Alhamdulillah going also good After retirement I joined ldquoShirkat Ghardquo and now I am work-ing as a researcher for Nazria Pakistan Foundation I wrote two other books with the collaboration of ldquoNazira Pakistan Foundationincluding ldquoContribution of Muslim Scientistrdquo and ldquoThe Creation of Real Estate in South Asiardquo

InfoPULISAA What difference do you feel between jobs in public and private sectors

Malik Siddique The difference between public and private sectors is point of encouragement The public sector usually does notencourage its staff while private sector encourages its employees and utilize their skills in a better wayI want to share the samecase happen to me when I was the student of MLIS I want to take thesis as a course that time Dr Mumtaz Ali Anwar was the headof the department he took my interview for the thesis permission the first question in the interview was ldquocan you do itrdquo that time Iseems like to be Pendu(villager Guy) maybe thatrsquos why he thought that how can he do it but I said ldquoYes sir I can do it rdquo And Iobtained 180 marks out of 200 in my thesis

InfoPULISAA Any advice or message for new professionals and PULISAA team

Malik Siddique My advice for the young professionals is that they should work hard and be confident to have the capacity to doeverything If they are committed they can chase every task For the students I want to suggest dear try to learn read or learnfrom the original text or produce them in your own writing not merely rely on others notes The PULISAA is doing good work MayAllah give success to all of you at every step of life

Pakistan Library Association Federal Branch organized a National Conference in the beginning

of his tenure from 12- 14 November 2012 The theme of the conference was ldquoCareer development of LISprofessionals and overall improvements of Librariesrdquo

The Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS) University of the Punjab Lahore

recently organized two consecutive workshops on Research Ethics EndNote and Turnitin These

workshops were designed specifically for the PU faculty members to facilitate them in conducting re-

DLIS in her inaugural address emphasized on the

need of learning research ethics and the use of

Turnitin software for plagiarism checking value of

proper citing in research and using EndNote soft-

ware for managing References Dr Shafiq Ur

Rehman coordinator of the workshop welcomed

the participants and introduced them with work-

shopThe workshop consisted of four sessions

In the first session Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen pre-

sented an overview of the research ethics to be

followed in research writings from the research

design to the reporting stage The second session

was hands on practice conducted by Dr Nosheen

Fatima in computer laboratory of the department for

Turnitin

Next day in the third session Dr Khalid

Mahmood highlighted how to identify and format

citing elements in the text and in reference list

bibliography

In the last session Dr Shafiq Ur Rehman explored

various features of EndNote software through

hands-on practice on searching sorting importing

and organizing references electronically with Mi-

crosoft Word option Cite While You Write

(CWYW) In the concluding session Dr Kanwal

Ameen appreciated the participants for their deep

interest in the workshop The participants also

applauded the efforts of DLIS for organizing such

a useful and much needed workshop and sug-

gested more workshops for in-depth learning At

the end the chairperson distributed certificates to

the participants In total Forty six faculty members from 25 teaching departments attended the work-

shop

Alumni associations play a very important role in providing linkages between senior and junioralumnus and bridge a gap between them by providing opportunities for get together and share their mem-oirs and experiences It also makes a channel of conversation between them for a very successive careerbuilding career counseling to juniors and sharing of experiences

Punjab University Library and Information Science Association (PULISAA) is also providing suchopportunities for its alumni the library professionals faculty and the students In the second meeting of thePULISAA it was decided to celebrate annual dinner on November This time the event drew its scheduleafter Eid-ul-Azha and so Eid Milan programme was also amalgamated in this event of memorization andfurther more positive nod from the famous poet ldquoAmjad Islam Amjadrdquo this dinner became very significant for

the library professionals and it became a verybeautiful evening with Amjad Islam Amjad

The dinner was organized in the lawnsof Punjab University Main library and the chieflibrarian Ch Muhammad Hanif provided its organ-izational charges Mr Asif Bilal and his team triedput their maximum under the supervision of presi-

dent PULISAA Muhammad Shahid Soroya andpatron Dr Kanwal Amin for making this event asuccess to PULISAA A very large number ofalumni attended this event

