Dear Seton Catholic School family,
The start of the 2020-21 school year has been bumpy and uncertain as it has
been for everyone in our nation and around the world due to the COVID-19
pandemic. What amazes me here at Seton Catholic is the dedication and pro-
fessionalism our teachers and students have demonstrated! Online learning
has not been new in academic fields, but it certainly is to school age chil-
dren! We began the year on August 12, 2020, as planned, but in online mode
only. Seton Catholic Schools has risen to the occasion when it comes to ac-
commodating new platforms of learning! I am grateful to everyone,
especially the members of our School Commission and the principals who
worked diligently on the reopening plan.
Archbishop Thompson, in his recent leadership briefing said, “Catholic schools continue the teaching ministry of
Jesus. They give witness to the Gospels and to the truth of our Catholic way of life. They help adults, youth and chil-
dren in diverse regions of our archdiocese come to a deeper understanding of God’s plan for human life and for all
creation. Catholic schools are powerful instruments of evangelization—helping members of the Catholic community
and others from many diverse faiths, cultures and economic backgrounds grow intellectually, personally and spiritu-
ally as members of the one family of God. Catholic schools are also vital to the social ministry of the Church—
through the assistance they provide to students and families in need but also in their commitment to teaching social
justice and to providing students with opportunities to serve others. Catholic schools contribute directly to the health
and vitality of the Church in central and southern Indiana. Along with parish religious education programs, youth
ministry and other means of lifelong faith formation and education, our Catholic schools provide religious education
classes, sacramental preparation, liturgical and prayer experiences, and opportunities for Christian witness and
service. They help form the faith community, and they challenge us to
look beyond our own needs to the urgent needs of individuals, families
and society at large.”
Yes, in our school we all are committed to continue the teaching ministry
of Jesus. We not only teach, but present our lives as witness to what we
believe and teach! Jesus, our Lord teaches us what God wants us to be
and his very life is the witness to what God, our Father wills for our sal-
vation. If there is one thing we get right here in our school, it is God’s
grace! For “it is by grace you have been saved through faith (Eph 2:8)”.
We teach our students to cooperate with God’s grace, which enables us to
respond generously to God’s voice. As always, we are proud that our
school is in the fore front of cultivating all human values as enlightened
by the divine values for our students, today and tomorrow!

Dear Friends and Supporters of Seton Catholic Schools,
You continue to amaze us with your willingness to share time,
talent, and treasure with our schools. Our students, faculty, and
staff thank you! Your support of the mission of Seton Catholic
Schools helps further not only the education of our students, but the formation of their spiritual life. They grow in
academics, and they grow in holiness with the help of your gifts.
The 2019-2020 school year was an unusual one. Our school year ended with the pandemic shut down. Questions
and confusion were prevalent, but our staff and families were not deterred. Everyone persevered while transition-
ing to school at home and learning how to use technology effectively. Although not ideal, the students were able
to continue learning and achieving remarkable things under odd circumstances. We marveled at their resilience
and fortitude! We continue to observe our Seton Catholic alumni doing well at college or in the work force. In all
of these settings, know that you have been instrumental in their successes!
Seton Catholic Schools offers a foundation in academics and faith that is often not seen elsewhere. Father Sengole
has celebrated his first anniversary with us; and he has been a driving force for preparing our students for a
faith-filled-life journey. Your support of our mission adds to our students’ lives. Thank you for that extraordinary
faith in us, for encouraging us, and for giving hope to our future. We are certainly blessed by you!

020
As we left February of 2020, we
rolled into the final stretch of the
senior year for the seventeen mem-
bers of the Class of 2020. Spring
sport seasons were just around the
corner, along with the spring band
concert, the final blood drive,
prom, graduation and all of the oth-
er anticipated activities and events
that close out senior year. The
events that played out from that
point could not have been forecast-
ed for the Class of 2020.
After several months of
“continuous learning” at home and
cancellation of all those “final high
school moments”, the Seton Catho-
lic High School staff was delighted
to come together with the Class of
2020 and their families on Sunday,
July 19, to celebrate their long
overdue graduation.
The Class of 2020 was the 15th
class to graduate from SCHS since
opening its doors in 2002. Mrs.
Shantel Cartwright, Academic Ad-
visor, was the master of ceremo-
nies for the event recognizing the
class of students for their achieve-
ments. 53% of the graduates com-
pleted their four years with an Aca-
demic Honors Diploma. 53% were
members of the National Honor
Society. Before graduation they
had accumulated 143 hours of col-
lege credit and completed 31 AP
courses. In total, the class of 2020
earned college scholarships and
grants valued at $1.1 million in
merit based scholarship offers.
Suzanne Becker, Valedictorian,
and William Brenneke, Salutatori-
an, both addressed their classmates,
along with Mr. Justin Burkhardt,
President of the Seton Catholic
Schools Commission.
Brenneke received the Archbishop
Tobin Christian Leadership Award,
the most prestigious award given
by the school. The award recog-
nizes a graduating senior who has
demonstrated excellence in schol-
arship, outstanding character, in-
spired leadership, and genuine gen-
erosity in service to the school
community.
These students are now spread-
ing their wings and flying
at colleges across the region.
We wish them well in all of
their future endeavors!

