    Thank you all for feasting with us today!

  • Welcome to Valley Brook

    Thank you for worshiping with us today. We are very glad you chose

    to spend your Sunday morning with our Valley Brook family. For

    your convenience, our ushers are standing by to meet any needs you

    may have during the worship service.

    Welcome Home!

    Today’s Scripture:

    Psalm 25:1-9

    1 In you, Lord my God, I put my trust. 2 I trust in you; do not let me be put to

    shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. 3 No one who hopes in you will ever

    be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.

    4 Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. 5 Guide me in your truth and

    teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    6 Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. 7 Do not re-

    member the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your

    love remember me, for you, Lord, are good. 8 Good and upright is the Lord; there-

    fore he instructs sinners in his ways. 9 He guides the humble in what is right

    and teaches them his way.

  • View from My Place

    As I read Psalm 22 this morning, which is a combination

    of prophecy about the Lord Jesus’ suffering on the cross

    and David’s personal trials, I thanked the Lord for choos-

    ing to wrestle spiritually the same way we wrestle. Per-

    plexed and longing for deliverance, “My God, my God

    why have You forsaken me” and then experiencing a resur-

    gence of hope, faith and trust. “You who fear the LORD, praise Him! … For He has not

    despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; He has not hidden His face from

    him but has listened to his cry for help.”

    The struggle is part of every believer’s journey. So is God’s faithfulness. We are not

    alone.

    In fact, in the last two verses of the Psalm, David actually wrote about you and me.

    That’s right! “Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord.

    They will proclaim His righteousness to a people yet unborn-- for He has done it.” We

    are among those “future generations.” We’ve been told about Him. We serve Him. We

    tell others about Him.

    Imperfect in our faith. Human in our responses. Yet we are always supported by God’s

    sufficient grace. The Lord knows how we are. He knows where we are. He knows what

    to do. There is nothing we can experience that will surprise Him or be a problem for

    Him. He’s seen it in His people before and He’s experienced it for Himself.

  • We, the members of

    Valley Brook Community Church,

    purpose to:

    Know Jesus Christ better

    Understand and experience the grace of God,

    and as a result, grow in Christ-like love for others;

    Authentically share our lives with one another;

    Serve one another, each in our own unique,

    God-given way;

    Be a diverse congregation;

    Make our music diverse and our

    worship whole-hearted;

    And

    Reach out to others with the attitude that we

    are as needy of Christ and undeserving

    of Him as anyone else.

    “Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

    Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.”

    Psalm 103:1-2 (NIV)

    As a church family, we are committed to pray and trust the Lord for three specific areas in our ministry.

    That God would use our challenges to draw each of us closer to Him.

    That God would use our challenges to deepen our love for each other and unity with each other.

    That God would use our challenges to release the gifts and resources of our church community to

    the extent necessary to meet our needs.