Dr Nosheen Fatima Warriach Secre-tary PULISAA conducted the stage and made thisevent very successful by her remarks MuhammadShahid Soroya in his presidential address appreci-ated the management team and coordinators fororganizing a wonderful evening He thanked ChHanif Dr Ramzan and Dr Khalid Mahmood fortheir continuous support He shared future pro-grammes with alumni and also thanked the alumni for coming from different cities of Pakistan Mr Soroyaexpressed his commitment to strengthen the activities of PULISAA and to organize more such type of gath-erings with the help of team members Dr Kanwal Amin shared her views and beautifully addressed to herteachers her colleagues and the entire community of students

Director General National Library of Pakistan specially came from Islamabad to participate in thisdinner and he was very happy to be among information professionals and told that it was a very happy gettogether He advised to carry on these activities

Amjad Islam Amjad made this event joyous with her poetry He recited number of his famous poems to theaudience on their demand in this evening with him on this annual dinner He remembered his days andlinkages with the professionals and expressed that librarians have provided him a very powerful literaryreviews to make him famous to this stage He remained busy in giving autographs to his fans and for photosessions

The dinner came to an end but enhanced the memoirs of the alumnus to keep their link with their

institution alive and to connect with their fellow professionals Days gone will never come but their memoirs

smooth the environment for the days to come

Coming to your question I was born on 5 November 1943 in district Shiekupura where I completed my matriculation fromFarooqabad School After that I passed intermediate and graduation examinations from Govt College Shiekupura

InfoPULISAA Did you come to this field by choice or incident

Malik Siddique This was totally incidental because when I came to Lahore in 1967 after completion of my graduation I wanted tobecome lawyer and applied for LLB in Law College Later a friend who met on the way suggested me to apply for admission inlibrary science also

InfoPULISAA How and when did you join library science

Malik Siddique In 1968 I got admission in library science diploma course for one year I stood first in diploma examination andafter 20 days of my diploma result I got my first job I joined as Assistant Librarian (BPS-11) on 20 October 1969 in the PunjabUniversity Library

InfoPULISAA Would you brief on Governmentrsquos criterion of promotion for MLIS diploma holders

Malik Siddique The designation for the diploma holders in library science was assistant librarian but in Punjab Governmentthose who joined college or university got the designation of librarian In 1969 according to Punjab Governmentrsquos official notifica-tion the librarian was able to get BPS-17 while Assistant Librarian BPS-16

InfoPULISAA Have you worked for any organization

Malik Siddique From1969 to 1974 we worked hard for status and designation of librarian To achieve this purpose we estab-lished Punjab University Librarians Association (PULA) On the platform of PULA we demanded our rights MrMushtaq BasheerAli Malik who were our senior teachers also got promotions in grade 16 and 17 the same year

InfoPULISAA Did you go to Karachi University for MLS and if not what was the reason

Malik Siddique I wrote an application to my authorities for getting MLS admission in Karachi but they refused The authorityasked me to resign if I wanted to go to Karachi University for MLS At that time I couldnrsquot go to Karachi University for MLS due tofinancial constraints

InfoPULISAA When did you pass your MLS

Malik Siddique I passed MLS in 1976 from the University of Punjab with distinctive marks

InfoPULISAA Have you introduced any distinctive servicefacility for MLS professionals

Malik Siddique For MLS degree holders we introduced a new structure for the librarian in the Punjab University Library Thehierarchy of Chief Librarian Deputy Chief Librarian Senior Librarian and Assistant Librarian was established

InfoPULISAA When did you join Library Science Department of Punjab University

Malik Siddique I joined Punjab University Library Science Department as a part time faculty member in 1977 till1982 Then I joined this department as a lecturer in 1988 to1993 I served it for almost 10 years

InfoPULISAA Would you recall about other colleagues in the faculty

Malik Siddique When I joined Mushtaq Ahamed was head of the department Afzal Haq Qurshi and Madam Umera Shah were

