LTTA PROJECT MEETING 13 TO 19 OF MAY 2019

INCLUDE ME
he third meeting of the Erasmus+ Project “INCLUDE ME” was
held in Kavala, Greece, from 13/5 to 19/5 by the 4th Vocational
High School of Kavala. All the participants, having set the goals of
the project in the previous meetings, and having developed a strong
bond and group dynamic among each other, including a personal
understanding and friendship that is always a cohesive factor in any
group, proceeded to the meeting in Greece with a renewed sense of
working on and further shaping the final outcome of the project.
The first day of the meeting was spent at school.
The entire school community of the 4th Vocational School, worked
together in order to present a program that included a video presenting
clips from the participant countries.

and a variable and interesting program of singing and dancing from the
host country Greece.
There were ice-breaking activities, organized by the school, where the
pupils of all the participating countries formed a bond of better knowing
and co-operating with each other, through testing themselves and their
linguistic abilities.
The students presented their ppt about their strategies and about traditional classroom in their countries in order to see the differences.

Then they had a Workshop - writing an article
Students presented their activity.
There followed a lunch
break with a buffet of local
specialties and for the rest
of the evening there was the
teachers meeting in order to
discuss the present status
of the project, to delegate
the various tasks
undertaken by each country
in order to proceed, and to
set the future goals of the
project.
The second day was spent on the
beautiful island of Thassos, across
from Kavala, where the participants
were presented with the rich history
of the island, visiting the
Archeological Museum, and they
also visited the Archeological site of
the Ancient Theatre of Thassos
while they took a walking tour of the
modern town of Thassos, a famous greek holiday destination.
The third day included a boating trip along the sensational coast of the
gulf of Kavala
and a stopover at the picturesque village
of Nea Iraklitsa for lunch. The most
intrepid of the participants didn’t shy of
taking a dive in the crystal yet chilly sea
of May. The next day was dedicated to
the importance of the history of Kavala
due to its position in the ancient Macedonian kingdom. The participants
had the chance to visit the archeological site of Philippi and get a first
hand experience of the variable significance of the area into shaping
today’s European values.
The day continued at the famous tourist resort of Nea Peramos, where
everybody enjoyed the best that the greek summer has to offer.
During the last day before departure, the participants delved into the
history of Byzantine and modern Kavala. The day started with a visit to
the Tobacco Museum of Kavala, a place of great significance for the city,
both financial as well as emotional, as the tobacco processing factories
of the city, during the early 20th century were not only what made Kavala
one of the richest and most important merchant ports of the
southeastern Europe, but it was also the field of many struggles for the
basic working rights and laws that shape the working conditions in the
entire continent even today. The day continued with a walking tour of the
old city of Kavala, the Panagia peninsula, and the Byzantine castle
where the participants witnessed the history of the city on its transition to
modern times.
The meeting ended with all participants having a concise idea on the
next steps of the projects, a better understanding of the background of
each other and an eagerness to continue the journey of this adventure to
the next stop, Perpignan, France.