Mrs. Harvey was my
first teacher at Seton Catholic. My
first year was rough because I was
new and didn't know anyone. She
helped me make friends and feel
welcomed, and has always been my
favorite teacher.
Grace Amyx
@ Seton Catholic
since 6th grade
The teacher who has
had the most influence on me would
be Mrs. Hornak because of the envi-
ronment in her classroom. Her class-
room structure has helped me
academically, as well as with time
management and organization in all
classes. Her class has also been one
I always look forward to because I
feel very engaged and interested.
Lastly, she has always been a
teacher I feel comfortable talking to
and being around in general. I really
respect her as a person and a teach-
er, and I'm thankful that I have had
the opportunity to learn from her.
Kara Amyx
@ Seton Catholic
since 6th grade
The teacher that has
had the biggest impact
on me is Mr. Reichley. He is not
only a great teacher and helps me
understand challenging subjects, but
has influenced me as a person to
remain close to God and to do good.
Olivia Amyx
@ Seton Catholic
since 6th grade
My favorite teacher
that I have had at Se-
ton would have to be Mrs. Cart-
wright. I had her for Preparing for
College and Careers class, and she
is also the school counselor. She has
always been really helpful to me and
understanding. She has also taught
me a lot about life.

2020-21
I like my math
teacher, Mr. Reichley because
he has already helped me a lot.
Mahlya Carter
@ Seton Catholic
since 4th grade
While being here at
Seton, the teacher that
has had the most influence on me is
Mrs. Hornak. Her classroom is very
welcoming, and she is always very
organized. We also do a lot of hands
on labs and activities that help us
understand the material we are
learning about.
Xen Cartwright
@ Seton Catholic
since 7th grade
Mr. Reichley has had
the greatest impact on me because
he makes the subjects of math and
science enjoyable and easy to learn.
Sam Casper
@ Seton Catholic
since 2nd grade
I started in 2nd grade
and decided to leave in 8th, but
when it came for me to start my
sophomore year I moved back be-
cause Seton felt like home to me.
Mr. Reichley has had the biggest
impact on me because when I’m
struggling in class or with other
issues he’s always willing to help
me through it and has made me
become a better student over all.
Colby Cox
@ Seton Catholic
since Preschool
The teacher that has
had the most influence on me is
Mrs. Dorsten because she taught me
how to be a good listener and how
to be a good student in general. She
also taught me that there is always
more than one way to look at some-
thing.

Mr. Reichly, simply
because he has taught me many
important life lessons and told us the
important aspects of life.
Jonah Falcone
@ Seton Catholic
since Preschool
I think the teacher that
had the greatest impact on me was
Mr. Gilbert. It was in his class that I
was really inspired to work hard in
school and do my very best. In his
class I decided that I liked math,
which is what I may be majoring in.
I also really enjoyed reading in his
class and doing the plays at the end
of the year.
Madelyn Gault
@ Seton Catholic
since Preschool
The teacher that has
had the most influence on me would
be Mrs. Hornak because she’s al-
ways been very organized in the
class room which helps me stay fo-
cused. Also, she’s very patient and
understanding. We do a lot of hands
on activities, such as labs and other
work in her class which I find help-
ful when learning about new things.
Andrew Himes
@ Seton Catholic
since 5th grade
Mr. Reichley has had
the most influence on me because he
has been not only a good teacher but
a good person who has a lot of wis-
dom to offer.
Olivia Howard
@ Seton Catholic
since Preschool
Looking back at all
the years here, Mrs. Dorsten stands
out for having impacted me in such
positive ways. I met her at the be-
ginning of middle school during a
Welcome Back night, and she was
so welcoming, telling me that I
could come to her for anything I
needed. She put my anxious seventh
-grade self at ease from that day for-
ward. Throughout my high school
years she has challenged me to
achieve my very best which has giv-
en me confidence that I am well pre-
pared for the next steps in my life. I
have been blessed by her high stand-
ards, which helped me grow into the
confident student I have become,
and I have always felt her support
and encouragement. Her guidance
and support have really contributed
to my love of learning, and, for all
these reasons, I am so grateful and
appreciative of Mrs. Dorsten.
Shelby Kutter
@ Seton Catholic
since Preschool
I'd say that Mr. Reich-
ley is the teacher that has influenced
me most because it is clear that he
prioritizes learning, but also stresses
the importance of good character.
He's part of what made me realize
what it really means to grow in ma-
turity and be a good person.
Nhien Le
@ Seton Catholic
since 9th grade
The teacher who has
influenced me the most is Mrs. Hor-
nak. She cares about the students
and always gives students good ad-
vice. She also pushes them to the
best of their ability. I love when I
talk and joke around with her; and I
appreciate all that she does for me
and the students in general!
Luke Leverton
@ Seton Catholic
since Kindergarten
Mr. Reichley has
always been someone who sets a
really good example, and he always
has a good classroom environment.