Malik Siddique I taught many renowned students but I feel proud of Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood and Dr Rafique Awan who didtheir PhDs later It is interesting that I learnt computer from my student Prof Dr Khalid

InfoPULISAA Why could you not do M Phil or PhDMalik Siddique There was no M Phil or PhD facility for Library Science in the Punjab University at that time Only two degreeswere being offered by the department ndash diploma and MLS The Ph Ds from abroad did not prefer to serve here but went to KuwaitSaudi Arabia and Malaysia When Prof DrKhalid became head of the department heintroduced M Phil and Ph D degrees in2005

InfoPULISAA Why did you say goodbye to the department

Malik Siddique In 2003 I got retired fromthe University of Punjab after completing 60years of service

Malik Siddique I contributed two articles inPULISAA newsletter on Inductive Methodsof Research and Library Science Literaturein Pakistan

InfoPULISAA What kind of role thedepartment can play in present marketsituation of LIS

Malik Siddique Todayrsquos library market of LIS has gone beyond the traditional LIS The responsibility of library schools has alsobeen increased in compiling curriculum and counseling of students I feel that students from library schools lack confidence whenthey come to the market which do not let them flourish They have to suffer in the field due to lack of communicative skills Thelibrary schools should play effective role to build confidence and communicative skills during the academic studies according to themarket requirements

InfoPULISAA How can the image of our profession can be improved

Malik Siddique Commitment and hard work are key to raise status of our professionals and profession

InfoPULISAA Any other memory of professional life

Malik Siddique Every moment of life is memorable because it becomes our past but the welcome and farewell functions andtours especially of Murree Narran Kagan are unforgettable

InfoPULISAA What about your family

Malik Siddique I have a happy family of a wife and four children including three sons and a daughter hold MSc degrees and en- joying family life

InfoPULISAA Life after retirement

Malik Siddique Life after retirement is Alhamdulillah going also good After retirement I joined ldquoShirkat Ghardquo and now I am work-ing as a researcher for Nazria Pakistan Foundation I wrote two other books with the collaboration of ldquoNazira Pakistan Foundationincluding ldquoContribution of Muslim Scientistrdquo and ldquoThe Creation of Real Estate in South Asiardquo

InfoPULISAA What difference do you feel between jobs in public and private sectors

Malik Siddique The difference between public and private sectors is point of encouragement The public sector usually does notencourage its staff while private sector encourages its employees and utilize their skills in a better wayI want to share the samecase happen to me when I was the student of MLIS I want to take thesis as a course that time Dr Mumtaz Ali Anwar was the headof the department he took my interview for the thesis permission the first question in the interview was ldquocan you do itrdquo that time Iseems like to be Pendu(villager Guy) maybe thatrsquos why he thought that how can he do it but I said ldquoYes sir I can do it rdquo And Iobtained 180 marks out of 200 in my thesis

InfoPULISAA Any advice or message for new professionals and PULISAA team

Malik Siddique My advice for the young professionals is that they should work hard and be confident to have the capacity to doeverything If they are committed they can chase every task For the students I want to suggest dear try to learn read or learnfrom the original text or produce them in your own writing not merely rely on others notes The PULISAA is doing good work MayAllah give success to all of you at every step of life

Alumni associations play a very important role in providing linkages between senior and junioralumnus and bridge a gap between them by providing opportunities for get together and share their mem-oirs and experiences It also makes a channel of conversation between them for a very successive careerbuilding career counseling to juniors and sharing of experiences

Punjab University Library and Information Science Association (PULISAA) is also providing suchopportunities for its alumni the library professionals faculty and the students In the second meeting of thePULISAA it was decided to celebrate annual dinner on November This time the event drew its scheduleafter Eid-ul-Azha and so Eid Milan programme was also amalgamated in this event of memorization andfurther more positive nod from the famous poet ldquoAmjad Islam Amjadrdquo this dinner became very significant for

the library professionals and it became a verybeautiful evening with Amjad Islam Amjad

