1. SME Application Content developers who are interested in working for Skill Planet projects are required to complete the online form of the Skill Planet website

2. Collecting Credentials Applicants need to provide their personal documents (CV, etc.) to the Skill Planet team

3. Skill Assessment Test Every applicant is required to conduct a Skill Assessment test which evaluates language skills, an understanding of the skill domain as well as subject knowledge

4. Project Arrival Once the Skill Planet team receives a project within its´ large network of clients, the SME selection process starts

5. Approaching SMEs in Skill Planet Community Depending on the project, Skill Planet selects and approaches appropriate SMEs within the community with the help of three essential steps:

Filter profiles as per assignment

Screening & Short Listing of

SMEs

Orientation Session with

SME and Client

6. Collecting Sample Content Every SME who is being considered by Skill Planet for a certain project is supposed to submit sample content to the Skill Planet team. This sample content

needs to be about the respective sector and the particular job role of the project

7. Reviewing Sample Content The provided sample content passes through both a subject and a language review conducted by experts of the Skill Planet community in order to evaluate the

SMEs ability to provide high quality content

8. NDA between SME and Skill Planet Those SMEs whose sample contents have been approved are required to sign an NDA to ensure content confidentiality before finally being considered for the

project

9. Deploying SME As soon as the SMEs credentials are complete, the sample contents have been evaluated and NDAs signed, the official deployment starts

10. Conduct Client and SME Briefing Once the SMEs for a project are defined, Skill Planet briefs…

o …the client by providing the SMEs educational background and contact information

o …the SME by providing detailed project information and content requirements that have to be fulfilled

11. Start of Assignment As soon as the assignment starts, every party is aware of its´ tasks and objectives:

o The SME is aware of the project framework, the client´s expectations and the content requirements

o The client is aware of the SMEs identity and background as well as of the date of content delivery

o Skill Planet maintains contact with both the client and the SME to ensure an optimal communication

12. Content Creation Process During the process of content creation Skill Planet keeps in touch with the SME to be able to control the work progress. By defining milestones and reviewing

intermediate results, Skill Planet supports the SME and assures a timely delivery of high quality content to its´ clients

13. Receiving Content The content developed by the SME has to pass three review filters which are

o Plagiarism Check

o Subject & Cross Review

o Language Review

As soon as the content does not pass one of these filters, the SME is required to modify or develop new content

Review Submission

14. Applying Plagiarism Check As a first step, the content passes through a plagiarism check to ascertain that the content is not derived from already existing sources

15. Subject Review & Cross Review Secondly, a subject and cross review conducted by experts from the Skill Planet community ensures the appropriateness of the developed content in terms of

content…

…originality

…relevancy

…coverage

…objectivity

16. Language Review To finish the review process, language experts within the Skill Planet community revise the content provided by the SMEs to guarantee language accuracy

17. Submission to Client After successfully having passed the three review phases (plagiarism check, subject review and language review), Skill Planet submits the content to the client

18. Client Feedback After every content submission, Skill Planet asks for client feedback in order to optimize content delivery processes and - in case of client dissatisfaction – to

rework/review the content

19. Rework/Review based on Feedback If the client´s expectations have not been fulfilled, Skill Planet approaches and briefs the SME again to review the content and to modify it on the basis of the

client´s feedback

20. Finish the Assignment Finally, Skill Planet submits the modified feedback to the client and remunerates the SME to complete the project

o National Skills Qualifications Framework

o NOSs and QPs

o What should be considered

o Sample assessment and training content

o NOSs and QPs for various Sectors and Job Roles

This part gives a brief understanding of what the job role is about as well as the major tasks

that need to be conducted

A classification of the job role is given here

Page 1… • …introduces the particular

job role • …classifies the job role

into sector, sub-sector and occupation

• …gives a brief job description and mentions personal attributes that are neccessary to perform the job

Page 2… • …mentions several job

details • …gives an overview of the

NSQF level and required minimum educational qualifications

• …provides a list of applicable NOS

Information about the minimum and

maximum qualification

requirements help to decide the language level that needs to be used in content

development

The list of applicable NOS for the

particular job role

Page 3-5… • …provide definitions for

specific terms used in the QP document

• …provide the meaning of aconyms appearing in the QP document

Every QP includes different terms and

definitions. However, the highlighted

definitions are basic vocabulary and should

be known

From page 6/7 on the QP document… • …lists all NOS being

considered for the particular job role and describes their scope

• …mentions necessary Performance Criteria (PC) for every NOS

• …mentions necessary Knowledge Criteria (KA1, KA2,…; KB1, KB2,…, etc.) for every NOS

• …mentions necessary Skill Criteria (SA1, SA2,…; SB1, SB2,…,etc.) for every NOS

PCs should be considered to be the major fundament for

content creation (especially for

assessment content). Once all the PCs are covered under one NOS, scroll down to other NOS and find

even more PCs. Repeat this till the end

of the document.

The last page… • …provides

guidelines and criteria for the assessment of trainers

• …defines the allocation of marks

The matrix specifies every PC of a certain

NOS and mentions the total marks that can be achieved within

this NOS as well as the marks allocation for the individual PCs

The following format could be taken as a basis for the development of assessment content:

The following elements should be included: • The S.No represents the consecutive number of the questions included in the assessment content table • The sector which the assessment content about a particular job role is dealing with • The sub-sector of the assessment content about a particular job role • The nomination of a particular job role that the assessment content is about • The particular name of the NOS the assessment content is dealing with • The level/ difficulty of a particular question of the assessment content (easy, medium, difficult) • The individual PCs within a certain NOS that the assessment content is dealing with • The actual questions of which the assessment content consists • Four different answering options (only one right solution) for the question • The correct option of the question • Pictorial questions should be included (60 – 70% of the questions)

An example of a DAS Installation Electrician in the ELECTRONICS sector

There is no predefined format of how training content looks like. However, there are several elements that should be included in every OS unit of the training document:

Short description of

the OS unit

Scope of the unit described

briefly

Unit name and code

All relevant PCs,

Knowledge as well as Skill

Criteria should be mentioned. Depending on the depth of

the individual element, 6-8

learning contents

should be included for each PC, KA,

SA, etc…
