Switch off electricityand remove plug fromsocket.Features - Get to know the main parts of your dryerWhere to put and vent your dryerYour tumble dryer should NOT be located adjacent to a gas hob,cooker, heater, or eye level grill as flames from the burners couldcause damage to your machine.The dryer should be placed where air can freely circulate aroundit, preferably near a window that can be opened to reduce the pos-sibility of condensation occuring while the dryer is in use.When operating the dryer, there has to be adequate ventilation toavoidthebackflowofgasesintotheroomfromappliancesburning other fuels, including open fires.A vent hose is recommended for optimum performance.DO NOToperatethedryerinanenclosedenvironment,ensure the dryer is adequately ventilated.If the dryer is enclosed or fitted under a work surface, a gapof at least 50mm (2") must be allowed above the top acrossthe full width of the dryer and at least 25mm (1") either side.This allows air to enter into the rear air inlet. The dryer mustNEVER be run in a cupboard with a closed door.We do not recommend that the dryer is installed in a cupboardbut the dryer must never be installed behind a lockable door,a sliding door or a door with a hinge on the opposite side tothat of the dryer door.DO NOT allow clothes, towels etc., to hang down the front ofthedryerintotheairstream. Thisobstructstheairflowandmay damage the dryer.Ensure that the end of the hose is not directed towards theair intake grille at the rear of the dryer.NOTE: The vent hose should not exceed 2.4 metres in length,and should be kept free of any possible accumulation of flufflint(andwater)byfrequentlyshakingitout. Alwaysensurethat the hose is not squashed. Woollen items need as much care in drying as they doin washing. The movement of the tumble-drying action causes the woollen fibre to shrink and distort.Garments with the ITCL Code (see Items Requiring Special Attention).Do nottumble dry. MISUSEOFA TUMBLEDRYERMAYCREATEAFIRE HAZARD.Items not suitable for tumble dryingSorting your laundry1. Alwaysseparatelaundryintothecorrectfabricgroupsbeforewashing and drying.2. Seethatallzipsareclosed,hooksandeyesarefastenedandbelt,stringsetc. aretiedlooselyinbows,youwillnormallyhavedone this for each itembefore the washing stage.3. Itisimportanttoextractasmuchwateraspossiblefromeachitem before drying. This saves you time and money.4. Make sure that the items to be dried are suitable for tumble drying, or are not of a type requiring special attention (see WashCare Labels section).Your dryer will hold a load of 4kg (9lb) dry weight of natural fabrics. ifyouaredryingitemsofman-madefibres(syntheticoracrylics),themaximum load should not exceed 2kg (4.4lb) dry weight.Thisdifferenceisthatman-madefibresrequiremorespacetotumble-dry without creasing.Tohelpyouestimatehowmanyitemsittakestomakeupadryingload,thechartsbelowshowtheapproximateweightsofsomeeveryday washing items.Ifyougroupsmallcottonorterry-towellingitemswithasyntheticfabric load they could be damp at the end of the drying cycle. Some, however aresimplytoobig. ifyouhavedifficultygettingthemintotheDryer,themachinewillhavedifficultydryingthemproperly. Blankets(andGarments) made from Acrylic fibres (e.g. Acilan, Courtelle, Orion andDralon) mustbedried withspecialcareonLowheatsetting.Overdryingshouldbeavoidedtoensureheatcreasingdoesnotoccur.Yourdryerwillcopewithsuchclothesverywell,butyoushouldalwaysreadthemanufacturersdryinginstructionsattachedtothegarment before you begin.Starched articles should be dried together in the same load to avoidthedistributionofstarchtonon-starcheditems. Youshoulduseaslightly heavier starch solution than you would when drying the itemsonthewashingline. Makesurethatasmuchofthesolutionisremoved from the load as possible before placing it in the Dryer.Removetheitemsfromthedryerassoonastheyreachironingdampness. Iftheyareoverdriedthestarchwillpowder,leavingthefabric limp - which rather defeats the purpose of the exercise!To make sure all your tumble dried clothes come out really fresh andsoftwerecommendyouusealiquidfabricconditionerinthefinalrinseofyourwash. Aliquidfabricconditionerrestoresbounceandsoftness and helps eliminate static cling.Garments with the ITCL Codemay be cleaned using one of theHome Dry Cleaning Kits available.TheinstructionssuppliedwiththeHomeDryCleaningKitmustbestrictly followed.Blankets andBedspreadsPermanentlypleated or creasedgarmentsStarched articlesFabric conditionerHome DryCleaningWARNING: ON NO ACCOUNT SHOULD LIQUID FABRICCONDITIONER BE ADDED TO THE DRYER ITSELF.Turn the Timer clockwise to select the required drying time.The drying time for both heat settings is controlled by the timer. All youhavetodoisturnthe TimerKnobclockwiseuntilitlinesupwiththerequired time.Never wind the timer control anti-clockwise.Thisoperationalsostartsthedryer,providedthedoorisclosedandthe