The dinner was organized in the lawnsof Punjab University Main library and the chieflibrarian Ch Muhammad Hanif provided its organ-izational charges Mr Asif Bilal and his team triedput their maximum under the supervision of presi-

dent PULISAA Muhammad Shahid Soroya andpatron Dr Kanwal Amin for making this event asuccess to PULISAA A very large number ofalumni attended this event

Dr Nosheen Fatima Warriach Secre-tary PULISAA conducted the stage and made thisevent very successful by her remarks MuhammadShahid Soroya in his presidential address appreci-ated the management team and coordinators fororganizing a wonderful evening He thanked ChHanif Dr Ramzan and Dr Khalid Mahmood fortheir continuous support He shared future pro-grammes with alumni and also thanked the alumni for coming from different cities of Pakistan Mr Soroyaexpressed his commitment to strengthen the activities of PULISAA and to organize more such type of gath-erings with the help of team members Dr Kanwal Amin shared her views and beautifully addressed to herteachers her colleagues and the entire community of students

Director General National Library of Pakistan specially came from Islamabad to participate in thisdinner and he was very happy to be among information professionals and told that it was a very happy gettogether He advised to carry on these activities

Amjad Islam Amjad made this event joyous with her poetry He recited number of his famous poems to theaudience on their demand in this evening with him on this annual dinner He remembered his days andlinkages with the professionals and expressed that librarians have provided him a very powerful literaryreviews to make him famous to this stage He remained busy in giving autographs to his fans and for photosessions

The dinner came to an end but enhanced the memoirs of the alumnus to keep their link with their

institution alive and to connect with their fellow professionals Days gone will never come but their memoirs

smooth the environment for the days to come

Coming to your question I was born on 5 November 1943 in district Shiekupura where I completed my matriculation fromFarooqabad School After that I passed intermediate and graduation examinations from Govt College Shiekupura

InfoPULISAA Did you come to this field by choice or incident

Malik Siddique This was totally incidental because when I came to Lahore in 1967 after completion of my graduation I wanted tobecome lawyer and applied for LLB in Law College Later a friend who met on the way suggested me to apply for admission inlibrary science also

InfoPULISAA How and when did you join library science

Malik Siddique In 1968 I got admission in library science diploma course for one year I stood first in diploma examination andafter 20 days of my diploma result I got my first job I joined as Assistant Librarian (BPS-11) on 20 October 1969 in the PunjabUniversity Library

InfoPULISAA Would you brief on Governmentrsquos criterion of promotion for MLIS diploma holders

Malik Siddique The designation for the diploma holders in library science was assistant librarian but in Punjab Governmentthose who joined college or university got the designation of librarian In 1969 according to Punjab Governmentrsquos official notifica-tion the librarian was able to get BPS-17 while Assistant Librarian BPS-16

InfoPULISAA Have you worked for any organization

Malik Siddique From1969 to 1974 we worked hard for status and designation of librarian To achieve this purpose we estab-lished Punjab University Librarians Association (PULA) On the platform of PULA we demanded our rights MrMushtaq BasheerAli Malik who were our senior teachers also got promotions in grade 16 and 17 the same year

InfoPULISAA Did you go to Karachi University for MLS and if not what was the reason

Malik Siddique I wrote an application to my authorities for getting MLS admission in Karachi but they refused The authorityasked me to resign if I wanted to go to Karachi University for MLS At that time I couldnrsquot go to Karachi University for MLS due tofinancial constraints

InfoPULISAA When did you pass your MLS

Malik Siddique I passed MLS in 1976 from the University of Punjab with distinctive marks

InfoPULISAA Have you introduced any distinctive servicefacility for MLS professionals

Malik Siddique For MLS degree holders we introduced a new structure for the librarian in the Punjab University Library Thehierarchy of Chief Librarian Deputy Chief Librarian Senior Librarian and Assistant Librarian was established

InfoPULISAA When did you join Library Science Department of Punjab University

Malik Siddique I joined Punjab University Library Science Department as a part time faculty member in 1977 till1982 Then I joined this department as a lecturer in 1988 to1993 I served it for almost 10 years

