Please also ensure adequate amount, at all times, in the personal State Bank Account of your ward.

17. Cash. Unauthorized cash is not permitted to be held by a Cadet and it is a gross violation of college rules and by no means pardonable.

18. Parents Teachers Meet. The Parents Teachers Meet will be conducted on 14 Oct 2017.

19. Valuables. No costly equipment to be held by Cadets, especially ATM Smart Card, Camera, Mobile Phones, Pen Drive, Credit / Debit Cards etc. Possession of same is against the rules and is a RELEGATORY offence. Any Cadet found in possession is liable for RELEGATION / WITHDRAWAL.

20. Punishment Cadets. The following punishment will be awarded to the cdts for the offences mentioned below:-

(a) Rustication / Relegation in case Cadet is found cutting bounds i.e. leaving College Campus without permission.

(b) Rustication in case cadet is not found on his bed 15 minutes after lightsout without any valid reason. He will be considered as being absent from College Campus.

(c) Relegation /Rustication in case cadet is founded to be in possession of Mobile or any other unauthorized items like ATM Smart Card, Camera, Pen Drive, Credit/Debit Card etc .

(d) Relegation / Rustication in case cadet is founded to be in possession with valuable authorized items like costly watches, shoes.

(e) Relegation / Rustication in case cadet is ill-treating a fellow junior cadet or calling him in at odd hrs or at inappropriate places.

21. Reservation of Cadets under Own Arrangement. The parents are requested to make reservation of their ward for winter vacation under own arrangements and the college will not be undertaking the same as has been done previously. Parents are requested to sign the consent form attached with the school fees/class results for the purpose of travel back from school after the end of the term.

22. Barrack Damages. It has been noticed that the cadets are showing lack of regard and care for the infrastructure facilities being provided to them. The amount of damages caused by the Cadets to property, replenishing / repairing of stores is alarming. The college has no other means but to penalize the cadets for the same. It would be appreciated if parents can advice their ward to take as much care for any item as he would be taking at home.

Objectives and Aim

1. General Objective. To make RIMC Campus “Zero Tolerance for Ragging” and Ragging free Zone by weeding out ragging in all its forms.

2. Specific Objectives :-

(a) To absolutely prohibit ragging within the college campus.

(b) To prevent the occurrence of ragging by following anti ragging measures in the college.

(c) To provide punishment to those indulging in ragging as per the guidelines.

(d) To sensitize students, staff and parents to adopt measures that will prevent ragging

3. “Ragging” means :- Any act, conduct or practice by which dominant power of senior students, former students or outsiders, is brought to bear on students freshly enrolled or students who are in any way considered junior by other students and includes individual or collective acts or practices which:-

(a) Involve physical or psychological assault or threat or use of force or wrongful confinement or restraint; or

(b) Violate the status, dignity and honor of such students; or

(c) Expose students to ridicule and contempt and affect their self-esteem; or

(d) Entail verbal abuse and aggression, indecent gesture and obscene behavior.

SOP - ANTI RAGGING AT RIMC

Objectives and Aim

1. General Objective. To make RIMC Campus “Zero Tolerance for Ragging” and Ragging free Zone by weeding out ragging in all its forms.

2. Specific Objectives :-

(a) To absolutely prohibit ragging within the college campus.

(b) To prevent the occurrence of ragging by following anti ragging measures in the college.

(c) To provide punishment to those indulging in ragging as per the guidelines.

(d) To sensitize students, staff and parents to adopt measures that will prevent ragging

3. “Ragging” means :- Any act, conduct or practice by which dominant power of senior students, former students or outsiders, is brought to bear on students freshly enrolled or students who are in any way considered junior by other students and includes individual or collective acts or practices which:-

(a) Involve physical or psychological assault or threat or use of force or wrongful confinement or restraint; or

(b) Violate the status, dignity and honor of such students; or

(c) Expose students to ridicule and contempt and affect their self-esteem; or

(d) Entail verbal abuse and aggression, indecent gesture and obscene behavior.

4. Causes and Locations of Ragging :-

(a) Causes of Ragging. The main causes for indulging in ragging are:-

(i) Eagerness of seniors to show off their power, authority and superiority.

(ii) An attitude of backlash: a "do-unto-others what others did to you."

(iii) Importance the seniors get in the initial stages of admission by helping and guiding the new comers for various things in the absence of or ineffectiveness of institutional mechanism to help them at that point, resulting in their getting indebted to seniors and thereby feeling compelled to do their biddings.

(iv) The percolation of traditional means of ragging from higher military training institution.

(b) Causes for Increase in the Incidence of Ragging among the Cadets. Among the main causes, one can cite the following:-

(i) Lack of morality, erosion of values and discipline.

(ii) External pressure of power that hinder enforcement and action against students with powerful connection.

(iii) Lack of authority on the part of teachers.

(iv) Indulgence of parents with too much money to students leading to incidence of stealing, acquiring expensive electronic gadgets.

(v) Hushing up or downplaying of the reported cases by the authorities.

(vi) Glorification of ragging on so called toughening in the Armed Forces

(vii) The misplaced desire to improve the junior cadets by the senior cadets by resorting to ragging.

5. Prohibition of Ragging. Following objectives/ measures will be implemented to make the College campus ragging free and “Zero Tolerance for Ragging College”.

(a) No Cadet shall practice ragging in any form, within or outside the premises of the college.

(b) Any Cadet who acts in contravention to the provisions listed above shall, on conviction, be suitably punished.

6. Roles and Responsibilities. Preventing the menace of ragging in the college and making the campus Zero Ragging Zone will be the moral responsibility and accountability of the entire college starting from the Commandant to the lowest level employee. Such person shall be bound to take immediate action if any case of ragging is noticed or brought to the notice or reported to any staff of the College: -

(a) Every person of the college or who is in the service or pay of or remunerated by the college to do any work assigned to him/ her in connection with the maintenance of discipline therein, shall be bound to take immediate action on the occurrence of any incidence of ragging and to report it to the anti ragging committee, also called the “Discipline Committee” and the Commandant.

(c) This will include teaching as well as non teaching staff.