machine is plugged in. The Guide To Drying Times section will tellyou how much time youll need for various loads.To open the door, grip the handle and pull towards you.If the door is opened while the Dryer is in use, the drying programmecuts out automatically and the machine stops. ALWAYSENSURETHATTHEMACHINEISSWITCHEDOFFATTHEMAINS WHEN THE DRYER IS NOT BEING USED.6How to remove and clean the fluff filterCaring for your DryerTo remove the filterAveryimportantpartofyourdryeristheflufffilteratthefrontedgeofthedrum. Itstheretotraptheparti-cles of lint and fluff which arenormally blown awaywhen clothes are dried on the washing-line.if the filter is allowed to become blocked, the passageof warm air through the drum will be severely restricted.Thismeansyourclotheswilltakemuchlongerthannormaltodryandthecostofdryingthemwillbeincreased. it may also damage your dryer.WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE THE DRYERWITHOUT CLEANING THE FILTER AFTEREACH DRYING CYCLE. FAILURE TO CLEANTHE FILTER MAY RESULT IN A FIRE HAZARD.WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE THE DRYER WITHOUT THE FILTER IN POSITION.Wash or vacuum clean the filter occasionally.Dont be alarmed by the amount of fluff you may find on the filter. Its part of the wearing, washing and drying process.When finishedAfter each loadAs necessaryLubricationYourtumbledryerneedsverylittleattention. Thefollowingsimplesteps will keep it performing well.Switch off electricity and remove plug.Always clean the filter and turn the drum by hand to check that smallitems like handkerchiefs do not get missed.Clean exterior metal and plastic surfaces with a damp cloth or siliconpolish only. Regularly check and clean if necessary, the vent hose andanypermanentventingfixturetoensurethattherehasbeenno accumulationofflufforlintduringthedryingprocess.Donotuse abrasivecleaners,scouringagents,acids,chlorinebleach or metal polish to clean any part of the machine. These coulddamage the machine.Yourtumbledryerusesspecialbearingcomponents. Lubricationbythe user is not necessary and must not be attempted.We strongly recommend that all appliances are regularly checked forelectrical and mechanical safety.PleasenotethattheDryingTimesstatedbelowandonappliancecontrol panel are a GUIDE only and drying times are affected by:Itemssuchastowellingretainalotofwaterafterspinning,alsothesuggestedwashprogrammeforsmallitemssuchasT-Shirtsmaysometimes incorporate a low spin speed which has the same effect.Your drying load may contain the same type of fabric but of differentthicknesses. Thinneritemswilltakelesstimetodry. Somefabrics,suchasthoseusedforjeansareofclosertexturethanothersandalthough light when dry will be heavy after washing and spinning.Singleitemsofclothesorsmallloadsmaytakedisproportionallylonger to dry. It is more energy efficient to dry larger loads.Asittakeslongertofullydryclothesthantohavethemreadyforironing, you may wish to remove some clothes when they are slightlydamp, ready for ironing and then continue to dry the remainder untilthey are fully dry.Thelabelonthegarmentshouldtellyouthecorrectheatsettingtoselect. See Wash Care Labels.If the room in which the dryer is situated is cold, your clothes will takelonger to dry than if the room is warm.Somebulkyitemssuchaspaddedjacketscanbedried,withcare,and we do advise that you remove these items several times, shakethem and return them to the dryer.THERE ARE HOWEVER SOME ITEMS THAT WE DO NOT ADVISEYOU TODRY: SEEITEMSNOTSUITABLEFOR TUMBLEDRYINGAllfabricscontainalittlenaturalmoistureevenwhen dry andthisnaturalmoistureshouldnotbelostiftheclothesaretoremainsoftand fluffy. Fibre di vetro (per es. alcuni tipi di tende) Capi che vanno puliti a secco Maglieria. I capi di maglia devono essere asciugati con la stessa attenzione prestata durante il lavaggio. La rotazione del tamburo dellasciugatrice causa il restringimento e la distorsione delle fibredi lana. Indumenti riportanti il codice ITCL (Capi che richiedono cure particolare).NON asciugare nellasciugatrice Articoli ingombranti e di grandi dimensioni, ad es. coperte imbot tite, sacchi a pelo, cuscini di qualsiasi tipo, coperte matrimoniali e copriletto pesanti, in quanto si dilatano durante il processo di asciugatura, impedendo il flusso dellaria nella macchina.AVVERTENZA: LASCIUGATRICE VA USATA SOLO CON CAPILAVATI CON ACQUA. LUSO IMPROPRIO DELLA MACCHINAPU COSTITUIRE PERICOLO DI INCENDIO.1. Prima di lavarli o asciugarli, suddividere sempre i capi in base al tipo di tessuto.2. Accertarsi di chiudere cerniere e allacciature a gancio e annodare con fiocco lento cinture e lacci. Ci dovrebbe essere gi stato fatto per ciascun articolo prima di lavarlo.3. Prima di asciugare un carico, importante strizzare ciascun indumento per eliminare la maggiore quantit dacqua possibile al fine di risparmiare tempo e denaro.4.