Malik Siddique When I joined Mushtaq Ahamed was head of the department Afzal Haq Qurshi and Madam Umera Shah were

Malik Siddique I taught many renowned students but I feel proud of Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood and Dr Rafique Awan who didtheir PhDs later It is interesting that I learnt computer from my student Prof Dr Khalid

InfoPULISAA Why could you not do M Phil or PhDMalik Siddique There was no M Phil or PhD facility for Library Science in the Punjab University at that time Only two degreeswere being offered by the department ndash diploma and MLS The Ph Ds from abroad did not prefer to serve here but went to KuwaitSaudi Arabia and Malaysia When Prof DrKhalid became head of the department heintroduced M Phil and Ph D degrees in2005

InfoPULISAA Why did you say goodbye to the department

Malik Siddique In 2003 I got retired fromthe University of Punjab after completing 60years of service

Malik Siddique I contributed two articles inPULISAA newsletter on Inductive Methodsof Research and Library Science Literaturein Pakistan

InfoPULISAA What kind of role thedepartment can play in present marketsituation of LIS

Malik Siddique Todayrsquos library market of LIS has gone beyond the traditional LIS The responsibility of library schools has alsobeen increased in compiling curriculum and counseling of students I feel that students from library schools lack confidence whenthey come to the market which do not let them flourish They have to suffer in the field due to lack of communicative skills Thelibrary schools should play effective role to build confidence and communicative skills during the academic studies according to themarket requirements

InfoPULISAA How can the image of our profession can be improved

Malik Siddique Commitment and hard work are key to raise status of our professionals and profession

InfoPULISAA Any other memory of professional life

Malik Siddique Every moment of life is memorable because it becomes our past but the welcome and farewell functions andtours especially of Murree Narran Kagan are unforgettable

Malik Siddique I have a happy family of a wife and four children including three sons and a daughter hold MSc degrees and en- joying family life

Malik Siddique Life after retirement is Alhamdulillah going also good After retirement I joined ldquoShirkat Ghardquo and now I am work-ing as a researcher for Nazria Pakistan Foundation I wrote two other books with the collaboration of ldquoNazira Pakistan Foundationincluding ldquoContribution of Muslim Scientistrdquo and ldquoThe Creation of Real Estate in South Asiardquo

InfoPULISAA What difference do you feel between jobs in public and private sectors

Malik Siddique The difference between public and private sectors is point of encouragement The public sector usually does notencourage its staff while private sector encourages its employees and utilize their skills in a better wayI want to share the samecase happen to me when I was the student of MLIS I want to take thesis as a course that time Dr Mumtaz Ali Anwar was the headof the department he took my interview for the thesis permission the first question in the interview was ldquocan you do itrdquo that time Iseems like to be Pendu(villager Guy) maybe thatrsquos why he thought that how can he do it but I said ldquoYes sir I can do it rdquo And Iobtained 180 marks out of 200 in my thesis

InfoPULISAA Any advice or message for new professionals and PULISAA team

Malik Siddique My advice for the young professionals is that they should work hard and be confident to have the capacity to doeverything If they are committed they can chase every task For the students I want to suggest dear try to learn read or learnfrom the original text or produce them in your own writing not merely rely on others notes The PULISAA is doing good work MayAllah give success to all of you at every step of life

Coming to your question I was born on 5 November 1943 in district Shiekupura where I completed my matriculation fromFarooqabad School After that I passed intermediate and graduation examinations from Govt College Shiekupura

InfoPULISAA Did you come to this field by choice or incident

Malik Siddique This was totally incidental because when I came to Lahore in 1967 after completion of my graduation I wanted tobecome lawyer and applied for LLB in Law College Later a friend who met on the way suggested me to apply for admission inlibrary science also

InfoPULISAA How and when did you join library science

Malik Siddique In 1968 I got admission in library science diploma course for one year I stood first in diploma examination andafter 20 days of my diploma result I got my first job I joined as Assistant Librarian (BPS-11) on 20 October 1969 in the PunjabUniversity Library