We are very blessed at Seton Catholic to have great support from
members of our community both past and present. Thanks to the
generosity of many, we are able to offer scholarships and financial
aid to many of the students that currently attend Seton Catholic.
Without that support, many of our families would struggle to make
the dream of a Seton Catholic education a reality. The following
funds have established scholarships and financial assistance designat-
ed for students to use toward the cost of attending Seton Catholic:
SCHOLARSHIP DONOR THANK YOU
Many of these funds are managed by the Wayne County
Foundation. We would like to extend our gratitude to
them for taking such good care of these resources for us
so that we may continue to offer this type of assistance to
our students.
Our students also receive tuition support through The Institute for Quality Education, a Scholarship Granting Organi-
zation (SGO) that manages funds from individual and business donors that make the donation to the organization and
designate Seton Catholic Schools as the beneficiary school. We thank Father John Luerman, Mr. Phillip Morgan,
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Dickman, and Mr. and Mrs. Brett Guiley for choosing to support Seton Catholic through their
donations to this SGO during the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
We are deeply grateful for the generosity of those that have shared their treasures with our students so that they can pur-
sue an education that allows them to prepare themselves academically for life after high school, while at the same time
provides them with an environment in which they can nurture their spiritual life and continue to grow closer to God.
Thank you to all of our generous donors.

The most influential
teacher I have had is Mr. Reichley.
He has really helped me with math.
Kaylen Ruble
@ Seton Catholic
since 4th grade
The teacher that has
had the greatest impact on me was
Mr. Reichley because he helps us
learn difficult subjects, and he in-
spires me to be a better version of
myself. He also inspires me to have
a closer relationship with God.
Ryleigh Russell
@ Seton Catholic
since 9th grade
A teacher that has had
great influence on me would be Mr.
Markward. This is because he has
encouraged me and believed in me
even when I didn’t throughout the
last year while I was taking multiple
math classes. He is an adult that
cares about what was going on in
our lives - school and otherwise.
Naedeine Stanley
@ Seton Catholic
since Preschool
Mr. Brown has had the
most influence on me because he
has a very hands-on teaching style,
and that has helped me learn and
understand more effectively.
Hope Wysong
@ Seton Catholic
since 5th grade
The Seton Catholic
teacher that has had the
most influence on me, even
though all of them have had
an influence, would be Mrs.
Leverton. She helped me to
get to where I am today by
pushing me to get my work
done and get good grades, not
because she wanted to see me
struggle, but because she
knew I could do it if I truly
put my mind to it.
Ashly Lopez Hernandez
@ Seton Catholic
since 5th grade
The teacher who has
had the most impact on my life is
Dan Reichley. When I got to the high
school and met Mr. Reichley in 7th
grade, I knew that I could go to him
whether it was for school or advice.
It’s been amazing seeing him year
after year, and I am deeply saddened
that this is the last year I have with
him before I go off into the real
world. It has been wonderful getting
to learn so much from him even if
his puns aren’t that funny. I love
knowing that new students will get to
be as impacted by him as I have
been. I look forward to having class
with him every day because I know
that no matter what kind of day I’m
having he’ll bring a smile to my face.
Katelyn Meeks
@ Seton Catholic
since 5th grade
The teacher that has
had the most influence on me has
been Mrs. Dorsten because she is
the best history teacher that I have
ever had. She has inspired me to
become a judge someday and to
fight for our liberty and rights as
U.S. citizens.
Audrey Mosey
@ Seton Catholic
since Kindergarten
Mr. Reichley has had
the greatest impact on me during
my time at Seton Catholic. He in-
spires me to be successful in my
academics and to also have a strong
faith.

We are blessed to have committed families, parishioners, and community members who are willing to share their
time, talent, and treasure with us. As you look at the bar graphs below, you will see that tuition alone does not cover
salary and benefits for our faculty and staff, let alone all remaining expenses. It takes a village, and without your pray-
ers and financial gifts, we would not be able to carry out the ministry of Seton Catholic Schools. Jesus is the reason
for this school. Thank you for your support!
