OBJECTIVES

All children in the project area enjoy their right to quality education and gain class wise learning competencies (through access to schools, transitional arrangements such as bridge course).

All children between the age group of 3-5 years in the project area are enrolled in ECE centres.

Improve the quality of education in the local government schools and make the schools a proper learning centre.

Access to Higher Education. Increase participation of the community in

managing Educational Institutions.4

QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME IN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS

Advocating quality education child rights through community

participation:

Formation of education sub-committees at VO and MMS level in 4 mandals

Providing training to education sub-committee members to empower and

enable them to emerge as community pressure groups

Regular periodic monitoring of all government schools by the education

sub-committee members and providing counseling to parents/gurdian and

child

Withdraw children from work and mainstream them into full time, formal

day schools.7

Improvement in quality of education at schools through community

participation and monitoring:

Facilitate proper functioning of school and to improve the quality of

education in the local government schools and make the schools proper

learning centres.

Facilitate institutional planning in schools by making an assessment of the

need gap in the schools.

Ensure increased participation of the community, Gram Panchayats,

women groups and teachers in improving the overall functioning in the

schools.

Observing and documenting best practices to be followed in the schools to

make them better learning centres. 8