InfoPULISAA Would you brief on Governmentrsquos criterion of promotion for MLIS diploma holders

Malik Siddique The designation for the diploma holders in library science was assistant librarian but in Punjab Governmentthose who joined college or university got the designation of librarian In 1969 according to Punjab Governmentrsquos official notifica-tion the librarian was able to get BPS-17 while Assistant Librarian BPS-16

InfoPULISAA Have you worked for any organization

Malik Siddique From1969 to 1974 we worked hard for status and designation of librarian To achieve this purpose we estab-lished Punjab University Librarians Association (PULA) On the platform of PULA we demanded our rights MrMushtaq BasheerAli Malik who were our senior teachers also got promotions in grade 16 and 17 the same year

InfoPULISAA Did you go to Karachi University for MLS and if not what was the reason

Malik Siddique I wrote an application to my authorities for getting MLS admission in Karachi but they refused The authorityasked me to resign if I wanted to go to Karachi University for MLS At that time I couldnrsquot go to Karachi University for MLS due tofinancial constraints

InfoPULISAA When did you pass your MLS

Malik Siddique I passed MLS in 1976 from the University of Punjab with distinctive marks

InfoPULISAA Have you introduced any distinctive servicefacility for MLS professionals

Malik Siddique For MLS degree holders we introduced a new structure for the librarian in the Punjab University Library Thehierarchy of Chief Librarian Deputy Chief Librarian Senior Librarian and Assistant Librarian was established

InfoPULISAA When did you join Library Science Department of Punjab University

Malik Siddique I joined Punjab University Library Science Department as a part time faculty member in 1977 till1982 Then I joined this department as a lecturer in 1988 to1993 I served it for almost 10 years

Malik Siddique When I joined Mushtaq Ahamed was head of the department Afzal Haq Qurshi and Madam Umera Shah were

Malik Siddique I taught many renowned students but I feel proud of Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood and Dr Rafique Awan who didtheir PhDs later It is interesting that I learnt computer from my student Prof Dr Khalid

InfoPULISAA Why could you not do M Phil or PhDMalik Siddique There was no M Phil or PhD facility for Library Science in the Punjab University at that time Only two degreeswere being offered by the department ndash diploma and MLS The Ph Ds from abroad did not prefer to serve here but went to KuwaitSaudi Arabia and Malaysia When Prof DrKhalid became head of the department heintroduced M Phil and Ph D degrees in2005

InfoPULISAA Why did you say goodbye to the department

Malik Siddique In 2003 I got retired fromthe University of Punjab after completing 60years of service

Malik Siddique I contributed two articles inPULISAA newsletter on Inductive Methodsof Research and Library Science Literaturein Pakistan

InfoPULISAA What kind of role thedepartment can play in present marketsituation of LIS

Malik Siddique Todayrsquos library market of LIS has gone beyond the traditional LIS The responsibility of library schools has alsobeen increased in compiling curriculum and counseling of students I feel that students from library schools lack confidence whenthey come to the market which do not let them flourish They have to suffer in the field due to lack of communicative skills Thelibrary schools should play effective role to build confidence and communicative skills during the academic studies according to themarket requirements

InfoPULISAA How can the image of our profession can be improved

Malik Siddique Commitment and hard work are key to raise status of our professionals and profession

InfoPULISAA Any other memory of professional life

Malik Siddique Every moment of life is memorable because it becomes our past but the welcome and farewell functions andtours especially of Murree Narran Kagan are unforgettable

Malik Siddique I have a happy family of a wife and four children including three sons and a daughter hold MSc degrees and en- joying family life

InfoPULISAA Life after retirement

Malik Siddique Life after retirement is Alhamdulillah going also good After retirement I joined ldquoShirkat Ghardquo and now I am work-ing as a researcher for Nazria Pakistan Foundation I wrote two other books with the collaboration of ldquoNazira Pakistan Foundationincluding ldquoContribution of Muslim Scientistrdquo and ldquoThe Creation of Real Estate in South Asiardquo

InfoPULISAA What difference do you feel between jobs in public and private sectors

Malik Siddique The difference between public and private sectors is point of encouragement The public sector usually does notencourage its staff while private sector encourages its employees and utilize their skills in a better wayI want to share the samecase happen to me when I was the student of MLIS I want to take thesis as a course that time Dr Mumtaz Ali Anwar was the headof the department he took my interview for the thesis permission the first question in the interview was ldquocan you do itrdquo that time Iseems like to be Pendu(villager Guy) maybe thatrsquos why he thought that how can he do it but I said ldquoYes sir I can do it rdquo And Iobtained 180 marks out of 200 in my thesis

InfoPULISAA Any advice or message for new professionals and PULISAA team

Malik Siddique My advice for the young professionals is that they should work hard and be confident to have the capacity to doeverything If they are committed they can chase every task For the students I want to suggest dear try to learn read or learnfrom the original text or produce them in your own writing not merely rely on others notes The PULISAA is doing good work MayAllah give success to all of you at every step of life

Malik Siddique Todayrsquos library market of LIS has gone beyond the traditional LIS The responsibility of library schools has alsobeen increased in compiling curriculum and counseling of students I feel that students from library schools lack confidence whenthey come to the market which do not let them flourish They have to suffer in the field due to lack of communicative skills Thelibrary schools should play effective role to build confidence and communicative skills during the academic studies according to themarket requirements

Malik Siddique Commitment and hard work are key to raise status of our professionals and profession

Malik Siddique Every moment of life is memorable because it becomes our past but the welcome and farewell functions andtours especially of Murree Narran Kagan are unforgettable

Malik Siddique Life after retirement is Alhamdulillah going also good After retirement I joined ldquoShirkat Ghardquo and now I am work-ing as a researcher for Nazria Pakistan Foundation I wrote two other books with the collaboration of ldquoNazira Pakistan Foundationincluding ldquoContribution of Muslim Scientistrdquo and ldquoThe Creation of Real Estate in South Asiardquo

InfoPULISAA What difference do you feel between jobs in public and private sectors

Malik Siddique The difference between public and private sectors is point of encouragement The public sector usually does notencourage its staff while private sector encourages its employees and utilize their skills in a better wayI want to share the samecase happen to me when I was the student of MLIS I want to take thesis as a course that time Dr Mumtaz Ali Anwar was the headof the department he took my interview for the thesis permission the first question in the interview was ldquocan you do itrdquo that time Iseems like to be Pendu(villager Guy) maybe thatrsquos why he thought that how can he do it but I said ldquoYes sir I can do it rdquo And Iobtained 180 marks out of 200 in my thesis

InfoPULISAA Any advice or message for new professionals and PULISAA team

Malik Siddique My advice for the young professionals is that they should work hard and be confident to have the capacity to doeverything If they are committed they can chase every task For the students I want to suggest dear try to learn read or learnfrom the original text or produce them in your own writing not merely rely on others notes The PULISAA is doing good work MayAllah give success to all of you at every step of life

Pakistan Library Association Federal Branch organized a National Conference in the beginning

of his tenure from 12- 14 November 2012 The theme of the conference was ldquoCareer development of LISprofessionals and overall improvements of Librariesrdquo

The conference started with the recitation from the verses of Holy Koran by Mr Atta UrRehman and Naat e Mubaraka by Mr Said Rasool The chief guest of the inaugural session was MrFawad Ahamd Chaudhary Special Assistant to Prime Minister Guest of honor was Ms Riffat ShaheenQazi Secretary (CAampD) and Presided by Ch Muhammad Nazir Key note speaker was Dr KhalidMahmood The secretary of the session was Mr Ghayoor Ahmad It was matter of great honor that about90 of the research papers were presented by alumni of University of the Punjab Lahore It was great

event to remember that President PULISAA and SecretaryGeneral Pakistan Library Association Mr Muhammad Sha-hid Soroya presented eight papers in conference as principaland co-author
